Eddie Kendricks - Each Day I Cry A Little

- You know, it's funny how people put labels on things like men are supposed to be strong, and women weak. I've even heard it said that men don't feel things as deep as women, don't hurt as bad but when love comes into your life and all your feelings come to the surface; joy and pain, whatever's in your heart its intensified a thousand times. Yes, I've been hurt deeper than you'll ever know but being the kinda man that I am, I have had to hide my feelings but if I could put all that aside and tell you the truth...
Now i see why this man had a strong desire to sart a solo career. Listen to all of this greatness he had to share.
Eddie KENDRICK HAD THE MOST SOULFUL PASSIONATE FALSETTO EVER.RIP..
Missing my beautiful wife Belinda Shabazz of 24 years. Lost her to cancer 4 years ago. Definitely feel this song every day. Rest in peace baby until we meet again.
I know what you mean.
🙏🏾🙏🏾
Amen❤
Just charrish the beautiful memories. God bless
I lost my wife to cancer 12 years ago...we were married for 36 years....this song brings out the memories, and tears.
There will never be another Eddie Kendricks.
Never!
Never another Eddie Paul Williams or David Ruffin Melvin Franklin!
Never ever !
EVER ! !
NEVER😘💞
The KING of FASLETTO. This song every MAN can relate too..RIP EDDIE,you did real Well, you really did, RIP
I remember my brother playing this song (he was a big temptations fan). Hard to believe it came out almost 40 years ago. Also hard to believe how much my generation took this music for granted. Thanks to UA-cam, all we need to do is see a song's title and say "So THAT'S who sang that song!" Man, I've re-discovered over 1000 songs from the 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's. The musicians in those days were BAAD!!!
We took it for granted because we all assumed great music would always continue to come to us. A contractor was at my home today and he said "Is that Dionne Warwick you're playing? I am like, yes. He's like "Back when there was good music."
Eddie had one of the most peaceful voices I've ever heard in the male singer. He had the perfect vocal pitch and excellent background singer. About as honest a song about a man's emotions can be.
I'm listening to this today(Feb.19, 2018 and thinking the same thing plus what a beautiful and poignant this song is but just great when presented by this fantastic singer11
Roger James .. You stated that perfectly bruh
Roger James, you're right on point.. still in April 16 2021 !!
Beautiful voice one of my favorite
What a Beautiful & Accurate description 👍🏾
Eddie Kendricks, the voice of the Temptations, love a man that's not afraid to show his feelings. Each day I cry a little.
david ruffin fans might take exception to that lol....it's hard for me to pick
No contest! Eddie is everything
Each time I listen to him using both his falsetto and his real voice I believe more and more he is the greatest, totally agree with you!
Norma Harris yes...brings tears to my eyes... gotta love'm
He was and still is the greatest tenor out there hand down not doubt.
This song came out in 1973. I loved it then, and there’s not a day that go by now that I don’t listen to it. That voice, with such feeling.
As I reflect back growing up in the 70's it was such a great era but it had such pain too. Many of our men were still overseas dealing with the war, our people were going through such devastating times but, as a family we stood and endured it all.
Eddie had such a lovely, calm and peaceful voice as a male singer. His legacy lives on. RIP Legend
I have always thought that Eddie Kendricks had one of the most beautiful voice. Each Day I Cry A Little sets that voice in its place. I cried when he passed. R. I. P. Eddie Kendricks.
I was so very hurt when he passed.

Everyone HAS CRIED A LITTLE, THE LOSS OF LOVE,A BROKEN HEART IS A HURTING THING..RIP EDDIE 🙏 THANK YOU
I always feel what Eddie and Marvin Gaye are singing just as much as I hear it. Always loved that about them.
I agree Marvin Gaye and Eddie Kendricks yes yes they really throw down
They don't make songs like this no more. Eddie goes right for the soul on this one. The back ground vocals are enticing and adds that extra season. You feel the raw emotion running thru this song
In my feeling's.... right bout now.
It's a combination of his voice and the arrangement.
@@earleanpowell5234 😊🙃🙂
One of Eddie's best kept songs.
that deserved more rotation on the airwaves.
The many emotions awakened in layers - from the least to intensified.
Tears that flow deep indeed....🫂

