They will twist your words to suit their desire to charge you with a crime even if you are innocent. Not all cops are psychopaths, but many of them are.
We've all seen shows where they lied and arrested a person. Sometimes when they're calling in the details they fudge those, too, so they get permission to arrest when that wasn't even the truth.
The body camera being on means that they have a record of what is in your surroundings. And even if they only glanced across the room they can freeze frame it zoom in and find the ants on your cracker.

I work a third shift, so on my days off, I jog in my neighborhood at around midnight or so. A few days ago, I had cops come to my door and ask me why I was out jogging at 2am. They said it was uncommon and suspicious for someone to be jogging at such an odd time and that I kind of looked like a suspect that was breaking into cars. They asked me to come outside because they just wanted to talk to me. I told them to please leave and they kept on asking why I was refusing to cooperate with them and that I was acting guilty and like someone who was hiding something. They lied and said several people had identified me as the one breaking into cars and if I just came outside and talked to them, we could clear this up. I can only imagine what would have happened if I had gone outside and tried to plead my case right there on my porch.
Unfortunately all of us can imagine what would have happened if you had stepped outside. In that case, police are a threat to your livelihood and possibly a threat to your physical being.

A couple of years ago some guy lost control of his pickup truck and drove through my backyard, and into the river behind my house. Someone else (not me) called the cops. While they were milling around on my property, one of them demanded my ID and birth date. I refused, and told him I was on my own property, and that I didn't summon them in the first place. He got highly indignant, and said I HAD to give him my information. I told him to get off of my property, and went back inside my home. Whereupon he knocked on my door and demanded I come outside. I ignored him, and he eventually left. I'm sure that police department now has a nice little file on me.

Imho You can speak through your closed door and cover yourself for your civil litigation if you follow a strict protocol of words. Police usually will not answer that question as to if they have a warrant . They will try to begin talking to get you off of your subject and it seems that most humans completely fall for this ploy. People do not have to respond. At all. Keep your lips together. If they don't immediately answer yes or no, you can say, I'll take that as a no. Tell them to leave through your closed door and let them know you're recording and timing them. Glue your lips together.
Call the station instead. Say you suspect that the people at your door are not cops. Ask the station if they have a warrant. If not, tell them your next call is going to be your lawyer. That should get them to leave.
Always remember, if they had the legal right to arrest you, they won’t ask. If they don’t, they will try to talk you into an arrest. So if they want to talk, they are trying to trick you into being arrested. Never talk to cops - ever.
I think we just need the qualification for 'qualified immunity' to be more than showing up at work that day. Violations that cross certain lines should 100% be prosecuted as criminal acts and then a touch more. The police should understand those lines as part of their job, and if they step into criminal behavior are essentially 'not acting as police officers' in that time and not eligible for any immunity. They also should not be shielded from civil liability if they cross those lines. We shouldn't need a video like this at all. The fact that we do proves that the system has holes that are being abused.

Being a former police officer myself I agree. I have even taught my kids, look police are good and serve a purpose but they are not your friends. Even one night I was pulled over for rolling a stop sign. I cooperated and such and in the end I was on my way with a warning. I reiterated to my daughter that what I did is exactly what she should do if she gets pulled over, you stop, don't admit guilt, turn on your lights, roll down all your windows weather permitting and keep your hands visible and answer the basic questions and be polite but never volunteer anything. She said ok and asked why and I answered back with "because, you have the right to remain silent. ANYTHING you say can and WILL be used against you in a court of law....so shut the fuck up, you don't talk to the police unless you called them to begin with for an issue.

Called an ambulance once for my adult stepson ( epileptic/ autistic). When they showed up there was a cop following. I let the emt's in. When the cop tried to enter I stopped them. They protested. I said "excuse me ,we called for emt not a cop. I will allow emt into my house. Not someone i didn't call." They tried to talk their way in. I said " are you a medical professional? No. Kick rocks." They called their supervisor and cried about it. When he showed up, I trespassed them. Under no circumstances do you allow them in. They are always fishing.

I’m not a lawyer, but I’d expect that to be an example of exigent circumstances. He can enter due to the imminent danger of death, as demonstrated by the 911 call, requesting emergency medical services, for a potentially life-threatening condition. I’m a paramedic, and cops on scene can be extremely helpful. I can use them to ask pertinent questions from family members, to control hysterical family members, or to carry equipment back to the ambulance. Also, many police officers ARE trained emergency medical responders, EMTs, or paramedics.

Few months ago 3 cops showed up at my door. It was around 7:30PM so that was a bit weird. I opened the WINDOW. They seemed offended at the fact that I didn't want to open the door or step outside. They even told me if I didn't step out they'd get a warrant and drag me out. Didn't open the door, they left and never came back. I guess they got the idea that I wouldn't participate in their fishing expedition.
I would have called my lawyer and let them know of the pd's intimidating fishing schemes. If nothing happens it gets the lawyers a heads up on what's going on in the area also. 😊

As I understand it, Police are allowed to lie to the public, but not allowed to lie to attorneys, if true, all the more reason to demand an attorney before speaking to the police. If approached by police, calmly and clearly say: "I am invoking my right to remain silent and my right to an attorney. Please direct all communication through my legal counsel."
I had a cop trying to tell me they had footage of me commiting a crime. I was all " then why are we talking give me my bracelets" then they left and i never heard anything else about it.
I had the Sheriff’s office visit my rural home TWICE! Once at 5 pm and another time in the rain at midnight. They were at the WRONG address and I told them both times. The midnight time they wouldn’t leave as I talked through the storm door. And shut the main door. I asked my lawyer what would happen to them if they broke in the wrong house and he said NOTHING! So I had my lawyer write the Sheriff and County clerk of the court if they came again and entered the wrong house that would be negligence because they received a letter stating they had the wrong address TWICE.

