@@L133.7 most anti-virus for android are simple data mining tools that uses systems resources and serve you ads. You don't need an anti-virus for android. An app can't have all the access unless you are rooted. Make sure no unnecessary permissions are given. Don't download apps you don't recognize. No third party apps unless they are trusted. Now if you are rooted and get a malware, that could be a huge problem and it might bind itself with the system files. Have to flash the rom again in that case. Remember Android doesn't give root access by default.

My dad might have some android malware on his phone. Ever since he installed two certain apps, which both asked for unnecessary permissions, and slowed down his phone. The battery has also been terrible.

Um, yeah I think this happened to me once when I had an Android. I have an iPhone now, but when I was a kid, probably 8 or 9 I’ve downloaded an app that helps people with Math.
I got the app and then INSTANTLY I felt uneasy because the app icon disappeared, and when I tried to use the app, I instantly got kicked out of the app and my Android tablet started to heat up and go low on battery.
Luckily, I found the app through the search bar on my Android tablet and deleted it in a heart beat. 😫😒😖

Funfact:i actually installed one of the apps when i was younger and the phone did not work properly, the phone was gliching and the battery was broken but the icon did appear.
These kind of games I downloaded one of them to play with my brother in 2015 and ended up ruining our tablet a day I'll never forget

Once I found a racing app and downloaded it and on the loading screen had a loading bar, on the top of the loading bar it read: downloading personal data and saving phone calls. What da frick were they thinking when they made this app. I immediately uninstalled it. My best guess is if the app ever gets into a lawsuit for malware they can reference the loading screen message and say that they told the user the app would infect their phone with malware so they would win the lawsuit. Another thing that supports my idea is in the description in tiny tiny font it read: disclaimer: this app may not contain content that the user many find satisfying. Also the name of the game was this (not exact name because it happend a few years ago): super car racing Drifting turbo car battle simulator. That name sounds kinda sketchy. In around 2017, I had a 2013 phone and in the middle of the night suddenly I was on UA-cam and I got a notification, it was downloading something named "credit card id, password, data, contacts" and what not. As soon as I saw it, I was scared as hell, I immediately took out the battery and killed the phone. I touched it after a week.

The car simulator veneno is a game owned by the russian company, Oppana Games (OG) that i've played on my old tablet, but it was fine, it appeared right there, an game that simulates a lambo driving with 360 view inside the car, with interact items like Radio, Doors, Hood, Horn and more. You can even play multiplayer, there is car customization aswell, you can also refuel the car, but maybe someone copied that game.
The games that were shown were mostly made for targeting children.

As he said, the apps were downloading the malware from the internet. The package you installed from google play was malware-free. To protect you from this kind of malware, you need a real-time protection antivirus, wich google doesen't provide by default.

Oh this explains how i used to get random ADVERTISMENTS without using any apps just like that, i still have that phone. My suspect was an editing app, a "Star Video Screen Recording/ Editor app" I think, the icon disaphered, but, there were never permission tabs asking. It just installed. Scariest thing, my screen turned red every 5 minutes saying, "coming"
I used to download these kinds of games on my tablet I think but I later got an iPad and haven’t played it in years lol. It was so slow.
Just for some perspective on how much harder it is to get an iOS app published over an Android app, the Apple developer account costs $99/year and the Android developer account is a one time fee of $20. This is at least what it used to be. I haven’t done any serious app development in a while, so I don’t know what it’s like now.

I know why my old tablet’s battery died so quickly. I downloaded the 3rd one and later my tablet wouldn’t charge even when plugged in, it would just deplete.
I almost downloaded a virus onto my iPad, sadly I forgot the name but always remember to look at the reviews
