Personally i like the idea of these companies being at each others throats, i think all in all having these companies competing with each other is what will ultimately drive innovation and would get them to make better products faster. this would be a win for consumers, it would be a lot better than the apple and google duopoly that we have at the moment.

Have fun using a phone that only has a small fraction of apps that of Google. While it will work in China just fine, it won't in the West. That move will only ensure Huawei returns to where it came from - China. I used it for some time, two different models. Never again. Total waste of money.
I heavily use google map and WhatsApp, so huawei is not for me.
At least until huawei can provide service on par with Google map, then i will consider using their os

@@alexliu5806 that's the irony. Huawei built its own OS because it had to, not because it wanted to. And I reckon it will probably do better than Tizen. Which is, admittedly, a low bar, but still.

Looking at the icons (4:24) gives me flashbacks to Galaxy Note 3 and 4 when they first added this software and used S Note for the S Pen and all those apps are so nostalgic.

I'm on a S10 dual sim international running lineage os 18.1 (stock android) + google apps, rooted, blacked out with AdAway installed, Viper4Android Audio Exynos. 8gb variant.
Newer phones are just cameras with less features and more bloatware.
If they built software how most people want it, I wouldn't have to root my phone. Running Stock on Samsung is a dream come true saving me hrs of modification. Thanks for the video Aaron. Hopefully they hear us.

I love the xbox game streaming service, I played resident evil 7 on my galaxy tab s6 lite and there was zero lag and hardly any frame rate issues plus the library is quite big catering to everyone and that's just the beta version of the app, I can't wait to see what the full app will have.

I do wonder, given the partnership between Samsung and Microsoft, could we see Samsung bring about the return of windows mobile to leave google? it'd fit with the DEX that theyre pushing, and would allow for desktop apps to be run on a smartphone
With Samsung, I do like being able to choose whether to use a Google app or a Samsung app. Sometimes I prefer the Samsung alternative. Bloatware isn't necessarily an issue either, if your phone has 256 gigabytes, 512 GB, or even 1 TB of storage. I also liked using Google Assistant as my primary assistant, and being able to use Bixby in addition to Google Assistant for Samsung specific apps or hardware-related tasks

personal opinion, i like the samsung UI more, its really flexible and comfortable to use. ive used it since so long that i cant use any other os anymore
Well good on Google, I have a Google Pixel 4a myself and it's by far the best Phone I've ever had... Damn fast and smooth, good size overall, HEADPHONE JACK and it was fairly cheap as well 👍 only issue is that it didn't have its own default Music App (to play my owned music that I have on the phone itself, not streaming) and even though I've found one on the Google Play Store it doesn't come close to what I had as default on my previous Sony Xperia XA2 (I mean OF COURSE Sony had a killer Music App and Camera 🤷♂️)

From the beginning I used phones after android 4.4 KitKat and from that time I liked touchwiz more than the stock google
From the start I feel the stock ui of google kinda trash compared to the touchwiz and after android 6 the touchwiz became more enjoyable for me rather than the google ui

Can't remember coronavirus really threw us off here for a bit.

GrapheneOS as recommended by Snowden only runs on Google Pixel and the Pixel 4a just came out and is about the same price as the Samsung a series. Cos of the currency exchange in Australia the Samsung a71 cost $750 Australian, same price as an iphone 11 in the USA, that's why I seem real poor compared to you guys. I can't afford an iphone 11! But actually I could.

interesting. I have an aging 9+, which is fine for my needs except that I notice the battery degradation. I find Bixby, especially with the dedicated button, very annoying. I have been considering the Pixel to escape all the bloatware. I don't use Samsung apps.

I would like samsung and other phone brands to have the option to choose what you want to use: samsung services, google services, microsoft services, etc. I use, apart from youtube and play store, only microsoft applications.
While using Microsoft Edge, onedrive, etc. on my phone are still apps like Google Chrome, Google Drive, etc.
These apps take up space that I can use for something else

That's the problem, if they become unstoppable then they're gonna have a monopoly and wouldn't develop phones for competition. We want competition because it reduces the price and improves quality over time......
Agree. The problem with wanting to engineer the greatest phone with the services available now is that the cooperation would stagger competition and future development.
You are right. It seems like a double-edged sword doesn’t it. When there’s competition the true winners are the consumers. But there’s no ecosystem that rivals Apple’s ecosystem and the one that comes closest is the Galaxy ecosystem. With each iteration of their phones, Samsung phones are becoming more ominous a suitable alternative as they expand their ecosystem.
Samsung+google barely able to even the market against apple/ios. Individually, they pose no threat to apple, though google stands a better chance than samsung. We saw how google nexuses and google pixels did in the competition against apple and ios over the years. Google still needs samsung's hand. More so now that apple has released more and more mid range iphones.

I will say team google as I have experienced a samsung phone and it has a ton of bloatware which some you can't even delete and some which you can delete, and also everytime an update comes from Play Store, Galaxy store acts up and downloads some other apps which I can delete. After seeing google pixel phone I was suprised that it is totally bloatware free, and also very easy to navigate and use.

would be damn cool to have a samsung OS that's actually good, so that apps would be optimized better just like instagram on apple devices
Samsung mail has a feature that allows emails to be sorted based on criteria including alphabetically by sender which makes it like microsoft outlook without the need to pay a subscription fee for Microsoft 365. It could supplement usage of of Outlook for a 365 subscriber that does not want to be tethered to a computer just to be able to sort and declutter their email inbox.

That's the great thing about the Android open platform; competition between all the OEMs to make the best mobile device.
It's always been PC brands vs PC brands vs Mac, it's been the same with Android brands vs Android brands but I think it's a great thing. I don't buy Apple products because you have pretty much zero choice.

@@moonykash I 100% disagree with him though. The fact that Samsung makes their own feature-packed alternatives to scroogle's services is one of the MAJOR reasons why I LOVE my Note 8. I have the freedom and ease to get rid of all the scroogle data-mining spyware services, and stick with miles more feature-packed privacy-friendly alternatives from Samsung.
I, frankly, would NEVER have switched from over half a decade of using just jailbroken iPhones to Android (on a OnePlus One in 2014, then a Note 8, my first ever Samsung Smartphone, in 2017) if the pitifully-limited, and privacy-invasive stock Android experience were all that was available on the platform. Unlike Arun, there are many who value privacy, and Samsung gives us the choice with their devices. It's just cringe-worthy when I hear or read folks calling Samsung's feature-packed and privacy-friendly services "bloatware", and/or crying that Samsung should replace ALL their services with scroogle's 24/7 data-mining services...
On top of that, the time that scroogle spends looking for new ways to mine user data, Samsung uses that time to build more innovative and useful features that won't appear in the pitifully-limited stock Android for 5+ years. Case in point; literally EVERYTHING "new" to the pitifully-limited stock Android 11 has been on my 2017 Note 8 with Android 7 right out of the box!

I am on Samsung's side, it can import android apps, has more features, better hardware and nice looking os. Incredible they could manage that.
