I think that one round makes some people think that, but Katie won the first round and the last 3. The others were very close. You can get smoked on one round, but it still comes down to each individual round.
Dunno what fight you watched but there's 4 clear rounds to Taylor. 2 to Serrano. Of the rest Taylor has the best of 3 of them. So Taylor by 2 rounds at least.

There was no way that Amanda Serrano was up 5-1 in the first 6 rounds. Maybe 4-2, or 3-3, but not 5-1. It's like the commentators were only watching one fighter the entire match. I will say this, if Amanda Serrano would have managed to knock Katie down in round 6, she would have won a close decision, but instead she took her foot off the gas, and it cost her the fight. Katie showed a ton of heart in this fight to come back from a deficit. Actually both of them showed why they are the best at what they do. This is what it looks like when two equally skilled fighters face each other in the ring. I was so happy that it didn't end with a quick KO, or TKO due to a crucial mistake by one of them. I love to see fights like this go the distance, and at the end of the day, women's boxing won, period.

When I watched the fight live, I thought that Serrano won by simply being the aggressor majority of the fight and hurting Katie mid fight. But rewatching it, I see that Katie was controlling distance and Serrano was swinging at air while getting countered. The only times she had success was when Katie gave up positioning or started trading with her. But even Katie got the best of some of them exchanges.

Atmosphere, tension&excitement, intesity of the fight and after the fight warm words and mutual respect between the fighters. Not a fan of boxing, but this fight is EPIC. Winner could have been any of these two. But actually: I don't even care about the result.
At Jake Poul's evening there will be neutral judges and they will undoubtedly see Serrano as the winner, the normal public sees beyond nationality or skin color.
Having watched the Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano fight a couple of days ago, this popped up on UA-cam this morning. Whilst their recent fight was very exciting, this one was simply awesome. How Katie survived the onslaught in round 5 and come back to win was incredible. Without doubt one of THE best fights I`ve ever seen!
Amanda's punches were wild while the Katei's punches were , mostly all scoring. Reason was Katei was an Olympic Gold Medalist in 2012 . She was playing calculatively while Amanda was wild & relying upon her brutal force only . Thanks.

Atmosphere, tension&excitement, intesity of the fight and after the fight warm words and mutual respect between the fighters. Not a fan of boxing, but this fight is EPIC. Winner could have been any of these two. But actually: I don't even care about the result.

Having watched the Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano fight a couple of days ago, this popped up on UA-cam this morning. Whilst their recent fight was very exciting, this one was simply awesome. How Katie survived the onslaught in round 5 and come back to win was incredible. Without doubt one of THE best fights I`ve ever seen!
Amanda's punches were wild while the Katei's punches were , mostly all scoring.
Reason was Katei was an Olympic Gold Medalist in 2012 . She was playing calculatively while Amanda was wild & relying upon her brutal force only . Thanks.

I don't have a clue how you scored the first to amanda. Aggression is not the same as effective aggression. Taylor controlled that round. I don't see how you got 7-3 Amanda honestly. Was a close fight but taylor won most of the rounds.

I don't think Taylor won. She was almost knocked out a few times. Amanda should have kept the pressure to ensure the win. She gave away two rounds.
Fight of the 20's by a mile! Taylor win this one 100%, how she survived that body shot was amazing. Kudos to Serrano, two of THE best female fighters. WOW! This was electric, big thanks to the announcer, what a show! WOW!

One of the greatest fights I've ever watched live. Close and competitive but such a clear winner in terms of rounds won. Katie was way ahead on rounds. Not dominating the rounds but winning them.
