If its still not working, shut off you ps4 after doing everything in the video then try turning on your ps4 with the controller's home button while its plugged in. Some guy said to do it and it actually worked so give it a shot xD

What actually worked 4 me was to pull out the power chord while it was in rest mode, wait 10 seconds then turn it back on and my controller reconnected immediately
(this one worked for me so if people are still having problems with connecting, try this out)
PROBLEM FIXED: If you have a second controller, you'll need it. Otherwise, borrow one.
1. Use the working controller and go to Settings>Devices>Bluetooth devices. Make sure you only see the working controller under the devices.
2. On the non-working controller, hold the share button for 5 seconds, and then hold the PS button at the same time until you see the light bar flash twice every second or so.
3. You will now see both devices, working(connected, green light) and non-working(no green light). Using the working controller, select the second one and it will begin pairing. "Please wait.." Will appear. After this, it will ask to connect the new device. Select "yes" and you're done.

Easy fix: plug in your ps4 controller to your ps4. Power it on, and if it either turns on, but doesn't respond, or blinks then shuts down, or shows orange then shuts down, read this. While your controller is connected with a USB, unplug the ps4 cable that is connected to the wall. Then, plug it back in. Turn on your ps4 controller, and you're done! Subscribe if I helped! :D

I need help so i reset my Ps4 and i am trying to connect my blue Dualshock controller and it is not connecting i used the reset button on the back of the controller and it didn't do anything i plug the controller in with the USB Cable i got with the PS4 and it shows the charging color and when i press the PS button it blinks a light blue color for about 3 or 2 seconds and goes to no color please help right away

My friend & I use different controllers on my system for GTA5 PS4 online. One day the system only recognized the one controller. This also creates problems with changing users. It glitched to make my character malfunction including having the cars only go in reverse at full speed. We used on controller until seeing your video. It took about 3 attempts to reset but finally am able to use my controller. Hopefully my friend can use her controller? I will try hers later. TY

I had the same problem, all I did was power off my PS4 while charging my controller with it. Doing this will reset both your controller and PS4 then you should be all set :)

I've tried everything in the video and my controllers still don't connect. I only use one for Ps3 and the other is a backup so I don't know why my backup controller won't work. I've pressed the reset button with both the ps4 charger and my phone charger, but still nothing happens. is there anything else I can do?
Okay, I've fixed it. I used the ps app to connect to my playstation, go to devices, delete both devices from the BT, then reconnected them using the share and home buttons. I really don't know why it both controllers did that, but now happy that I have a solution if this ever turns up again

If your ps4 controller is just flashing once, try connecting it to your ps4 when it's on then turn off your ps4 by hand then once off turn it on with your controller by hitting the home button.

Omg thank you so much for this video! My dad bought me a new dualshock for my birthday, and when we went to connect it wasn't working. We fully charged it, so we couldn't understand why it wasn't working. Turned out the cable we were using to try and connect it wasn't working, oops. It helped me so much I got so scared because my controller won't connect to my ps4 but this helped alot
Completely turn off ps4 ( so it doesnt say ps4 was unplugged inproperly) unplug for 10 - 30 mins, Plug back in and power up with controller attach by usb, annoying but i have about a 90% success rate. I believe the problem here isnt that controllers arent connecting but the ps4 isnt registering them as connected. ( i can turn my ps4 on wirelessly with the controller but i cant press ps button on the start up screen) like if this worked.

For anyone who is using this method without success, here's what worked for me:
Use another controller
Go to settings
Devices
Bluetooth devices
Select the controller not working
Forget the device
Reset the controller just in case by pressing the button in the back
While plugged in, turn on not functioning controller
Using controller that works, go back into Devices and select the controller that should now be found by your PS4.
Connect the device
Cry some tears of joy, and enjoy your gaming!

I completely unplugged the ps4 and then reset the controller and then plugged the controller in the usb then it worked like a charm hope that helps!