My husband crashed his first ride on a motorized bar stool someone gave him. He fractured his skull, and we called the EMTS who r actually only a block from our farm. He was on our property and not on any public road…. EMTS showed up and within minutes two cos showed up….. the EMTs stood around my husband and told the cops this was not a criminal action, rather an accident and they needed to leave and let the medics take care of him. I was soooo grateful to those men…..❤️❤️❤️❤️

Where i live, about 2 years ago, this scene played itself out: Elderly couple had been shooting off some fire works after July 4th, just for the fun of it. Then they went inside and went to bed. Neighbors called cops, saying they had been shooting guns outside. Swat team, sheriffs deputies, all armed to the hilt, surround the home, big search lights, pound on the door, demand the couple come outside ... When the unarmed, elderly man tried to open the door with his hands up, they shot him. Thankfully he survived 2 bullet wounds i think it was. This case is still in court.

I mean what are you going to do, call the cops on the police so their buddies can show up and harass you? Always film the police. Ideally, if a LEO doesn't have a warrant or exigent circumstances, and refuses to leave your property after being told to, it should be treated as armed criminal trespass, which is a third-degree felony where I live. "Should" and "will" are two different things, though.

When i was about 15 I saw an entire battalion of state cops descend on my neighbors house around 9pm. Spotlights, dogs, yelling into a bullhorn, the whole 9 yards. They were even creeping through our backyards. Apparently they thought she was harboring a fugitive, but they did not have enough probable cause to get a judge to sign off on a warrant so they put all their eggs into intimidation. She stood them off ALLL night 😂, it was around 3am when they finally left, looking like the losing Superbowl team walking off the field. The guy they were looking for was never there, never even knew my neighbor. It was bad here-say info. She had 2 small children and a sweet old pitbull rescue dog, I dont blame her one bit. We've all heard about the tragedies that could potentially go down when you have a mass concentration of Little Man Syndrome in a small area
And the all night (actually only til 3AM?) terror fest for her 2 small children and rescue dog could've been avoided by just letting them go in to make sure the fugitive wasn't there. This sounds like a fantasy "what if" scenario, not something that actually happened (although I'm sure there are plenty of paranoid people with things to hide, including fugitives, who actually do make their children suffer through a standoff rather than letting law enforcement do their job). akron in the 90s, at the university of akron area..... cops would knock at 6am, claim a phone was off the hook, thus being the sign of a distressed(assaulted etc) person and had the duty to search. luckily, i was given heads up and thwarted it.

A few years ago a Pima County (Arizona) Sheriffs Deputy showed up on our front porch uninvited asking questions… I told him we’d not requested a visit and tried to close the door but he forced his way into our home threw me down on the floor his knee in the middle of my back threatening me with arrest… Tried to start a complaint case against PCSD but nothing came of it… This is one of the reasons we no longer live in Arizona, Pima County Sheriff’s Department bends the laws to suit their needs.

Cop knocks on my door and claims he has a warrant. I open the door and he barges in and grabs me and cuffs me. Then he goes over and yanks my wife's plant out of its pot on the front windowsill. No long story. It wasn't pot as the cop thought and he ended up fired. PS there never was a warrant!

The major beef I've always had with police dogs is you can't cross examine them in court. Dogs can be trained to make any type of movement - which can be initialed by a mere sound or word from an officer. I don't know why defense attorney's don't subpoena police dogs in court. If the judge does not allow it then demand any 'evidence' the dog obtained be thrown out.
As a general rule, the only time you should be talking to police is if you are in immediate danger or witness an emergency. If you don't need police to respond to a 911 call, there's no reason to say a word to them for any reason under any circumstance. Our legal system makes them a protected class with special rules that citizens don't share. It's a rigged game, the only wise move is not to play their game.

If you can train a dog to alert when they detect drugs, you can train a dog to alert on any other stimuli. A tug on a leash, a word or other sound, etc.
More I hear and see on media, the less reliable drug dogs are especially when someone's freedom is at stake. It's going to take a whole lot of cases that prove dogs make too many false positives to get evidence obtained by them to be permanently inadmissible, the way lie detectors are now.
I've trained my last two dogs to search and find. They respond to hand signals. I know all the tricks cops use to say a dog "alerts" on whatever the cop says the dog is trained to find. I haven't trusted cops since 1983.
Once the cops came to my place in the middle of the night. It terrified my son. I called 911 on them. I told dispatch that there is someone knocking in the door. I don't know who they are and I'd like police to come out and get them off my property

I knew they didn't so I went back upstairs to comfort my son. By that time he was drenched in sweat and shaking badly. I finally calmed him down and we went to sleep

@@tomcantrell5553 well, I would start by looking at the content. What’s it for? There are few IF ANY things that they could have probable cause for on me. The mere existence would be suspicious and bogus content would add to it. Next, they frequently screw up addresses and other details like names. The wrong address OR name invalidates it, e.g., they come to an apartment looking for a previous occupant or they got dyslexic with the house number or got the place, avenue, road, etc. part wrong. Time frame can matter too. Any of those reasons and you’re good telling them to fuck off and suing them into oblivion if they enter anyway. Ask an attorney for more.
I've seen a k9 cop tell his dog to sit and then told the guy that was the dog saying there were drugs in his car. No drugs were found and the cop got off the hook because there wasn't any evidence that he told the dog to sit. I told the judge I heard him say it and the cop said he didn't do that. The judge took the cops word for it even though I didn't even know anyone involved. Crazy.
If the dog is trained to detect substances why would I think it wouldn't obey commands to sit, speak,etc that could be interpreted as the signals for contraband detected? The dog just wants the treat and rewards. It doesn't know it's being manipulated to lie in order to ruin an innocent person's life. It doesn't even know it's lying. It just knows it was told to "sit".

