    I got my Asus rog swift 240Hz Oled a few months back its also my first 240Hz experience.
    I'm pretty sure it has the same panel as the KTC one and I'm just gonna say it's unreal everything feels like its three dimensional the depth is so good and seems like it's happening in real time and the colours and contrast are like nothing else.
    my intentions at first was to have it as my main with the old 144Hz 2k IPS as a secondary monitor but I'm so blown away by the Oled that every IPS seems dull and grey, I can't stare at it anymore.
    edit : I actually wrote this comment before watching the entire video, it's hilarious how ur experience is similar to mine xd

    These screws are propably for VESA mount. Anyway great monitor, i like how many features it has and it comes with accesories. I hope prices of OLED will start droping down and we will get some 500 Euro options... unfortunatelly manufacturers are artificially increasing prices by making it 360hz and giving it "premium" branding like AORUS or Alienware. All i want is 4k 120Hz for HDR experience and colour accuracy.

    • @RurouTube
      @RurouTube 6 місяців тому

      @@AncientGameplays It is probably not just screws but standoffs for the actual screws since at least from the video, the screw holes were recessed thus if you don't use the standoffs, you need to use the correct screw length and probably the Vesa mount plate will press itself to the body of the display which might not be structural.

    I searched how bright this monitor can get and it can hit 900nits 1% window and 660nits 10% window, that is crazy for a monitor. I love oleds I've always wanted one but the only thing that puts me off the most is screen burn since I mostly do gaming. I wonder if this company offer a 10 year screen burn guarantee like lg does?
    A good VA panel with a high contrast ratio will always beat IPS panels for blacks. VA panels are the second best for contrast. Only thing that could help black levels on a IPS set up is led strips behind the monitor, this helps with blacks a hell of a lot.

    • @jkeez959
      @jkeez959 6 місяців тому +1

      no way in any universe a tech company gives u a 10 year guarantee for such thing as burn in
      even an ips will have burn in if miss used.
      and from my experience with oleds i had a samsung note 4 for like 4 years in the past with 0 burn in before it broke and now I have a tab s6 since 2019 with a heavy use as a laptop replacement for college and as a media consumption it's like my go to to watch anything on the bed again with no burn in at all
      my recommendation is if u want an oled have one but be extra carful with it as u are most likely gonna be with most ur expensive gadgets

      @@jkeez959 I seen it a while back about the 10 year burn in warranty, one of my friend is oled obssessed and he keeps going on about this 10 year warranty for screen burn. Just done a quick Google search and seen lg does 5 year cover now and others are saying 10 years.
      Yeah i mean that's why I'm a bit scared to go oled just with it being a fragile technology, the organic LEDs are so sensitive to heat so a lot of experts are saying not to max the brightness on the TV over long periods of time etc etc, 90% of content these days like netflix, Disney, prime is all hdr/Dolby vision which needs the brightness maxed for good hdr same with games, static images can also be an issue. My friend always says it has a pixel settings which helps with screen burn but if you look on rtings website even the latest oleds have some sort of screen burn after heavy use.
      I've alway went QLED, they still have amazing contrast and the blacks still look amazing maybe not on oleds level but you don't have to worry about burn in etc, with QLED being va panels they seem to be immune to burn in plus lcd panels get insanely bright, oled not so much.
      That's why I mention led strips for behind the TV, I've got the QLED Samsung Q80B and it turned the blacks from really good to inky black which insane, it definitely helps. Yeah I agree with IPS they can suffer from it too plus they have the worst contrast ratio and panel uniformity issues out of all TVs or monitors.
      I've got a 165hz IPS panel and a 144hz curved va panel and it's night and day looking at them.

      @@xwar_88x30 you are not gonna be using any monitor for more than 5 years before
      you are most likely gonna upgrade it any way.
      any new monitor is likely to have a function breaking hardware or software failure just as its likely to have burn in or for a gpu or any electronic in general is likely to just fail,
      burn in is really overlooked.
      u might search on google for ppl who have burn in in their oleds at the same time u will find tons and tons ppl with all kinds of new pc parts related problems

    About the text clarity problem not all oleds have that problem and has nothing to do with being oled but rather just LG oled sub-pixel choice...
    Samsung QD-oled 4 example is fine and probably all phones\tablets oleds are also not WRGB since the very begining.
    WRGB also ruins the color volume sadly cause on bright colors content theres a white "alien" sub-pixel that should never have been there but Im guessing LG did it for longevity but nowadays it probably hurts more than what it helps ☹️

    • @AncientGameplays
      @AncientGameplays  6 місяців тому +1

      ALL (and I repeat) ALL OLED have worse text clarity than good IPS panels. In 2024 we'll have better text clarity not only from LG, but also from Samsung gladly!

    • @AncientGameplays

      @@AncientGameplays some current models have good text clarity tested by monitors unboxed. Also on phones and tablets even though they use strange pixel arrangements also look pretty good despite not being the best...
      Anyway some day we might get much cheaper true RGB oleds with inkjet printed ones which they sadly keep delaying.

