This is currently happening to a man named "Hassan Al Kontar". Who is also living in a airport terminal in Malaysia due to the same issues faced as Sir Alfred.
Hassan Al Kontar case is not even special like Alfred. Hassan is ego and stupid. I dont care if my word choices are rude. He bought a ticket to transit in KL. And in KLIA, he decided not to board the next flight that he should be taking. Some people said, he should fly to Sydney. But others said to Auckland. Lets just say, nobody knows. He applied for refugee status. And he was offered help from the Malaysian govt, Indonesian govt, Australian govt and even French govt. He turned all of them down. He ONLY WANTS refugee status to live and stay in Canada. So he is being an idiot. Total idiot to be honest. And he made it sounds like Malaysia is a bad country. And everyone sympathise him without knowing the true story. Canadian embassy in Malaysia said, it will take at least 9 months to process his refugee status because he 'is currently staying in a country that is considered peaceful and have no imminent threat in Malaysia'. So he made himself a laughing stock around the world. He turned Malaysia down and the Malaysian authority have no other choices but to deport him back to Syria. And yes, he refused to be sent to Australia. He is lucky for doing it in Malaysia. If he commit such childish in my home country, Singapore authority wouldve sent him back in less than a week.
I worked as a contractor for a state department that dealt with issuing state drivers licenses and state IDs. There were a couple of that I met that were in a Catch-22 of not having the proper documents to prove they were who they said they were and since that could not get the proper documents to prove their identity because they had no ID. It made me think I should probably get my full name and date of birth tattooed...
The first few minutes I was immediately reminded of the Terminal. The stories were so similar. Then you mentioned that the movie was loosely based on this guys story. Well the experience. That's really interesting to know where the movie was inspired from. A really great movie that is. It's underatted .

I feel like at a certain point he just likes mooching off of the situation. That’s why he didn’t sign the papers to be allowed to stay in France, not because he didn’t want to be identified as Iranian.
He really was not mentally well by the end. He was conditioned to and felt safe in the airport. And after his book came out he had cash. Nobody accused him of mooching off the situation, they were concerned about him. He actually thought he was British (Scottish) at one point. This is currently happening to a man named "Hassan Al Kontar". Who is also living in a airport terminal in Malaysia due to the same issues faced as Sir Alfred.
he already been deported back to syria.
@@wakakabravo7998 Source? Last news I've read said, he was arrested. There is no social media presence since then.

Coincidence.
He really was not mentally well by the end. He was conditioned to and felt safe in the airport. And after his book came out he had cash.