My front porch is completely enclosed in heavy-duty wire fencing. A cop couldn't even get close to my front door. The last time a cop wanted to enter to "make sure everything is OK" following a bogus 911 call, I told him he was trespassing. He left. After having drunks pounding on my door in the middle of the night (the house is on a heavily traveled road) I enclosed the porch. Keeps drunks and cops out.

Several years ago, in California, I came home from a long day at the office. Within a minute of coming in the door, there was a phone call from our local police department, asking if this was (ME; homeowner). Yes, why are you calling. We received a 911 call, from across the country, identifying your address and the name of your son, indicating there was a threat of suicide. They wanted to perform a ‘welfare check’. As they were telling me this, two police SUVs rolled up in front of my house. I hung up the phone, went to my 19-year-old college student son’s bedroom door to check on him. All was fine; he was playing some computer game, and then I mentioned the suicide welfare check. He immediately said some online A-hole was trying to ‘SWAT’ our place. Well, this certainly wasn’t funny, and I was going to have to produce his ‘healthy body’ to prove all was okay. He wanted to let them in. NOPE!! I told him to immediately empty his pockets of EVERYTHING. No keys, no wallet, nothing was to be on his body or in his possession. I also dropped me purse, and only had my key chain. My hard was in the garage, with the door closed; however, our extra car (which he drove) was locked and parked curbside in front of our house. I had told the dispatcher we would meet with the officers out front, by the street side. House door was locked behind us. They police were quite shocked that I met them by the street side, next to my son. They could see he was NOT in an altered state, no anxiety, and pretty ticked off over the incident. One of the officers actually took him about 40 feet away, held his hands behind his back, and did a ‘pat-down’, searching his pockets. My son was a bit rattled, and then understood why I told him to leave everything inside our LOCKED house and away from the LOCKED car. A ‘supervisor’ showed up, and when he saw the one officer ‘frisking’ my son, he immediately pulled the plug on the situation. I’ve always suspected they were looking for ‘something’ else, but I took this opportunity to teach my son how to be compliant, while also exercising one’s rights, to prevent an escalation by planted probable cause in their minds. I made sure we were not being detained, and gave them a lecture on how important it was to flesh out any potential suicide report more thoroughly. After all, they’d waited around the corner for me to arrive home from work, when they’d received the call THREE hours before contacting me!! While we watched the police depart, waving at them, I was seething at my son for getting involved with these online gamers ‘swatting’ each other. I explained how, if any of his friends had left anything questionable in his room, or in our car, so much trouble would be heaped upon him in a heartbeat. He was ordered to meticulously clean through his room, then pull the car into the garage that night and do the same thing. ANYTHING questionable was to be placed in a bag INSIDE the house and it would be burned in the fireplace that night. There would be NOT one more instance of this sh!t going down on our property. Teens and twenty-somethings don’t realize how quickly they can be tricked into giving away their rights.
"Got a warrant? No? Then get off my property." I have nothing to say to you, ever. There's no such thing as voluntary contact. I don't care what you feel, think, or want. Write me a ticket, arrest me, or leave me the fuck alone. The only thing I want from the cops is their absence.

I was home alone with my child who was a baby at the time and out of nowhere someone just randomly started banging on my front door. I was extremely scared and looked in the peep hole only to see it was a cop. I didn’t answer the door. The way he was aggressively knocking I thought he was going to break it down. I talked to my neighbor about it and turns out he had the wrong house…😕 scared the crap out of me.
I just saw today a Illinois case where the lady called police for a person prowling. She opens the door and they came in and cop tell her about the stove been on. She walks to the kitchen grab the water to dispose in the sinks and..... Cop killed her with a shot to the head. Reason: he though she was going to throw the hot water on him. Same guy got fired from 5 different departments since 2020.
Under the "Trespass Act" in Ontario, you can notify (written or verbal) anyone or any organisation that they are prohibited from entering your property, BEFORE they ever even have a chance to enter. If they disregard that "prior notice", you yourself can arrest them or call police. Giving prior notice removes any "Implied" licence to enter and they are criminally trespassing as soon as their foot crosses the line, even if you are not there to tell them to leave. This law applies to anyone including police. My local (Peterborough OPP) police service have targeted, harassed, assaulted (Illegal arrests) and used the "Implied" licence to enter my family's properties many times years ago to carry on with this conduct. I served them "Prior Notice" under the "Trespass to Property Act" and now they are prohibited from entering and I made it clear I will arrest them. Their harassment ended and the false charges have also.
You are fortunate in that situation, but frankly, I don’t think Canada should ever be held out as a “bastion” of personal, constitutionally protected freedoms😂
Living at the backside of a high school and living on a corner, the curb outside was red. Every day parents would park along the curb with their car running, filling my house with exhaust. I finally began calling the cops, explaining the situation, that I have asthma, and they were actually illegally parked there, sometimes for 45 min. On one day, the officer was especially rude knocking and knocking. When that didn’t work he went into my shrubbery and continued to knock on my front window. When I finally pulled the curtain back because our 3 dogs were now super stressed, he repeatedly told me to come out and talk about it. I told him to leave over and over and just wanted him to tell people not to park in a red zone and fill my house with exhaust. He continued harassing me to come out and talk about it, treating me like I was a 6 year old. I think I ended up pulling my curtain closed and tried calming my dogs. I’m all for supporting officers, but there’s some asses out there.
Keep your screen doors closed and locked. Then if you open the front door noone can put a foot in the doorway to block it open. Politely say, leave my property I have nothing to say to you. Close the door. It's also an additional lay of security against criminals as well. As a general practice shred all paper then place in your compost bins. That way you create a layer of security against all probing eyes. Establishing a secure curtilage also makes it easier to go after criminals entering onto your property.
Should not even open your door, as they will put their foot between the door, & refuses to remove it. Speak to them thru a close door, or just don't answer at all.