    • @or1on89
      @or1on89 6 місяців тому

      The problem with fringing is caused by how text is rendered. So the blame is 50/50 with how ClearText works on Windows.
      Smartphones use AMOLED panels which is a different technology and it is true RGB but it is not suitable for large panels. To this day W-OLED panels with MLA offer a better reproduction than QDOLED, according to people who calibrate monitors for work and not UA-cam. The problem is how much they cost.
      The only QDOLED display looking better was a Sony TV and Sony this year is dropping the ball with QDOLED because of its costs, which is a shame. Apparently there is a lot of defective panels and it's easier to have image retention with QDOLEDS.
      So, summing up:
      - All OLEDS have problematic text clarity because Windows lacks the software support for it (with macOS the fringing is almost non existent compared to Windows)
      - It's not always true that W-OLED == loss of color volume, but it is true that some QDOLEDS == gain in color volume but loss in brightness and shitty coating
      - QDOLEDs still have the same issues of first gen, smaller pixels and new software mitigations make them better but they're still not suitable for "office work" while W-OLED seem to have done zero progress from last year in that department.
      In my opinion a good IPS with MBR and at least 165Hz is a better option for office+game until all of these things are sorted out, especially the software support from Windows...there is almost certainty to experience image retention or subpar clarity until then which is unconceivable in 800+ euros worth of monitor.

      @guily6669 6 місяців тому

      @@or1on89 not all phones use Amoled... Both my tablet and phone are non Amoled and in fact in the case of my phone from TCL I believe they are using their own first Oled panels since it's already getting old.
      About the text clarity some models have good text clarity, not the best but still very usable unlike the WRGB...
      The MLA really did improve it but I actually think before LG was talking about it TCL was already talking about similar stuff for their mini-led TVs with the lenses on top of the LEDs so the MLA in theory is just a general thing that would likely improve things whether its LCD or Oled.
      The QD-oled still looks pretty amazing and has very nice colour volume but I agree that their coating sucks but in terms of longevity the latest Samsung gen of it tested by rtings is massively better than I ever thought even before they ever shown the 1st gen cause the Oled that burns fastest by far is blue yet they really did improve the Oled ingredients that lately even Samsung blue longevity is pretty good.
      Anyway for my TV I went for Hisense U8K but on phones and tablets I'm never going back to LCD and if I could buy a good Oled monitor of 1440P 27inch with good text clarity and non intrusive ABL for 500eur I'd buy one right away, for 1000eur or anywhere close they can shove them in some place cause LG Oled 48inch "C" version have already been in promotions for 899eur so why would I pay 1000eur and sometimes more for a damn 1440P 27 inch oled with even like 80% of features cut...
      Ps: when they go much more down in price I'd totally move to OLED and never go back to IPS.

    So Fabio has not really looked for the issues when using the windows dark mode then? I would not recommend any "computer nerd" ie us that cant use any light themed os an woled because of the issues they have with gray/dark gray shades. the gray/dark gray shades, ie shades just before it gets pure black are looking "dirty". To me it looks like black "interlaced" lines we had on crt monitors but a bit thicker in those shades, definitely a deal breaker for us dark mode users(what else would a computer nerd use"
    Until that issue is fixed no woled should be recommended as a monitor, that is if u are not only 24/7 gaming on it that is.
    to spot the issue just open up an folder and then u might see the issue on the empty space of the folder, for me it was darker horizontal lines, and it is present on all the woled based monitors.

    • @AncientGameplays
      @AncientGameplays  6 місяців тому

      Sincerely? I didn't really notice those "issues" especially while gaming. On Windows it was also fine for me. It isn't perfect with gray shades but far from bad, and I never noticed it besides windows.
      i do need to test more OLED monitors to make sure of things though

      @@AncientGameplays It is an issue that not many reviewers actually talk about, sometimes they mention it, in a passer by way so to speak, just for a sec and then they dont talk about it more during the review, but it is such a big issue to me and from the looks of it some users as well that they returned their monitors, including me.
      If the shade is not solid it is a nope for me, heck no lcd monitors of mine, including my VA panel that can have this issue display it.
      Was such a let down in this regard but I was at least much more competitive with the oled compare to even my 390hz acer. Wish current oled already were 360 or 480hz and no issues with darker shades in desktop use though.

      @@Pillokun each monitor has a weakpoint/downside. OLED is far superior in every metric and worth it for any perceived grey issues. I don't see grids on my LG 48" C2, because I'm not sitting right next to it. It's such a non-issue and I'm the sort of guy that sent back multiple LG IPS based monitors in past for dust contamination.
      I've seen pictures of the smaller monitors with it and it's bad, but not all WOLED IPS suffers from this, because at correct distance with a 4k panel, it's basically invisible.

    Our idea of affordable or great value, differs greatly. $700 for a 27" anything, is not affordable nor a great value unless you are living in a high income situation. An affordable and great value 27" monitor would be in the $100-$150 range.
