Maybe this could work if you use a bigger propane tank and have the machine set on a smart thermal plug so it can function on its own to maintain water temp.

I have the same leaking problem too, I think you need a water pump that’s has low volume per minute so it can match with the design of the heater.

The problem I find is it doesn’t have enough gallons per minute it shuts off.

i did this used my sump pump but water didn't make it thru instant heater so got my big water pump attached it with a pressure regulator still water didn't make it thru instant hot propane. Took off regulates and water finally made It thru but fire inside machine turns off after 15-25 minutes give or take so put on a timer to turn on off unit at 15-30 intervals. Still doesn't work well water makes it up to 98 degree I'll go check and its back down to 88 Sometimes works and i get to soak when i keep turning unit off and on alot. Hard to keep watching the dang thing since in one hour will get close then go way down since water moving without heat cools faster. Any ideas! Does yours turn off if moving hot water from tub with pump to unit and back out? Got a new pump that pump didn't pump water at all so just ordering new pump and also picked up another instant propane water heater maybe everything broken. Except my big pump but maybe its too big?

Hah! I was looking at this tank too! Glad Ive been going through your videos since its giving me validation haha. I wanted the Joocla one since it seems slick, but at 1.5 gpm id rather get the camplux that can shoot out 4.5. Then again.... I could get another just to recirciulate the heat and use it as well for camping. HMM.

so.... the second one out of the box was fine and does still work. I will say you get what you pay for, its cheap..... and has one safety feature it restarts every 20 mins. other than that...nope. I would not shower with this thing camping if that's that you mean...it will put out 165 degree water and dialing it in is not easy or consistent.. however if you need it for a hot tub it works gangbusters by putting out blazing water

@@betweenthesharksgarage Damn thats pretty nuts about the 20 min thing. Does it require you to manually start it again or does it just cool off and restarts? 165 shower would....not be good ahaha. I was just trying to get more use out of it than just a hot tub but eh, thats initialy why I was even looking at those products! And yeah, REAL CHEAP compared to real tankless water heaters! Thanks for the info, really appreciate it!

@@grahamulax To lower the outgoing water temperature, turn the incoming (cold) water volume up and lower the heat. The faster the water flows, the less time it has to heat up and the slower the flow, the more time it has to heat up. The other knob controls the amount of gas used to heat the water.
The 20 minute rule is a safety thing. I think that because the heat exchanger is so thin, a constant flame on it would eventually weaken it, causing it to fail. You can use a digital timer to control the water flow with either a solenoid valve or, if you're using a pump, by switching the pump off, alternating 19 minutes on and 5 minutes off. This method would be needed for use in the winter in the north to prevent the hot tub's circulating pump from freezing up.

I don’t really have a way to tell. Honestly I don’t use it that often. I think it would have made more sense to fix the heater and power it with electricity… if the cost was too much then I d get rid of it. Instead with intermittent use the chemistry is never right. So it takes too much work to “relax”. Seems like the way to go is have it work properly, always ready when you want to use it. Just check the chemicals every day or 2
