there was an animated series on MTV back in the 90's called downtown. it just had this cool underground hip-hop, indie rock and goth type vibe to it. then again, it could've been the characters. i just loved that show

Kevin Rivera Camp Lazlo was one of those shows I hate with extreme prejudice. And then one magical day it came on tv and I was too lazy to change the channel because the remote control was not near me. I watched and laughed so hard. Loved ever since after. Similar experience with Teen Titans GO years later same situation.

Ghost Fox that was my favorite episode
Spetacular Spider-man. It was amazing, the characters, the fights and the villains were really cool. The art style was weird, but the animation was fluid. I can't belive that they have replaced it with Ultimate Spiderman

Ya, it's a shame that the show didn't get more traction and this is one time I don't think we can blame Cartoon Network as they promoted the heck out of it. So glad I have them all from Itunes though I'd much rather have a DVD release.

Des The Weekenders. Honestly I feel like a lot of people never even saw it because it was on Toon Disney. But it was actually really interesting and witty, by just taking every day scenarios of teen life.
Don't know if i'd say Static Shock is underrated, as anyone I ever talk to about that says they loved it and hope DC makes a film for it.

Raul Mejia Megas XLR should never have ended, man. Definitely worth an honorable mention, at least. Danny Phantom, I don't think was too underrated. It's still well-remembered, and I think (off the top of my head) it had a decent run.

"Mainstream success" seems to be the determining factor for this list. I don't think Rocko ever reached the same level as Rugrats or even Ren & Stimpy.
Fun fact: the People who worked on Rocko's Modern Life, most of them also worked on the first 3 Seasons on SpongeBob. The Creator of SpongeBob was working on Rocko's Modern Life as a Writter, then he took over the show during Season 3-4.

Space Ghost is one of the few shows that my entire family would agree to watch. Easily the best interview-format show of all time.

Every episode of The Real Ghostbusters cartoon is on Netflix :) When I found it, I hadn't seen it since it was on TV in 1990 and was fully expecting it to be nostalgic-fun but that it would fade after a few episodes and I'd tire of it. Except it was totally still great and was just as good as I remember enjoying it. Wound up binge watching episodes for like 3 hours.

The Boulder I agree with The Boulder. And, while not underrated, Avatar: TLA, best cartoon series ever.
Kevin Franzen korra is even better. season 1 rocks, 2 is meh but the payoff is huge since season 3 and 4 are eva levels of good.
Peter Parker I agree season two's story wasn't great, but the humor and animation was on point. Also Beast Wars should have totally been on this list.

They've been showing it lately around 2-4 a.m.m I don't know the exact time but I love that show.
lobelix11397 Thanks for reminding me that existed, I found it a tad disturbing when I watched it in middle school(The most notable scene I remember is when one of the rich girls became deformed and tried to jump off the bridge and kill herself. She lands in a pool of water an inch deep and the youngest oblong says, paraphrasing, "we've all tried that it doesn't work"). You brought back a lot of memories just now, I appreciate that. I forgot I started watching Futurama in 2nd grade as a 4th grader my dad sat down to watch an episode with me considering the questionable content for an elementary school student. I wasn't allowed to watch it anymore after that but I found family guy pretty soon thereafter. I didn't end up going back to the series until I was 17. I hope I never forget those years of watching Futurama every night on my box TV, it aired at 10pm I still remember. Sincerely, Thank you for bringing me back a decade.

Wasn't Gargoyles on their best shows of Disney list? Either way I liked Gargoyles and Space Ghost. Space Ghost I thought was underrated, but not Gargoyles I always thought that shows had a big fanbase. Code Lyoko yeah that was underrated. Every other show I either never liked or never seen/heard of.

In my opinion, "Baby Blues" is the most criminally-underrated cartoon in the history of western animation! Yes, it's unfaithful to the comic, but ignoring that, it is a nice, semi-mellow adult cartoon in its own right. Check it out, people! Please!

***** Honestly, I think it was more derivative of "The Simpsons" than "Family Guy". And at least one critic compared the teens on "Baby Blues" to those on "Dawson's Creek". But yes, it was a rather mellowed-out show compared to "Family Guy".
***** Yeah! That's why I think "Baby Blues" deserves more recognition for what it is as an adult cartoon on its own, rather than just what it does as an adaptation of a more-beloved comic strip.
