  • Creating interesting blends and effects with Glass Powder using a blank silkscreen. I use these for creating the background for multi layer landscapes and want to share how easy it is to use! In this video I use Oceanside 96 powders but have the same results when I use Bullseye powders. This does not work for fine frit, only powder. Please use a fine particle dust mask or respirator when working with all glass powder!

Just watched this and loved it do you then put finished piece on a tack fuse or full fuse with a clear layer underneath?

Are you using transparent or opaque powder?

    • @susanhirschartglass

You can use either because the background is white. opaque may cover more where you overlap but it all works with this technique. You can buy a regular silkscreen at blicks or a silkscreen supply. 110 mesh is best for powder. I switched to stainless because the silk eventually gets small holes from the abrasion. Stainless is very challaging to stretch. Maybe I will get around to doing a video on the technique I figured out for it.

@@susanhirschartglass Thank you. I just love what you have been doing. I do not have a sandblaster but just love watching you make "waves" with the glass powder.
