Barnes products are made by my parents ❤ thank you so very much for supporting them. They work very hard on their products and it is so wonderful to see their products used in such a nice tutorial. I am very proud of them ❤ thank you for showcasing their products!
This made my day
I think I saw the products at a train show but didn’t get any. will have to check them out.
i am not quite sure how you did the Ballast so well. can you come over for a couple days and show me ?
#igotlucky
That’s looking good! The added creek reminds me of Steve Brown: It’s my railroad; I’ll do what I want. Base it on reality enough to give the general vibe of the area you’re modeling and change whatever you want to make it look better or be more fun to run.
exactly
Very enjoyable video to watch and have a wonderful rest of your Wednesday.(Steve)
Thank you! You too!
Your welcome and thank you also.@@djstrains
Great vid. People can be very hesitant about scenery. Great to showcase how simple it can be. Back in the club's train show days, people would come up and ask, 'well what about........?' Our answer always was, "Your railroad, YOUR rules." Another A-1 chapter.
Well said!
That scene is looking fantastic. I just managed to glue some plastic dust to my fingers while assembling a building kit. Good times.
I just did basically the same making a pile of ties using super glue
Nice Video
Thanks
[thank, you for you're video]👍
Thanks for watching! Please check out the nearly 400 other videos on my channel
That’s right your layout, on mine I have an ore/ coal dock with barges on the Delaware river which is not even a navigable river. I love that road, nice job.
Very cool!
Never heard of Barnes, but I'm in the UK.
They are a small family business. Woodland scenics and scenic express and Noch may be in the UK.
hello dj & it's is randy and i like yours video is cool thanks dj friends randy and i am enjoy yours video is cool thanks friends randy
Are those foam leaves made from latex foam or polyurethane foam?
Stop flexxin so hard! Haha 😂 I dig it Deej. I dig it ☮️
your roads are too clean DJ! no over tarred cracking no potholes or the pathing of no patch spots from utility work no skid marks from a semi locking up no faded lines yet the road itself looks weathered! looks like i'm going to have hire on i've seen buzzards over the line and yard the past month and half you guys are bagging more this hunting season than i am!!
I’m making a oenndot scene for next video
@@djstrainsone thing i've noticed and turns me off with layouts is there's no life in them, you know all the cars look new/perfect you don;t have ones with a different color fender or a taped up window or in a yard up on blocks no overgrown yards with falling down out buildings/sheds or broke down fences no burnt buildings or vacant lots that people use as dump sites, on layouts with coal mines there's never a slag pile or mining junk around on the edge of the mine they're just a sterile view of the scene they just need some life in the scenes.
Maybe he is modeling roads in Portugal!
@@melkitsonDJ is around Pittsburg Pa!! he said it's a local scene!
Looks good
Great video and tutorial of your process of doing scenery projects! That mix of ballast, grass and flowers turned out great! And no apologies for the speech impediment lol. We've all been there at some point. My friend was over yesterday to start building my shelf layout tables. I finally decided on a U shaped design. It goes around 3 walls 8' by 2' wide. I'm doing a switching shelf layout. Thanks again DJ for sharing this live video with us along with your PRICELESS time and effort my friend! Cheers from Laurel, Delaware USA.
Btw, in my railroad room I'm creating I have a section of wall to put UA-camrs stickers on there. Would you be willing to donate one of yours to add to the collection?
I'm out of stickers, and merchandise all together. Thanks, my friend.
Thanks for the heads-up on Barnes Products. I'm not familiar with their offerings, but it looks great. And it's always nice to have a variety of choices to mix things up a bit from the same old look of every other layout using only Woodland Scenics & Scenic Express.
Nice video. I know it was not the objective but I love your road. It is one of the most realistic I have seen. I know an earlier cooment said that it is too nice. Maybe the roads in your country are more delapidated than in other parts of the world.

I love watching this scene unfold. I lived in Bloomfield/Lawrenceville when I was in grad school at Duquesne, so I am very familiar with this stretch of Pittsburgh. You do such a great job of capturing the "feel" of a place in your layout. Watching you work is a huge inspiration to me as I work through my first large layout. Thanks for taking the time and effort to share with us!
This made my day
Good work there D.J, root canal is no joke but your daughter is right you sound like sthid the sloth😁
Thanks for watching to the end. Lol
Great video and thanks for new source for scenery (for me at least)!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video
Thanks!
Where do you put your change in The Ridge wallet?
So they actually have a really cool part you can get. It fits in nicely and I think I had 5 quarters in mine when I knew I had to park at a meter.
@@djstrains excellent, thanks!
