    You also have 40 lbs of seam sealer on that car, that can be tediously removed. When I built my 09 Drag Pak, that is how much I scraped out!

    • @Scavenger1320

      I thought about that along with all the sound deadener and digging out the foam, but I've stayed away from doing anything that I can't easily undo, at least for now. My car isn't a track only car and I like knowing that I can easily put everything back to exactly how it was stock whenever I want. And now that I've managed to break 10s with a stock 392 using nothing but weight reduction I don't feel the need as much anymore to dig out every ounce I can.

    Cool video. I'm hoping you can help me. I have a 2016 scat pack Challenger and want to mount a fire extinguisher on the Pass side of the console. Having no luck, I drilled 2 #40 holes for the bracket and I am just drilling into air. Is there any metal under the carpeting to catch the bracket mounting screws? I am about 4" down from where the plastic of the console meets the carpet...Thanks, Dave

    • @Scavenger1320
      @Scavenger1320  2 роки тому

      The transmission/driveshaft tunnel should be there similar to what you can see in my car. Not sure how thick the carpeting is in the Charger but there's definitely going to be metal under it. Just make sure not to drill into anything important. Depending on the spot you go through though the metal might not be very thick.

    Wondering if I can just cut along the center console instead of removing it, and just take out the seats on my Scat.

    • @Scavenger1320
      @Scavenger1320  Рік тому +1

      I don't see why you couldn't. Would definitely be easier, there's just no way to come back from cutting the carpet if being able to put it back 100% stock matters to you. Not sure how hard it would be to get a blade under the console to try and keep the cut hidden.

    So with having your passenger seat out and your Kirky seat in you have your lights on for airbags how are you turning them off?

    • @Scavenger1320
      @Scavenger1320  Рік тому

      There's a Demon owner that custom makes plugs to go in place of the seat plugs that mimics the seats being there and keeps the airbag system happy and enabled.

  • @dragpak8621

    Is there the ability to hold full throttle on the transbrake and limit the rpm like how a 2 step rpm limiter works

    • @Scavenger1320
      @Scavenger1320  Рік тому

      Nope, that's part of why hardly anyone uses it. You have to manually hold the rpm within a specific range and it makes the timing tougher. I think one of the times I messed up was because I stabbed the throttle a split second too soon compared to me releasing the transbrake, causing the rpms to go above that range and the car then de-activating the transbrake and going into limp mode while it reset.

    • @Scavenger1320
      @Scavenger1320  Рік тому

      Looks like you should be able to no problem. I just re-watched where I started pulling the carpets out and looks like the rear carpet tucks under the front portion. I probably could have pulled the fronts first too instead of the rear like I did.

    Are there any permanent codes due to disconnecting the drivers seat wiring harness?

    • @Scavenger1320
      @Scavenger1320  Рік тому

      Only permanent until you plug it back in or get custom dummy plugs. Basically, every time you start up your car, the SRS system runs a self check sort of "pinging" the components, making sure it's all working. With the seat unplugged, it thinks something is wrong, and you'll get the airbag light. But as soon as you start up after plugging it back in, the system will do its self check and see everything is good and the light will be gone. Or in my case I got custom dummy plugs that are wired to make the system think the seat is plugged in and working.

    This makes absolutely NO sense to me what so ever... Why this guy would want to TOTALLY DESTROY his $60,000 collector car to shave a few pounds which will not amount to much of a time difference in the quarter mile...

    • @Scavenger1320
      @Scavenger1320  3 місяці тому +1

      First, my car only cost $40K and a Challenger 1320 being a collector car is debatable. Second, not only is it not 'totally' destroyed, it's not destroyed at all whatsoever. At no point did I ever take a sawzall to it and start chopping things up. Every single thing I've removed can be put right back, easily. And if it were a collector car, since my interior is being stored inside my house, it'll have the nicest interior out there with no wear and tear, with the exception of those people that bought one and just stored their car away to never be driven.
      As for making a difference, well, I can let my record speak for itself. My car owns the record for the quickest 1/4 mile by anything out there powered by a stock 392 drivetrain that still has the original stock factory tune, and the only example of an untouched 392 powertrain to run a 10.9 second 1/4 mile. In a car that Dodge advertised to only run an 11.7 without any weight reduction. Oh, and all that with hardly spending any money since the majority of my weight reduction cost me zero and still maintaining my warranty. Meanwhile I have friends that have put thousands into their 392 car getting a cam and custom tune and all sorts of stuff and still couldn't keep up with me. And sure, 20 pounds from a carpet won't do that by itself, but when added up with all the other little things that everyone says "won't make a difference", well, I'd say my 10.9 second timeslips prove otherwise. And thanks for making this comment, I truly enjoy responding to these. I'm even going to give your comment a like lol