Eddie had such a lovely, calm and peaceful voice as a male singer, I get chills listening to this song. His legacy lives on. RIP Legend
Probably one of Eddie KENDRICKS best songs
politics at Motown Ruffin had a entire hot album unreleased I just heard it 3 years ago.alot of eddies music like this was shelved
so sad :(
Sorry but this song wasn't shelved.. it was on the Album 'Eddie Kendricks' released in 1973.. I played this song until the vinyl worn out lol.. this was one Motown didn't shelved..
It's been said by people that Eddie Kendricks previous relationship with Diana Ross and not being a Kiss Ass type of person played factored into why Eddie J Kendricks received the runaround/screwaround at Motown Records Clearly he is a pioneer, creative, model like looks, vocally unique...etc..but he does seem to be aloof. Great Artist!
dwight patterson I agree 101%
EDDIE KENDRICKS, THE HANDSOME MAN ON EARTH !!!!!!!
EDDIE KENDRICKS brought me here...no sample, no rappers. I was 11 years old in 1973 and my older sister had this album. Had to get it for myself when I became an adult. EJK fan for 40 years and counting! RIP Eddie, "The Prince of Romance"
Great Voice!
Great Song!
I Love to hear him sing!
RIP Eddie!
You Are Missed!
The greatest Mr Eddie Kendrick, Mr falsetto himself, RIP!
This was a 360 degree for me when Eddie Kendricks came out with this song, but when it dropped EVERYBODY cried 'a lot'. It pulled out emotions so far down and deep that it was a healing process for all of us who were holding so much inside. Group hugs for love and peace!
I still stop what I'm doing just to take in the profound words of this song....each day, I cry a little....the joy, the pain. RIP Eddie Kendricks.
Loylyn ,unique name ...wow, anyway its amazing how free one can be if you just get honest with yourself.
One of Eddie's best solos and he had a lot.
Yes he is ENSLEY ALA. West side my side Rising-West Princeton
@@charleswalton9460 I

I can't lie this song still makes me emotional.

OMG! What a beautiful song, the late great Eddie Kendricks! I keep playing this song over and over with tears in my eyes. Each day I cry a little, each night I die just a little. Another one of The Temptations Best, gone too soon! Lawdy, Lawdy. Eddie had such a beautiful smile! Rest In Love Eddie ❤️
Eddie had such a lovely, calm and peaceful voice as a male singer, I get chills listening to this song. His legacy lives on. RIP Legend
When male music artists sang with heart, soul, and emotion.
RIP Eddie!! Straight out of Birmingham, Alabama west side Ensley Neighborhood my HOOD!!! Birmingham's Best.
I been to the Park they name after Eddie
Are you saying eddie is from Alabama?
Yes he is ENSLEY westside near Rising-West Princeton he passed in Princeton hospital dam good guy rip Eddie K.
Eddie and I got to know what being Is, I Love him for Who he Was and in my Heart I'll Always Remember him that Way !! Rev. Rufus a Friend.
THIS IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SONG I HAVE EVER HEARD!
Puts the way I feel into words and into melodies. Makes crying seem a little less painful
Agree 100% with Eddie's words. Showing your emotions don't make a man less of a man. Ever wonder why women can control themselves much better than men under very difficult some times even worse situations? The ladies don't hold back, they let it go, that's why.
Bad ass song
I can relate this song in my life right now. Lovely song.
This one of the most beautiful and touching songs top notch some people lost but dam sure my gain I have this song? if I'm on you tube I pull this song up and listen my idol and it will always melt my heat one of my special favorite song!!! Rest in peace Eddie never forgotten! and I just don't hear this type fantastic songs any longer and I treasure them by buying of collection of them!!!
Of all falsetto tenors, Mr. Kendricks was the very best. Smooth, silky and a range unimaginable. I remember the Supremes and Temptations collaboration "I'm going to get your baby", where Eddie surpassed Diana Ross in the upper range. Eddie owned that collaborative by far. To this day I have heard of anyone who could outclasse his superb falsetto. There has been many great tenors, but Eddie Kendricks is yet the King!
I miss You EDDIE,The Night we Hung out Nyc,TOWN HILL 2.1980.Was one of the GREATEST DAYS in my LIFE, YOU were CLASS,KINDNESS,and THE Most SOULFUL TENOR that has EVER LIVED,RIP you did WELL, you REALLY DID.😔
Adorable 🥰 I Love Eddie Kendricks 💞💞
U Really have to understand the full meaning of this song...Tears!!
I agree I'm only 54 years old but each day in regards to certain loves I've had some time I just have to cry a little
@@anthonyberry3949 Absolutely!!
Eddies 3rd solo album .”Keep on Truckin”sold the album but I consider this song his most epic moment behind the mic! It was a B-side on the album but a staple on the Quiet Storm back in the day.RIP Eddie. Top 5 underated R&B vocalist easy👌🏿
I never heard this by Eddie before but when I hear it, I'm flooded with memories of that time period.
This song came out in 1973 I think it was on the Boogie Down album a big it also the song might not have got a lot of play time because disco music was in then
@@dwightpatterson8741its on the Eddie Kendricks album the one that has keep on truckin on it he another good album track on there too called where do go baby he had a lot good that didn't get airplay or should have released as singles
Beautiful song..Who can't relate to this song in some way. Each one of us has shed a tear or two. Love you Eddie James.
This is genius. The voice of an angel. God I thank you.
Eddie had such a lovely, calm and peaceful voice as a male singer, I get chills listening to this song. His legacy lives on. RIP Legend
I have never heard this song until yesterday. I been missing out on a lot. Glad I'm now hipped to this song. Such a beautiful song. I keep playing it over and over. Such a shame this song didn't get much needed promotion or radio play. I liked Eddie as a solo artist vs the Temptations but he was such an underrated artist. Eddie, your legacy will forever live on. Your music has touched so many hearts in so many ways. Thank you brotha.
I know I've listened to this song everyday the last four yrs. Cried over a love I lost without telling him so.....didn't know men could hurt so bad. Thanks Eddie, I now understand.