A friend wanted to put up a 8ft wall in front of his house some year ago, the city originally denied the permit on the ground that the police wouldn’t be able to see the front door.
Where I live, you can't have a privacy fence past the front of your house on the grounds that impedes the neighbor's view down the street. But I think an 8 ft chain-link fence is allowed. Personally, I see privacy fences as convenient concealment for anyone wanting to break into your house.
Why aren’t cops being punished for forcing their way into your home without a warrant when you open the door and cops put a foot in your door? Are cops counting this as a consensual entry?
Holding cops accountable usually requires extra deep pockets and years of patience working thru the court system. That's if your case is allowed to proceed forward and doesn't get tossed.

Oh my gosh, I’m so glad that my friend didn’t open her door when the police came to her home at 4:30am a few weeks ago! It was terrifying. They banged on her front door, banged on her bedroom windows (she lives on a ground floor flat) then they went around the back and banged on her patio door, tried the door handles, then they traced their flashlights along the side of her curtains. She didn’t know it was the cops because they didn’t identify themselves and was reaching for her phone on the bedside table to call 999 (we’re in the UK) when she heard the distinctive sound of their radios. Ironically it was her freezing up in fear that saved her. She just stayed in bed, completely silent. They’d just startled her out of a deep sleep so she wasn’t thinking clearly. Fortunately they went away.
Prior to my moving into my house, the owner had flipped the house and made it look great before I bought it. However, his previous tenant had conducted nefarious activities for which several times SWAT teams had been dispatched and legally searched the premises and affected arrests. Now there I am-elderly and greyhaired. I had a knock and talk attempt. They claimed they had an alarm warning and were checking if my system had sent an alarm signal. Well I was sure it was turned off. But they did see my ADT sign so maybe that was their premise. A total of six cops looking at me. I told them that I knew of two other houses in the street with ADT and one guy took long trips. I didn’t think much of this after they left. But after seeing this video I am no longer so sure.
This sort of information involving a citizen's legal rights should be taught in every school in the nation, and I'm not just talking about classes on government or history that teach about the constitution and the Declaration of Independence and so forth. What is needed is real, practical information and education on exactly the sort of things you're presenting in your videos. You're providing a valuable service; thank you sir, and well done!
The Constitution should be taught but with 'Case Studies' that show how the Constitution is implemented for various reasons, particularly reasons that are beneficial to citizens. Currently when the Constitution it taught it's just a read thru of all of the statutes, rules, amendments and so on. Case Studies will help we the people.
If you don't teach legal rights, Government can do whatever they want because people don't know better. It's in their best interests to keep the people ignorant.

I wish I would have known this when the cops went into my yard and peaked in the window. Then they proceeded to knock on my front door and gave me the same form of harassment you talked about. They told me that if I didn’t let them in, they would come back with a warrant to search my home. I was afraid that they would come back and tear my house apart so I let them in. They searched and found a tiny amount of pot at the end of a roach clip. 😂I still had to go to court and pay a substantial amount for possession of drug paraphernalia! One time cops came looking for this same son. We were renting an apt from my parents. Cops knocked on the door asked if my boy lived there. My dad said "No" and slammed the door in their faces. My son didn't live in my dad's part of the house, so he really wasn't lying.
1 thing you forgot to mention, and I proved this in court in Brunswick GA. A mailbox has just as much privacy as your home. A cop can not look through ANY recently or previously delivered mail in your mailbox, without a warrant. In my case, a neighbor stole mail from my mailbox, I was pressing charges, the magistrate was not even aware of mailbox privacy. I demonstrated that nothing can be placed in your mailbox without a postage stamp, I also demonstrated laws on privacy at your mailbox, and, that police need a warrant to search your mailbox. The magistrate actually looked through her book in front of the court, and found I was right.
I had one walk into my house, I was half undressed, but no body cams here… I wish I would have filed a complaint, but where is that going to go? Doors stay locked at all times now.
@@rickt10 the fix for that is a security chain. Put that on before opening the door and it'll only open a couple of inches. If the cop sticks his foot in the door, it won't open further, and the only way to open it far enough for you to walk outide is for the cop to let you close the door. At which point you lock it and walk away.
If you lie , all your testimony is considered suspect from then on. If a cop lies... his testimony is taken as gold. Something is really wrong with our system.
@ 16 yr old, in Mich I learned to Deny police access to Search my Dad’s car, when I got pulled over. I told them they’d have to arrest me First and Tow his car, before they can search it. It worked 2 times Everyday.
I woke up one day to 6 deputies banging on my door. When I opened the door, and with 4 of the deputies with their guns out, they asked if I was Steve (my then neighbor's name). I said I was not. Then they proceeded to ask questions about drugs in my home, claiming they had received an "anonymous tip" about drug activity there. I said I knew nothing about any drugs and told them to leave my property. As I was closing the door, the one apparently in charge said if I closed the door they would be back with a search warrant for my home. I then asked him if he was prepared to lie on the affidavit in support of the warrant. They all got puzzled looks on their faces. He asked what I meant by that. I replied, "You showed up at my door asking for someone who has never lived here and coincidentally is currently under indictment for molesting my daughter. He was arrested by your agency. In order for you to get a warrant, you will absolutely have to misrepresent facts to obtain it." Then I again told them to leave my property and I closed the door. The matter never came up again. The former neighbor eventually took a plea deal.

