Wow. .1901 Barber Half. Nice Matron Head Large Cent! Cool token. Mass Copper..cool. Fantastic cuff button. Awesome Crotal Bell! You guys always find the Best
Thanks etrac, appreciate you watching and commenting. Sorry if I sounded disappointed in the Barber but since we were at a Colonial site, I was hoping for a Capped Bust or at least Seated.
me and my brother n laws found 7 mass 1812 artillery buttons jacket size... I wish one of us scored a cuff...even sold a few buttons on eBay for $300... you guys has a killer hunt .....i subbed !
Back in 1901, a guy was using dowsing rods to detect civil war artifacts; and dropped the half dollar... He got all the good stuff, rifles, pistols; and bayonets..
New intro.. Seems a lot of people have changed up there intro. But I am a big fan. You guys are part of the reason, I finally after 4 years went from my coinmaster gt to a Mxt All Pro..
Lol Shawn, my eye site is bad so when I am reading small print I always try pronouncing the words to myself before I really know what it says. Bad habit of mine
Stellar hunt Todd! You guys got some really killer finds. Still snowed in here with about 6' of the white stuff. Terrible! Keep posting those colonial finds....it's the only thing getting me through this winter!! Cheers Chris
Lol..I know Alan, but when my mind is set on Colonial Silver a Barber tends to disappoint me. Hope you can understand where I am coming from. Still a great save though
We ar lucky in the sense of where we live however, they don't just jump out the ground. We put a ton of research and time in to make our finds. Thanks for watching and I promise there will be more to see.
What state? I live in Maryland. Port Tobacco. I never see those old home foundations Gere. First silver I ever found was a 1545 1 real, holed. Killer. 70% readable
Brad Osbourne Thanks Brad. I could not possibly explain my methods as every coin is different and may require a different method. What works for me was all through trial and error and to go through all of that would require a book to be written. LOL sorry man but maybe I will write something about it one day as I am asked constantly about that subject
Awesome finds, love the videos. Do you have any knowledge of counterfeit coins? I recently found an 1822 pewter large cent at a colonial home site. Any info would be greatly appriciated.....Thanks Ben.
Hi Az Kidd, Dave and I have dug up a fair share of colonial counterfeits. Counterfeiting was running rampant in England between the time of Charles II and KGIII and thus Carried over here to the new colonies as It was big business. We also have dug some of the Pewter ones like yourself. It is sad that pewter and lead countefeits were most likely experimental pieces to test the dies as more and more counterfeiting were done with cast dies here.
thiltzy1 Thank you very much for that info, do they have any value at all other then a pretty neat find! Will be back in Rhode Island in September for several months of detecting...Take Care and thanks again....Ben.
Historical Vale AZ, everything I dig up has historical value, I don't dig for monetary value. I have never sold a single piece that I have dug. Monetary is only what someone is willing to pay for it.
