    Keep up the content. You have class but but you are fun too. I havent seen another trucking channel that has both of those things. This channel will be big in a few months.

      The older drivers who have had another career seem to be the most chill. They often have a paid mortgage, low debt, a substantial 401K and some of the humbling aspects of trucking can be perceived as more of an adventure. Office politics and all of those issues can remind of other human scenarios in trucking.
      Once in IT our team lost a critical server for almost 4 months and the team was supposed to code on paper. It was a Unix server and we only had Microsoft Windows laptops - so we pretended to work in the weekly Skype status meetings. Very stressful. This was with one of the largest banks in the U.S. That would be like a driver being required to make deliveries - on paper.

    KLLM does sound interesting to me. I drove for CR England some years ago, but I did let my cdl lapse after getting a little too comfortable where I'm at now. But I would love to get back into it again, and KLLM is on my short list of companies to look into. Thanks for making this video, keep up the good work and stay safe.

    the fact that they pay you when you are taking home time is really kewl 1st I have heard of a company doing that. taking your truck away from you for taking more them 7day of home time is rather bogus though. IMO great info and thank you. New driver here, how do they or do they take care of you on the road so you get sick and can't drive? I never hear anyone address this. thnx in advance

    • @stevesliff
      @stevesliff  15 днів тому

      Yes, the home time pay is a positive, the not 7 day not so positive. I really don't know about the sick issue, never had it come up. I am sure they would send someone to swap with you if you couldn't drive.

    Hi Steve, I live in the Pacific Northwest. ( 1 hour north of Seattle) Does KLLM have loads going to the Seattle area? Im thinking of choosing KLLM. I already have my CDL drove propane truck for 27 years, but I have been off the road the last 2 years. So looks like I would need to do a refresher course. I've never been over the road. So would be a new experience. Love your channel. Wish you all the best!!

      Hello. Thanks for stopping by and the great comments. We do go to Washington, but honestly that’s more of a recruiting question. Give them a call. Sounds like it would be a quick orientation and then on the road. Let us know what you find out.

    That home time sounds good....and the 100 dollars per day is great if it is correct.....!?!
    I'm at Crete now and I'm also on the dry van side. Crete tries to say that Crete is the best but idk if that is truth or just bs.
    I live in MA and also don't know if kllm is working the Lowell MA area.

      Thanks for stopping by. Yes, it’s $100 per day home. I am not sure on the hiring areas. You would have to contact KLLM for that, but I believe they do hire there for OTR. Keep us posted.

      Why do they need to pay a driver on his home time?He,s not being productive or working so why compensate the driver? I,m home every weekend and I don't get paid for that or any out of route Miles.

      @SENSEOFCOMMON. 5 місяців тому

      @@sodbuster518ablebeing that truckers spend more time on the road than at home. It’s the least a trucker deserves. Maybe you should look into a company like kllm that cares about your home time value. Just like Walmart pays their drivers to sleep.

    I’ve had 2 trucking jobs in my entire career and neither paid me for home time. Consider yourself lucky. We have vacation, BUT we have to wait until our anniversary hire date each year to even get that.

      Thank you for supporting and watching. It's for one year. Each week, a small amount is removed from the balance. If you leave before the year, they just want the remaining balance.

    How strict are they with the taking your truck after 7 days? I currently work for them and taking my first vacation. It’s going to be 9 days. I really like my truck and hopefully I don’t have to clean it out.

    How much driving is at night?

    • @timothykeith1367
      @timothykeith1367 9 місяців тому

      I don't yet have a CDL, but driving at night with reduced traffic appeals to me. You can at least see shadows from headlights of vehicles hidden from mirrors. KLLM is grocery so delivery at night is probably common.

    • @stevesliff
      @stevesliff  9 місяців тому

      It depends on your load, when it’s due timing. I prefer to drive at night or early morning hours before the sun is up when I can.

      What’s wrong with taking more than 7 days? I was just out for 2 months straight and have a vacation planned. That means im not a real driver?