We've all seen shows where they lied and arrested a person. Sometimes when they're calling in the details they fudge those, too, so they get permission to arrest when that wasn't even the truth.
The body camera being on means that they have a record of what is in your surroundings. And even if they only glanced across the room they can freeze frame it zoom in and find the ants on your cracker.

I work a third shift, so on my days off, I jog in my neighborhood at around midnight or so. A few days ago, I had cops come to my door and ask me why I was out jogging at 2am. They said it was uncommon and suspicious for someone to be jogging at such an odd time and that I kind of looked like a suspect that was breaking into cars. They asked me to come outside because they just wanted to talk to me. I told them to please leave and they kept on asking why I was refusing to cooperate with them and that I was acting guilty and like someone who was hiding something. They lied and said several people had identified me as the one breaking into cars and if I just came outside and talked to them, we could clear this up. I can only imagine what would have happened if I had gone outside and tried to plead my case right there on my porch.
Unfortunately all of us can imagine what would have happened if you had stepped outside.
In that case, police are a threat to your livelihood and possibly a threat to your physical being.

You would have ended up in cuffs.

A couple of years ago some guy lost control of his pickup truck and drove through my backyard, and into the river behind my house. Someone else (not me) called the cops. While they were milling around on my property, one of them demanded my ID and birth date. I refused, and told him I was on my own property, and that I didn't summon them in the first place. He got highly indignant, and said I HAD to give him my information. I told him to get off of my property, and went back inside my home. Whereupon he knocked on my door and demanded I come outside. I ignored him, and he eventually left. I'm sure that police department now has a nice little file on me.

Here is something that this lawyer should also let us know about warrants. If the cops come to your door and say that they have a warrant, and you open the door, but if you ask to see it, but the cops don`t have it in their hands, and still demand that you comply . Do you have to ? Do the cops need that warrant in their hands and signed by a judge ? My answer to this is , YES.

Call the station instead. Say you suspect that the people at your door are not cops. Ask the station if they have a warrant. If not, tell them your next call is going to be your lawyer. That should get them to leave.

I think we just need the qualification for 'qualified immunity' to be more than showing up at work that day. Violations that cross certain lines should 100% be prosecuted as criminal acts and then a touch more. The police should understand those lines as part of their job, and if they step into criminal behavior are essentially 'not acting as police officers' in that time and not eligible for any immunity. They also should not be shielded from civil liability if they cross those lines.
We shouldn't need a video like this at all. The fact that we do proves that the system has holes that are being abused.

Being a former police officer myself I agree. I have even taught my kids, look police are good and serve a purpose but they are not your friends. Even one night I was pulled over for rolling a stop sign. I cooperated and such and in the end I was on my way with a warning. I reiterated to my daughter that what I did is exactly what she should do if she gets pulled over, you stop, don't admit guilt, turn on your lights, roll down all your windows weather permitting and keep your hands visible and answer the basic questions and be polite but never volunteer anything. She said ok and asked why and I answered back with "because, you have the right to remain silent. ANYTHING you say can and WILL be used against you in a court of law....so shut the fuck up, you don't talk to the police unless you called them to begin with for an issue.

I'm still traumatized by two different police encounters two years ago, I ended up owning them in both incidents for abuse of power - in fact the second incident I prayed to Jesus and Holy Spirit jammed their field computer and field fingerprint component so I was released. I now call cops *Criminal Police Officers * and Judges are lowlifes who tolerate police lying - unbelievable - I used to bless and pray when they pass me - not anymore. Called an ambulance once for my adult stepson ( epileptic/ autistic). When they showed up there was a cop following.
I let the emt's in. When the cop tried to enter I stopped them. They protested. I said "excuse me ,we called for emt not a cop. I will allow emt into my house. Not someone i didn't call."
They tried to talk their way in. I said " are you a medical professional? No. Kick rocks." They called their supervisor and cried about it. When he showed up, I trespassed them. Under no circumstances do you allow them in. They are always fishing.

I’m not a lawyer, but I’d expect that to be an example of exigent circumstances. He can enter due to the imminent danger of death, as demonstrated by the 911 call, requesting emergency medical services, for a potentially life-threatening condition.
I’m a paramedic, and cops on scene can be extremely helpful. I can use them to ask pertinent questions from family members, to control hysterical family members, or to carry equipment back to the ambulance. Also, many police officers ARE trained emergency medical responders, EMTs, or paramedics.

Few months ago 3 cops showed up at my door. It was around 7:30PM so that was a bit weird. I opened the WINDOW. They seemed offended at the fact that I didn't want to open the door or step outside. They even told me if I didn't step out they'd get a warrant and drag me out. Didn't open the door, they left and never came back. I guess they got the idea that I wouldn't participate in their fishing expedition.
I've done that before. I got looked at like I had 6 heads as I said what's up😁🫡

I would have called my lawyer and let them know of the pd's intimidating fishing schemes. If nothing happens it gets the lawyers a heads up on what's going on in the area also. 😊

As I understand it, Police are allowed to lie to the public, but not allowed to lie to attorneys, if true, all the more reason to demand an attorney before speaking to the police. If approached by police, calmly and clearly say:
"I am invoking my right to remain silent and my right to an attorney. Please direct all communication through my legal counsel."
I had a cop trying to tell me they had footage of me commiting a crime. I was all " then why are we talking give me my bracelets" then they left and i never heard anything else about it.
I had the Sheriff’s office visit my rural home TWICE! Once at 5 pm and another time in the rain at midnight. They were at the WRONG address and I told them both times. The midnight time they wouldn’t leave as I talked through the storm door. And shut the main door. I asked my lawyer what would happen to them if they broke in the wrong house and he said NOTHING! So I had my lawyer write the Sheriff and County clerk of the court if they came again and entered the wrong house that would be negligence because they received a letter stating they had the wrong address TWICE.
I'd get a better lawyer if I were you. ;-)