Sadness and strength expressed majestically.
My FAVORITE SONG BY EDDIE, I KNEW THIS GREAT SOUL...THANK U EDDIE
Dammit! I think I'm in love. Eddie, Eddie, Eddie,... miss you.
All of eddie kendricks songs were about real life, and not disrespectful at all. Love his songs and music timeless.
Eddie Kendricks was a really unique talent, all his songs were really great and he sang about his real life experiences, that's why his songs have so much feeling and meaning, and oh yes,he had a great voice.
I love how Frank's productions on Eddie Kendricks are so intimate and exposed...the backgrounds are intricate and exquisite...unbelievably beautiful!! WOW! They just make my eyes flow with tears!
Truly, Truly blessed to have had such a beautiful voice among us... the orchestration is astounding!!!
My man Eddie!!! No words can express what this man has meant to me all my life..such a beautiful spitit in his voice.
This is how music was created with a beautiful voice to tell you the truth about the way things were happening in the world
lately I've had a need for music and found that listening to eddie fits the bill
I think of my parents, uncles and auntie's in their young years as they sang, played cards and just enjoyed life and it's struggles. So many good memories from my youth watching them. They old now and Eddie reminds so much of the good ole days. That voice sometimes brings tears. RIP Eddie. That part of me misses you so so much!!!!!! Sherwood
I listened to this song yesterday for the 1st time in a very long time, it took me right-back to where I was when I first heard it...brought tears to my eyes...I love Eddie, he was always my favorite Temptation. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE his voice it was pure GOLD... R.I.P. gone way to soon.

I love this man. Eddie then, Eddie now, Eddie always.
One of my favorites from the day it came out this whole album was exceptional
I Love this song so much and what great voices all the temptations all had. Wish we had these singers like this' once again.
Rest In Peace Eddie,You still reside in our hearts.
This is the most beautiful song I have ever heard Eddie Kendricks sing, happy that you shared:)
Eddie had such a lovely, calm and peaceful voice as a male singer. His legacy lives on. RIP Legend
He would have been bigger but that hate a the motown assembly line eddie had all the chick's like Supremes lead singer that where most of hate came from you boss but you got second and wife her up BG !
NOW I KNOW THE RECORDING INDUSTRY IS CORRUPT, TELL ME ONE REASON (AND IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE A GOOD ONE), WHY THIS SONG DIDN'T MAKE IT TO THE TOP 10.
WHO OF US THAT IS AT LEAST 50 YRS OLD , THAT HAS NOT EXPERIENCE EXACTLY WHAT THIS MAN IS SING ABOUT. AND THIS MESSAGE STILL APPLYS
I'm 24 and I agree this song is so beautiful....i don't understand why this is unknown to so many. Eddie Kendrick is so under rated its not even funny. His voice cries so much in this record. If only he knew how much of an impact he truly had on even the generation to come
Motown never released this as a 45. Although an excellent album cut, it would have had to take an adventurous deejay to create the demand to force Motown to release this as a single.
LOL. Corruption notwithstanding, there are million possible reasons why a record doesn't become a hit. Big hits are rarities - no matter how good the music is or the promotion behind it. Besides, was this even released as a single? It appeared on an album with a number one single and that's pretty damn impressive in itself.
Renee Hines On what planet is Eddie Kendricks underrated? That term is so OVERUSED. I hate to see the accomplishments of artists diminished with words like underrated. Eddie Kendricks was heard by millions of listeners and was constantly praised by critics. There are phenomenal falsetto singers who never even get the chance to record. The music industry is much more difficult than people realize - Eddie Kendricks beat the odds in a game where there are very few slots for success.
TruthSerum101 For people my age which is 20's he doesn't get half the praise he deserves as a solo artist. You are absoulutely right he beat the odds and thanks to unsung people can appreciate this aritist more. Its not to disrespect an artist to be called underated. but to call out the critics and their choices to ignore some artist while praise others. I hope you understand where I am coming from. I love Eddie Kendricks and have all his work...and I just wish all music could be broadcasted equally, and giving the level of praise it deserves
This is SOUL!!!
I can remember my mother playing this song when I was growing up. Listening to it as an adult really put things into perspective
Some days when I play this song it makes me fill up with tears as the words remind me of someone that has gone through a painful experience
Eddie had such a lovely, calm and peaceful voice as a male singer. His legacy lives on. RIP Legend

Each day I cry a little too
A voice that has such an impact on me, a master of the ballad...his whisper had the emotional impact of a full blow hurricane, this is such a beautiful dignified plea to a lost love...heart breaking..like all of his motown albums, the production is beautiful and his magnificent voice is given full reign and it is a gorgeous rich and intoxicating sound. Much missed, but a treasure trove of sounds left behind..Thanks for posting...
