This game looks soooooo FUCKING COOL! As a tattoo artist, I can not wait to talk one of my buddies into letting me tattoo anything from this game on their leg. The artstyle is unmatched!
Been keeping an eye on this one ever since the first showing of it and am signed up for the closed beta coming up here soon so hope i get to try it out. Loving the looks of it so far just torn on all the loot. Can be a positive but very easily can become a negative in my book. I loved both Nioh games but the loot in them just wore me out by the time i had beaten them as their was just way too much junk tier loot spammed at you constantly making for way too much time needing spent in menus going thru it and breaking it all down, etc.
In the latest years, all these soulslikes are just repeating the same formula with slight changes, aren't you people bored? Lords of the fallen, lies of P, stellar blade, this...this in particular looks like another dark souls with minor tweaks. And while I enjoy souls games, I think there is time for evolution, especially combat wise. I would love to see a game with a combat physics engine where the weight of the weapon really matters (both in damage and speed), where if you hit an enemy in the arm, he moves his weapon to the other arm, or maybe instead of dual wielding he switches to one hand, or drops his weapon and tries to fight bare handed or pulls out a knife. Where you see bits of his armor flying off when hitting him and him becoming WEAKER (but more dangerous, as a wounded animal) as the fight goes on and you keep doing damage (instead of becoming stronger, moving to a second phase). Where you can trip enemies, push them into environment stuff, push them off balance, and you lose balance when you miss a big swing with a big sword or hit a wall because your enemy dodged. I want to see dismemberment, I want to see parries and dodges more, not hitting an enemy 3485 times with a greatsword and just seeing a health bar decreasing without any consequence. When I do get a hit, I want it to have weight and consequences, just like in a real fight, I want to feel it's for life and death. I think we have the technology to make this happen, but instead we are just focusing on walking the same beaten path, because it's always easier and money flows. I will stop buying these games, we need to start asking for more.
Those sound like cool ideas honestly. It's what I'd like to see in these types of games too. I hate when a game boils down to just dodging and parrying. But I guess until more people start asking for more, we'll keep getting these Souls-like games with some small changes for each one. Seems like devs are scared of going further with the formula, though I honestly feel that it is moving in a more dynamic direction, just incredibly slowly.
This game looks VERY solid. Looking forward to it.

This is Berserk Nioh, the loot system the level up indicator the agility sytem the multiple level up stats
souls fans cannot resist the urge to use a greatsword any chance they get😭💔