My husband crashed his first ride on a motorized bar stool someone gave him. He fractured his skull, and we called the EMTS who r actually only a block from our farm. He was on our property and not on any public road…. EMTS showed up and within minutes two cos showed up….. the EMTs stood around my husband and told the cops this was not a criminal action, rather an accident and they needed to leave and let the medics take care of him. I was soooo grateful to those men…..❤️❤️❤️❤️

Where i live, about 2 years ago, this scene played itself out: Elderly couple had been shooting off some fire works after July 4th, just for the fun of it. Then they went inside and went to bed. Neighbors called cops, saying they had been shooting guns outside. Swat team, sheriffs deputies, all armed to the hilt, surround the home, big search lights, pound on the door, demand the couple come outside ... When the unarmed, elderly man tried to open the door with his hands up, they shot him. Thankfully he survived 2 bullet wounds i think it was. This case is still in court.
So, moral is, don't call the cops about nonsense. You might get your neighbor shot.

When i was about 15 I saw an entire battalion of state cops descend on my neighbors house around 9pm. Spotlights, dogs, yelling into a bullhorn, the whole 9 yards. They were even creeping through our backyards. Apparently they thought she was harboring a fugitive, but they did not have enough probable cause to get a judge to sign off on a warrant so they put all their eggs into intimidation.
She stood them off ALLL night 😂, it was around 3am when they finally left, looking like the losing Superbowl team walking off the field. The guy they were looking for was never there, never even knew my neighbor. It was bad here-say info.
She had 2 small children and a sweet old pitbull rescue dog, I dont blame her one bit. We've all heard about the tragedies that could potentially go down when you have a mass concentration of Little Man Syndrome in a small area

If there's a reasonable belief that a fugitive is hiding in someone's home, pretending that homeowner is a hero by not giving in to the 'battalion of state cops' who want to find him is a bit naive.

akron in the 90s, at the university of akron area..... cops would knock at 6am, claim a phone was off the hook, thus being the sign of a distressed(assaulted etc) person and had the duty to search. luckily, i was given heads up and thwarted it.

Cop knocks on my door and claims he has a warrant. I open the door and he barges in and grabs me and cuffs me. Then he goes over and yanks my wife's plant out of its pot on the front windowsill. No long story. It wasn't pot as the cop thought and he ended up fired. PS there never was a warrant!

The major beef I've always had with police dogs is you can't cross examine them in court. Dogs can be trained to make any type of movement - which can be initialed by a mere sound or word from an officer. I don't know why defense attorney's don't subpoena police dogs in court. If the judge does not allow it then demand any 'evidence' the dog obtained be thrown out.

As a general rule, the only time you should be talking to police is if you are in immediate danger or witness an emergency. If you don't need police to respond to a 911 call, there's no reason to say a word to them for any reason under any circumstance. Our legal system makes them a protected class with special rules that citizens don't share. It's a rigged game, the only wise move is not to play their game.

If you can train a dog to alert when they detect drugs, you can train a dog to alert on any other stimuli. A tug on a leash, a word or other sound, etc.
More I hear and see on media, the less reliable drug dogs are especially when someone's freedom is at stake. It's going to take a whole lot of cases that prove dogs make too many false positives to get evidence obtained by them to be permanently inadmissible, the way lie detectors are now.
I've trained my last two dogs to search and find.
They respond to hand signals.
I know all the tricks cops use to say a dog "alerts" on whatever the cop says the dog is trained to find.
I haven't trusted cops since 1983.
Once the cops came to my place in the middle of the night. It terrified my son. I called 911 on them. I told dispatch that there is someone knocking in the door. I don't know who they are and I'd like police to come out and get them off my property

@@tomcantrell5553 well, I would start by looking at the content. What’s it for? There are few IF ANY things that they could have probable cause for on me. The mere existence would be suspicious and bogus content would add to it. Next, they frequently screw up addresses and other details like names. The wrong address OR name invalidates it, e.g., they come to an apartment looking for a previous occupant or they got dyslexic with the house number or got the place, avenue, road, etc. part wrong. Time frame can matter too. Any of those reasons and you’re good telling them to fuck off and suing them into oblivion if they enter anyway. Ask an attorney for more.
I've seen a k9 cop tell his dog to sit and then told the guy that was the dog saying there were drugs in his car. No drugs were found and the cop got off the hook because there wasn't any evidence that he told the dog to sit. I told the judge I heard him say it and the cop said he didn't do that. The judge took the cops word for it even though I didn't even know anyone involved. Crazy.
If the dog is trained to detect substances why would I think it wouldn't obey commands to sit, speak,etc that could be interpreted as the signals for contraband detected? The dog just wants the treat and rewards. It doesn't know it's being manipulated to lie in order to ruin an innocent person's life. It doesn't even know it's lying. It just knows it was told to "sit".

My front porch is completely enclosed in heavy-duty wire fencing. A cop couldn't even get close to my front door. The last time a cop wanted to enter to "make sure everything is OK" following a bogus 911 call, I told him he was trespassing. He left. After having drunks pounding on my door in the middle of the night (the house is on a heavily traveled road) I enclosed the porch. Keeps drunks and cops out.
No one should not have to go through so many steps just to deal with all of that avoidable nonsense. You pay your taxes for the police to keep unwelcomed "guests" OFF of your property. Including themselves. We all do.

