Had a controller keyboard combo made by logitech for the PS2 back in the day. It was made for MMOs of the time, specifically Final Fantasy XI in my case. It worked so well and the keyboard itself was removable from the controller frame so it could be used on its own. Wish mainstream companies would still make these wacky but functional peripherals. Some of these niche companies are just too hit or miss.
Honestly though, I would struggle to find any reason to recommend this thing to anyone, you can get a FAR better macro pad for roughly $25-$50 (depending on location) and also use a better keyboard. My moded k552 kumara was roughly $130 after moving (this is canadian rubles) and a $50 14 button 2 dial macro pad is cheaper than that thing and far more useful
This could be really useful as a couch keyboard for a media center pc. I would still want it to work as a real controller too for the perfect all in one option.
There are so many good media keyboards with good trackpads that I wouldn't even consider it an option. You're right it would have some value if it was a good controller.
Couch keyboard was my first thought, except, it doesn't appear to be wireless. And that joystick is pathetic. A wireless version of this that had an actually good joystick would be an awesome alternative to the crappy touchpad that's on the k400's.
It's also quite heavy for that use-case. At 500-800g maybe, but 1.5kg can get uncomfortable over time. It looks like it also has some rather sharp edges on the bottom that wouldn't be great on your lap
I get this vibe from this product. It's like they wanted to make it for like the meme but they were scared to commit to a full controller keyboard combo out of fear that the fanatical minimalist obsessed keyboard community would call it gimmick and boycott them. So they half committed to whatever this is.
I love the idea of this but it would be awesome if you could attach the movement analog stick under the space bar kind of aligned with WASD. I suck at video games on KBM and realized one day it mostly came down to having to use WASD for movement. So I butchered an old xbox controller I had laying around and made my own analog stick attachment for my keyboard and it greatly improved my gameplay!!
Lots of games will just let you use what I call "Dual input" where it lets you use two control methods at once. Halo MCC is not one of those games, infuriatingly.
@@blunderingfool I haven't ran into any issues using two inputs at once in the games I play atleast. Also if the game I am playing has no controller/gamepad support at all I just use reWASD or antimicro and it works fine.
