Every time I watch this fight I still think Persoon won!!

Every specialist or ex-pro boxer at ringside had it a draw or win for Persoon. I scored it a draw myself. A pity that so many fans of Katie (also in the comments here) still haven't realized that the 'majority win' decision was a robbery. Great fight tho, looking forward to the fight tonight. My prediction is Katie to win now, I have the feeling it was a one shot opportunity for Delfine last year.
Katie Taylor is not only one gutsy & exciting fighter, she's got a terrific & very "classy" demeanor . May the best champion warrior triumph in tonite's (4/30/22) showdown btw her & Amamda Serrano at MSG. Good luck to both !
This was not only a robbery on points, it should have been a TKO victory for Persoon in round number 10 !!! So many unanswered shots !!!
Round ten sure was teetering on that edge.(last moments),reminded me of Bute' vs Andrade in Montreal.(Minus the knock down)

She was getting beaten up in the last round definitely, but even in the last seconds she was still returning punches. I think if it went another round or two she'd lose but that was not tko, crazy
Looking at the punch stats Taylor actually won rounds 1-6 and Persoon won rounds 7-10 with the 10th the most dominant. Actually funnily enough the rematch Persoon was closer to winning in punch stats yet lost in UD. In the rematch the punches thrown was a way bigger difference compared to this fight. But the main issue in both fights is that yes Persoon throws a lot but her accuracy is also low.
It's a championship fight, stoppages shouldn't be called unless absolutely necessary. She was still standing and very alert just gassed that doesnt call for stoppage as she wasnt technically hurt or being hurt by the punches themselves. Ref had her eye on it and did an amazing job giving taylor the chance to hold on it was the very end of the round and zero point to stop if she wasn't hurt.
I can't believe Katie's team allowed you guys to upload this, I had to dig out from daily motion. Fantastic fight and the re-watch actually made me flip my pick from Taylor UD to Persoon UD/Late stoppage. (given fair scorecards)

I had 5 rds-3 rds persoon with 2 wild card rounds that could've gone either way so I think the fairest you could've called this war of a fight was a draw, especially a championship fight where its tradition to beat the champion decisively. But judges look for different things and score based on preference so I mean its easy to say "fixed" rather than its just how it was scored and is part of the game. If you zig you always should've zagged and vice versa. Every close fight like this happens that way.
I still cannot believe just how gripping, gruelling and full of action that this fight was. It was far more exciting than the Joshua vs Ruiz main event! I say exactly the same for Taylor vs Persoon 2, which totally stole the show from the Co main event!
As for this fight, both ladies were superb at executing their respective styles, it is just that Delfine's robust and physical style overcame and wore Katie down. In the clinches Delfine was just so strong and ragdolled Katie about, and she was so rough up close too. Her background in judo likely helped, as Delfine is so used to wrestling up close and having physical contact and manoeuvring opponents about.
Delfine is still my favourite fighter, and her against Michaela Meyer, a catch weight with Savannah Marshall or Taylor 3 would be dream fights 😍

The fight is fixed, I'm convinced. Katie Taylor was getting badly bitten in every round and she won?!!
Also commentators were very prejudiced, cheering Taylor and not saying anything when Persoon was landing punches.

Here is one attempted shoulder barge for example, 10:22. On the Sky highlights you can see one perfectly and landing.
If there is any of these rounds you strongly disagree with I'm happy to go through the round in detail with anybody. Anybody who thinks this wasn't a close fight is being very silly and maybe allowing emotions to guide their judgements.

The way Taylor fought in round 6 was spot on, let her walk into shots, fight small the body shots were there for her all night but she was machine gunning to the head and getting smothered, her trainer was right what he was saying, move off in angles smack that exposed body/ribs

i don't see any victory in the whole 39:50 minutes. I only see 2 great and brave fighters fighting with equal strenght.
Its a clear win for Katie. 4-0 in first 4 rounds that is 40-36.5th round draw 49-36, 6-7th round Katie 69-54, for being aggressive Persoon for 8th round 78-64, close round but clean punches for Katie 9th round 88-73, Persoo wins 10th round 98-83.