Several years ago, in California, I came home from a long day at the office. Within a minute of coming in the door, there was a phone call from our local police department, asking if this was (ME; homeowner). Yes, why are you calling. We received a 911 call, from across the country, identifying your address and the name of your son, indicating there was a threat of suicide. They wanted to perform a ‘welfare check’. As they were telling me this, two police SUVs rolled up in front of my house. I hung up the phone, went to my 19-year-old college student son’s bedroom door to check on him. All was fine; he was playing some computer game, and then I mentioned the suicide welfare check. He immediately said some online A-hole was trying to ‘SWAT’ our place. Well, this certainly wasn’t funny, and I was going to have to produce his ‘healthy body’ to prove all was okay. He wanted to let them in. NOPE!!
I told him to immediately empty his pockets of EVERYTHING. No keys, no wallet, nothing was to be on his body or in his possession. I also dropped me purse, and only had my key chain. My hard was in the garage, with the door closed; however, our extra car (which he drove) was locked and parked curbside in front of our house. I had told the dispatcher we would meet with the officers out front, by the street side. House door was locked behind us. They police were quite shocked that I met them by the street side, next to my son. They could see he was NOT in an altered state, no anxiety, and pretty ticked off over the incident. One of the officers actually took him about 40 feet away, held his hands behind his back, and did a ‘pat-down’, searching his pockets. My son was a bit rattled, and then understood why I told him to leave everything inside our LOCKED house and away from the LOCKED car. A ‘supervisor’ showed up, and when he saw the one officer ‘frisking’ my son, he immediately pulled the plug on the situation. I’ve always suspected they were looking for ‘something’ else, but I took this opportunity to teach my son how to be compliant, while also exercising one’s rights, to prevent an escalation by planted probable cause in their minds. I made sure we were not being detained, and gave them a lecture on how important it was to flesh out any potential suicide report more thoroughly. After all, they’d waited around the corner for me to arrive home from work, when they’d received the call THREE hours before contacting me!!
While we watched the police depart, waving at them, I was seething at my son for getting involved with these online gamers ‘swatting’ each other. I explained how, if any of his friends had left anything questionable in his room, or in our car, so much trouble would be heaped upon him in a heartbeat. He was ordered to meticulously clean through his room, then pull the car into the garage that night and do the same thing. ANYTHING questionable was to be placed in a bag INSIDE the house and it would be burned in the fireplace that night. There would be NOT one more instance of this sh!t going down on our property. Teens and twenty-somethings don’t realize how quickly they can be tricked into giving away their rights.
"Got a warrant? No? Then get off my property." I have nothing to say to you, ever. There's no such thing as voluntary contact. I don't care what you feel, think, or want. Write me a ticket, arrest me, or leave me the fuck alone. The only thing I want from the cops is their absence.

The laws they abuse and tricks they use, makes it hard for citizens to trust them. And its sad that most joined the force with good intensions and end up following a code that partially dimishes those intensions.

I was home alone with my child who was a baby at the time and out of nowhere someone just randomly started banging on my front door. I was extremely scared and looked in the peep hole only to see it was a cop. I didn’t answer the door. The way he was aggressively knocking I thought he was going to break it down. I talked to my neighbor about it and turns out he had the wrong house…😕 scared the crap out of me.
I just saw today a Illinois case where the lady called police for a person prowling.
She opens the door and they came in and cop tell her about the stove been on. She walks to the kitchen grab the water to dispose in the sinks and.....
Cop killed her with a shot to the head.
Reason: he though she was going to throw the hot water on him.
Same guy got fired from 5 different departments since 2020.
And walked free all five times.

Under the "Trespass Act" in Ontario, you can notify (written or verbal) anyone or any organisation that they are prohibited from entering your property, BEFORE they ever even have a chance to enter. If they disregard that "prior notice", you yourself can arrest them or call police.
Giving prior notice removes any "Implied" licence to enter and they are criminally trespassing as soon as their foot crosses the line, even if you are not there to tell them to leave. This law applies to anyone including police.
My local (Peterborough OPP) police service have targeted, harassed, assaulted (Illegal arrests) and used the "Implied" licence to enter my family's properties many times years ago to carry on with this conduct. I served them "Prior Notice" under the "Trespass to Property Act" and now they are prohibited from entering and I made it clear I will arrest them.
Their harassment ended and the false charges have also.

Living at the backside of a high school and living on a corner, the curb outside was red. Every day parents would park along the curb with their car running, filling my house with exhaust. I finally began calling the cops, explaining the situation, that I have asthma, and they were actually illegally parked there, sometimes for 45 min. On one day, the officer was especially rude knocking and knocking. When that didn’t work he went into my shrubbery and continued to knock on my front window. When I finally pulled the curtain back because our 3 dogs were now super stressed, he repeatedly told me to come out and talk about it. I told him to leave over and over and just wanted him to tell people not to park in a red zone and fill my house with exhaust. He continued harassing me to come out and talk about it, treating me like I was a 6 year old. I think I ended up pulling my curtain closed and tried calming my dogs. I’m all for supporting officers, but there’s some asses out there.
Keep your screen doors closed and locked. Then if you open the front door noone can put a foot in the doorway to block it open. Politely say, leave my property I have nothing to say to you. Close the door.
It's also an additional lay of security against criminals as well.
As a general practice shred all paper then place in your compost bins. That way you create a layer of security against all probing eyes.
Establishing a secure curtilage also makes it easier to go after criminals entering onto your property.
Should not even open your door, as they will put their foot between the door, & refuses to remove it. Speak to them thru a close door, or just don't answer at all.

A friend wanted to put up a 8ft wall in front of his house some year ago, the city originally denied the permit on the ground that the police wouldn’t be able to see the front door.
Where I live, you can't have a privacy fence past the front of your house on the grounds that impedes the neighbor's view down the street. But I think an 8 ft chain-link fence is allowed. Personally, I see privacy fences as convenient concealment for anyone wanting to break into your house.
Why aren’t cops being punished for forcing their way into your home without a warrant when you open the door and cops put a foot in your door? Are cops counting this as a consensual entry?

