Pink Floyd - Isn't this where we came in?

The ending of the last song on Pink Floyd's The Wall "Outside The Wall" and the beginning of it's first song "In The Flesh?" blend into each other and make this album a never ending loop.
The hidden message is "Isn't this where we came in?"

When I first listened to the album, I had it on loop. I didn't pay much attention to "-we came in?" at first but then "Outside the Wall" ended, looped back to the start of the album and completed the sentence. It's scared me straight, to say the least.

I think this album means something very special and very personal cos we all had once in our lives that sort of impression of being surrounded by a wall through the hard times of our lives !!!

True, I think Waters pulled off something amazing here... I don't know if he actually had the great levels of trauma which Pink does on the album (it's generally been accepted that, while this is a great album, Waters was kind of a drama queen about things, blowing them out of proportion) but as someone with extremely bad PTSD, which has been exacerbated throughout my life by continuing traumas, I can identify more than ever now in my forties, more even than I did as an 18 year old listening to this album day in, day out...
The idea that a wall might eventually be built, brick by brick, seemed just an analogy at the time, but I've found myself literally experiencing this without even relating it back to this album. One of PTSD's most insidious traits is it robs one of their ability to trust, and makes any severance or betrayal of trust when it is given far more traumatic, hampering further an already stunted ability to connect with the most precious people in our lives, including spouses, children, anyone.
The fact that Waters took something which is common to people going through life's hard times and illustrated it well enough to cause someone with heavily traumatic past to recognize it,without (possibly?) having lived through this himself, is pretty impressive.

DSOTM: "Everything under the sun is in tune... but the sun is eclipsed by the moon." All can be right with the universe, but you won't get to see it.
The Wall: "...we came in? ... Isn't this where..." You can tear down the wall of your trauma, but as soon as you do, you start building it right back up again.

If that's what you got out of it from the film, I can understand that from the visuals. However, if you listen to the lyrics you can get the clear meaning of this song. For me, it's really more about recognizing yourself as being no better or worse than anyone else and not judging yourself or others so harshly ever again, because you can now recognize them as being one with you; no better or worse in your humanity.

@@sethflix Not quite, this was meant to (rather disturbingly) allude to the fact that Pink is doomed to repeat his cycle with The Wall after 'escaping' it at the end of the album. He may be able to break it down and crawl out from the rubble, but The Wall is just a symptom of his mental health issues and the things compounding them, i.e; depression, isolation, drug abuse, partner abuse, celebrity, mounting narcissism, etc. As long as these problems go unaddressed, Pink will be doomed to continuously rebuild The Wall until it can no longer be torn down and the damage to his personality becomes irreparable.

Not really. It describes the mental state of pink and how even after destroying his wall of trauma and demons he will never be able to fully get over it and thus he rebuilds the wall.

I actually heard, once and only once, a radio station that played "Heartbreaker" by Led Zep, and didn't follow it with Livin' Lovin' Maid.
This was decades ago, with decades of my listening to these traditionally back to back songs. I am pretty sure someone got fired.