Joshua came from UK to Miami,then to MSG and had a bad night.
I to am sensitive to flux..June 1st 2019,right DIRECTLY at 10pm,our seasonal pattern changed for good with humidity and pressure moving in terrible ,will drain the finest..Normally I keep in Elite condition, but June 1st I felt it bad being one hour east of MSG...Ali and Holmes (together) trained here in Penna for same exact reason.Right at 10pm it got sticky,pressure built,and I wondered who would notice..Joshua coming through three different pattern's while Ruiz only adjusted from California to NYC (1)...(Joshua noticed and was effected)..What I mean,I hope where ever the match is tonight,hope all fighters are adjusted for a honest match.Persoon did win the last round,was almost like the Bute' vs Andrade match in Montreal that time...lol....Katie almost dumped in round 10 from exhaustion..LOVE THIS SPORT...
This was a rig. Big time. Persoon should have won. But that's America for ya, I'm guessing there was too much money involved to call it a win for Persoon. Guess what, I'm not following any more boxing untill this has a proper ending. Taylor is a good boxer, but Persoon was better.

The two fights between these ladies were so incredible that I would love to see a trilogy. Katie seems to prefer a rematch with Serrano, which would undoubtedly be fight of the year if she can overcome Cameron, which I have my doubts about, but her against Persoon would be better still. I honestly think that Delfine equalises Katie's boxing superiority by having a vastly better physicality, in terms of fitness, ruggedness and strength. Delfine can box a bit too 😉💪🥊
How the hell did one of commentators score the fight 97-93 for Taylor? We all know it was a close fight but it was either a marginal win for Persoon or a draw. Having Taylor winning by four rounds is madness.

Phew! Tough one to score really and not the robbery it was made out to be. Could see it a round either way or a draw which is how the cards read. It was the classic case of one fighter, in Taylor, nicking rounds and one in Persoon, winning rounds big and making a big impression. That's when you always get calls of a robbery. Just watched some of these rounds twice while scoring this and I'd have hated being a judge.
funny how the favorite always gets the decision when it is a close fight. that is when it is pretty obvious that the judges had some outside influences, monetary or otherwise.

FINALLY! A good female match! I salute the courage of both of them. I'd have to watch it a couple of more times to say who won, but Delphine was for sure the more entertaining one. 😮 i haven't watched the decision yet but I'm very curious as to which one gets the nod. 😅
Katie Taylor Clenches, then Headbutts everyone she fights, everytime she is getting beaten, never gets points taken away for her dirty boxing. Not a fan, watched several fights, so far it's the same thing in every one of them
Katie was always short on stamina in her fights, she was prone to fatigue far too early, and she always looked tired (and i'm a fan).

It's a sport. Not a street fight. There are rules as to how the sport is scored. Walking through punches Rocky Balboa style still loses you points even if you're so tough you don't feel them.

If you do not appreciate the sport for what it is then I think you need to look elsewhere. Brazil had underground cage fighting competitions which were last man standing with no rounds and almost no rules. You'd probably like it more

I was a bit shocked watching this for the first time today. Always heard it was robbery but I thought Taylor won. Persoon was the aggressor, but the shot accuracy and damage came from Taylor. Persoons face at the end says it all for me.

Anybody who watches this fight round by round, with the sound off, and scores clean punches landed with a pen and paper, knows that this was a close fight

I scored the fight 96-94 for Taylor. I believe Taylor won 6 rounds (1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7). Persoon won 4 rounds (5, 8, 9, 10). At least, that is how I saw it.

So, no, she didn't take the fight away from Taylor. The commentators failed to mention all the punches that Persoon missed because of Taylor's skills. So, Katie Taylor earned it.

As a pro martial artist in the days of underground fights before MMA was legal My record 31 -0 them joined military later on. I seen the fight in Persoon and Taylor both outstanding but in that fight Persoon all the way. I would fire the judges or reprimand them for suspension terrible call in my book.
Don't know to much about boxing but Persoon had that. The bell saved Taylor. Might be bias being Belgian but Taylor was hardy standing at the end of it. Yes Taylor had the early rounds but Persoon was the one still standing solid at the end of it. You don't win the match in early rounds do you ? Last person standing no ?
No. What would the point of winning early rounds be if they didn't count. It's a sport which is scored on a round by round basis, the first round is worth the same amount of points as the last. Who looks the most tired or hurt after round ten does not factor into the scoring.

Besides de judges during the fight, all international comments were 3/4 for Persoons to win that fight.