Holding cops accountable usually requires extra deep pockets and years of patience working thru the court system. That's if your case is allowed to proceed forward and doesn't get tossed.

It seems a shame that we must guard our homes from not only criminals, but also the police. It doesn't seem that long ago this kind of thing would have been met with disbelief. On the other hand, it has never been Mayberry.

Oh my gosh, I’m so glad that my friend didn’t open her door when the police came to her home at 4:30am a few weeks ago! It was terrifying.
They banged on her front door, banged on her bedroom windows (she lives on a ground floor flat) then they went around the back and banged on her patio door, tried the door handles, then they traced their flashlights along the side of her curtains.
She didn’t know it was the cops because they didn’t identify themselves and was reaching for her phone on the bedside table to call 999 (we’re in the UK) when she heard the distinctive sound of their radios.
Ironically it was her freezing up in fear that saved her. She just stayed in bed, completely silent. They’d just startled her out of a deep sleep so she wasn’t thinking clearly. Fortunately they went away.
The copps know when femmes are alone. Lots of grapists in uniform and no accountability.

Prior to my moving into my house, the owner had flipped the house and made it look great before I bought it. However, his previous tenant had conducted nefarious activities for which several times SWAT teams had been dispatched and legally searched the premises and affected arrests. Now there I am-elderly and greyhaired. I had a knock and talk attempt. They claimed they had an alarm warning and were checking if my system had sent an alarm signal. Well I was sure it was turned off. But they did see my ADT sign so maybe that was their premise. A total of six cops looking at me. I told them that I knew of two other houses in the street with ADT and one guy took long trips. I didn’t think much of this after they left. But after seeing this video I am no longer so sure.
Six cops for an ADT alarm is not good. Usually a phone call can take care of that. They were definitely fishing and trying to violate you.
This sort of information involving a citizen's legal rights should be taught in every school in the nation, and I'm not just talking about classes on government or history that teach about the constitution and the Declaration of Independence and so forth. What is needed is real, practical information and education on exactly the sort of things you're presenting in your videos. You're providing a valuable service; thank you sir, and well done!
The Constitution should be taught but with 'Case Studies' that show how the Constitution is implemented for various reasons, particularly reasons that are beneficial to citizens. Currently when the Constitution it taught it's just a read thru of all of the statutes, rules, amendments and so on. Case Studies will help we the people.
If you don't teach legal rights, Government can do whatever they want because people don't know better. It's in their best interests to keep the people ignorant.

I only have 1. Never talk to the cops. At all. Ever.
I wish I would have known this when the cops went into my yard and peaked in the window. Then they proceeded to knock on my front door and gave me the same form of harassment you talked about. They told me that if I didn’t let them in, they would come back with a warrant to search my home. I was afraid that they would come back and tear my house apart so I let them in. They searched and found a tiny amount of pot at the end of a roach clip. 😂I still had to go to court and pay a substantial amount for possession of drug paraphernalia! I don’t feel like I really live in the home of the free when something like this happens. Teaching our rights as citizens should be taught in every school in the country!😮

One time cops came looking for this same son. We were renting an apt from my parents. Cops knocked on the door asked if my boy lived there. My dad said "No" and slammed the door in their faces.
My son didn't live in my dad's part of the house, so he really wasn't lying.

1 thing you forgot to mention, and I proved this in court in Brunswick GA. A mailbox has just as much privacy as your home. A cop can not look through ANY recently or previously delivered mail in your mailbox, without a warrant.
In my case, a neighbor stole mail from my mailbox, I was pressing charges, the magistrate was not even aware of mailbox privacy. I demonstrated that nothing can be placed in your mailbox without a postage stamp, I also demonstrated laws on privacy at your mailbox, and, that police need a warrant to search your mailbox. The magistrate actually looked through her book in front of the court, and found I was right.
It's a well known evaluation that police mentality is no different than the criminals who they are trying to catch. 😮

I had one walk into my house, I was half undressed, but no body cams here… I wish I would have filed a complaint, but where is that going to go? Doors stay locked at all times now.
Yep, they will stick a foot in the door. If you try to close it, they can charge you with assult.
@@rickt10 the fix for that is a security chain. Put that on before opening the door and it'll only open a couple of inches. If the cop sticks his foot in the door, it won't open further, and the only way to open it far enough for you to walk outide is for the cop to let you close the door. At which point you lock it and walk away.

@ 16 yr old, in Mich I learned to Deny police access to Search my Dad’s car, when I got pulled over. I told them they’d have to arrest me First and Tow his car, before they can search it. It worked 2 times Everyday.
I woke up one day to 6 deputies banging on my door. When I opened the door, and with 4 of the deputies with their guns out, they asked if I was Steve (my then neighbor's name). I said I was not. Then they proceeded to ask questions about drugs in my home, claiming they had received an "anonymous tip" about drug activity there. I said I knew nothing about any drugs and told them to leave my property. As I was closing the door, the one apparently in charge said if I closed the door they would be back with a search warrant for my home.
I then asked him if he was prepared to lie on the affidavit in support of the warrant. They all got puzzled looks on their faces. He asked what I meant by that. I replied, "You showed up at my door asking for someone who has never lived here and coincidentally is currently under indictment for molesting my daughter. He was arrested by your agency. In order for you to get a warrant, you will absolutely have to misrepresent facts to obtain it." Then I again told them to leave my property and I closed the door.
The matter never came up again. The former neighbor eventually took a plea deal.
Never talk to the police. That is what your lawyer is for.
