Rumour was that one tower was never wired up for demolition that day in honour of a man who died when he fell from a tower. Sad to see them fall really, I used to ride on the footplate of a steam engine there with a pal of my dad.

I was around 5 years old when my dad took me to watch it. And my grandad used to work there too. It's very vivid in my memory.
