  • You know what happens when a sitcom does a clip show?
On today's episode of Acoustic Tuesday, we're going down memory lane. This particular memory lane is six years long, with endless bits of wisdom sprinkled all along the way. There truly is no shortage of things to learn from the Acoustic Tuesday catalog.
So, what's up with all the nostalgia?
There are some changes coming to the Acoustic Tuesday show. But before you go through a period of change, it's nice to take stock of where you've been and where you are right now.
Reflection is a practice in gratitude. It grounds you. It makes you remember why you do things in the first place.
And when it comes to your guitar journey, reflection is most likely one of the best things you can do on a big-picture level. Because if you don't stop to smell the roses every once in a while, what are you gardening for?
Think of this 6-year clip show as a reminder to reflect on your guitar journey. I've focused so much of my guitar journey on helping others achieve fun, focus, and progress in their playing. I'm not stopping any time soon. Things just might look different moving forward.
Hey, who said change is bad?

I've been playing guitar for 41 years now.
I have played on BIG stages, church stages and every other type of stage in-between. Now, only my wife, dogs, horses and grandkids get to hear me play.
There are so many valleys, peaks and plateaus along the way.
But no matter what...KEEP PLAYING. It all comes together to form the masterpiece that is your guitar journey.
    😊😊😊

I needed a moment of guitar therapy, 8 bar style, and I have to say "thanks for everything! " Go stretch your comfort zone and expand your boundaries. Make us proud to say "I knew him when..."

I remember when my dad stopped coming to the dinner table and giving us life lessons and wisdom. I’ve been with TAC for 2 years and have seen several roll backs already. With my schedule, this is the only guitar podcast I’ve watched consistently. Hopefully my melancholy will be assuaged.

Tony, you have been a huge inspiration to me. I had just retired and needed something to do, but I was struggling with learning to play on my Dad's old guitar. Somehow, I found you early videos and I have watched every episode since #1. Thanks for being my guitar friend and teacher.

So nice to see Denny featured, again. I know him from TAC and have spoken with him a few times at various virtual open mics; he's such a warm, encouraging and generous man.

One Acoustic Tuesday show sticks out in my mind, although I don't actually recall what the guitar-related topics were that episode! It was from 5 or so years ago and revolved around Tony and Noah retelling the story of a race they had participated in, a 10k or half-marathon I think. The episode must have been an hour long and it was just a great example of two good friends telling stories and thoroughly enjoying the process and each other's company.

I’ve been watching the Acoustic Tuesday show for a long time and, for that matter, watching you even longer when you were at Music Villa. Though I’m disappointed to see this show end, I’m just as excited to see what you are planning next!

Tony, you have been a big inspiration to me and between all my years of watching you on Music Villa and then TATS, and as a TAC lifetime member, I am speechless, sad, but excited for what’s to come. I watched this video last night in a plane ride home from a well-deserved vacation and told my wife. She asked me what I was going to do on Tuesdays. I answered, well for THIS Tuesday I clearly need to put on my much faded guitarsenal shirt and finally submit my guitarsenal. Next Tuesday, I’ll play guitar like it’s any other day, but will toast my bourbon to you. Good luck on the things that come!

Tony, I have watched every episode of Acoustic Tuesday, and to pick one would be like selecting your favorite kid, LOL. Initially, I would sit with my lunch at work, watch you, Levi, and Noah, and laugh at the sense of humor displayed. Those first 100 were my favorite (the 100th episode would be my pick) for the personalities, and the next 209 for the excellent content and analysis. Thank you for all you are and have done for me as a guitar player.

Thanks for the inspiration tony. Your show and 10 minute philosophy helped me commit to a lifelong desire to play the guitar about 3 or so years ago after always thinking I didn’t have the time to give to do it well enough… well now there’s little time for much else as I haven’t put my guitar down since and am progressing every day. Thank you and good luck

I've only had the privilege of being a TAC member for 1.5 years and I have never played so consistently and shown so much improvement. Tony, I have you to thank. While I'm sad that my weekly habit of watching Acoustic Tuesday is coming to an end, I totally understand. I also look forward to what comes next for you because I think you are an amazing person. Thank you for everything...and I hope that TAC does not end any time soon.

Thanks for the look back Tony. I’m pretty new to Acoustic Tuesday: my twin brother and I met you at the 2022 Fretboard Summit and it was great to see you and many “repeaters” at the 2023 Summit. I just wanted to say “thanks” for your passion, but also thanks for the shout out to Dan Fogelberg! Home Free was one of the best first albums ever! Thanks for the heads up on your transition to a new reality. Sorry you’ll be ending the show, but I have many episodes to catch up on! All the best!

There is soo much goodness packed into every episode, I continually find myself going back to.
I liked when Tony would highlight gear. It seemed like every time I was wondering about somethin he would cover it. thinking bout effects, covered it..thinkin bout thumbpicks, covered it..wondering if im correctly caring for my guitar, covered it and every time learned something new. The value within this show is immeasurable. I'm soo sad to see it end, but im positive ill be revisiting episodes continually LOL!
Thanks Tony for all the time, effort, love & care you put in these past 6 years.
God bless you & your fam.

Started playing on another kids 12 string. I could tell you all kinds of great people I've met and played with.

While there's no doubt some sadness here for all involved, I am already excited about what's next for all of us. I've learned so many lessons here for both my guitar journey and my life. I have personally been pondering some changes that I really feel it's time to make that involve me stopping some activities (NOT GUITAR OR MUSIC!!!) in my life that have been near and dear to me for many years and have enabled me to spend time with friends as well as make new friends, but it's also time for a new chapter for me. Just listening to you talk in this episode has already helped me realize that it's time for me to move on in some ways as well. I happen to be a person that likes change, but it's never easy. We always need a nudge here or there. Anyway, thank you so much Tony for your inspiration in music and life. I can't wait for the next chapter of the journey!

I've been experiencing reverse culture after living in China for 12 years and though I'm only doing twenty minutes or so of guitar playing and TAC lessons, I cannot stress how they have been keeping me sane.
I've specifically found leaving my young students behind (aged from 4-10) extremely difficult. I know it's dumb but knowing I'll maybe never see some of them again makes me feel like I've let them down.
I know it's not true and I am getting better but man, when I pick up my guitar for my TAC lesson, I feel the world become a little less cloudy.
TAC has helped me with more than just getting better at guitar. I now use the same format of 10-20 minutes learning snippets to study Spanish (I plan to move to Sevilla), reading and meditating.
It's also helped me accept my failures are vital to progress.
Finally the community here at TAC have made me feel that we're all connected, despite being spread around multiple countries.
I genuinely hope I meet you guys some day.
Oh, Ton, DAMN YOU FOR BRINGING MY ENJOYMENT FOR GUITAR PLAYING BACK: NOW I NEED MORE GUITARS.
    YOU BASTARD! 😂

A little disappointing to see the Acoustic Tuesday show coming to an end. I started watching it shortly after I got back in to playing guitar in August of last year after I discovered it on UA-cam. I've been a regular viewer since and went back and have seen many of the previous episodes that caught my interest as well. It's also what led me to adding TAC to my daily guitar routine as well. However, I'm also looking forward to hearing what else you're planning for the future as well.

There is still one thing you need to do before leaving your fans and that is buy a kick butt 12-string and keep it.
