This was interesting! I never would have thought that Batman was inspired by two films, one of them from when films were still silent. The second adaptation looks the most obvious in terms of inspiration for Gotham City and the angles that are seen in future Batman films and animation adoptions like Batman: The Animated Series, which was one of the ways I was introduced to the franchise in my childhood.

Fascinating. If you have the time, would you please take a look at films, both live action and animated, from Russia during the Soviet days? Yes, say what you will about some of the qualities that you would later find out in the films you are about to see but what mattered the most in these films are the execution and how the writers, directors, editors, composers, animators, artists, illustrators, actors and many more of how they did with the materials they were given at the time. These were the finest and talented people in the country and I can easily say they were simply wonderful and excellent as the same people from the US and the UK combined. Also one more thing, I want you to see these films without the usage of subtitles. I want you to experience the Russian language by yourself. It may be a bit difficult for you but think of the language as a hint of English. Trust me, it will be worth it.

If I have the time I will check them out. Any suggestions? Honestly, the only Russian movies I've seen are "Battleship Potemkin" and the animated "Snow Queen" by Lev Atamanov in 1957.

How about 'tis one film called The Three Fat Men, based on the book of the same name, which is released in 1966 and the other film is The Kingdom of Crooked Mirrors which is released in 1963. Also based on the book of the same name.
