I honestly think his beautiful home should become a museum, like they have done for Elvis and I believe Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, but either way the house/mansion of Walt Disney is beautiful.

Walt Disney was an extraordinarily gifted artist and a wonderful human being. America was truly blessed to have such a great artist, story teller and lover of children. He is a national and international icon.
Disney brought holsum entertainment for years! Simpler times for families. My mom would pop popcorn and the family shared 2 bottles of pop for 4 of us....we thought it was great evening!
It should be listed on the historical registry and become a museum. Problem is the renovations but they could brought back to Walt Disney days. It is beautiful with its understated elegance and whimsy. And, I agree that Walt Disney would be appalled at what has blown out of proportion with his business. Rest in Peace Mr. Disney and thank you for many many memories.
I love that the house is not over done. The rooms are charming and some place very livable today. The kitchen is very modern looking. I’m sad that my kids can’t afford to take their children to the Disney parks, too expensive now.
We went on a bus tour of stars homes years ago. When we came to Walt Disney’s home, the surrounding wrought iron fence had little mouse ears on the top of each post
I grew up with Walt Disney and the original Mouseketeers. We would always watch the Mickey Mouse Club when we got home from school. His home is like himself- whimsical, simple yet elegant.❤
JUst glad that the people who've owned it since he pasted have understood the history of the place and cared for it as such. Some where near there was Roy's house. Wonder if it still stands as well. If I remember, the original land had about 3 acres and half was sold off to build another neighboring house. Occasionally the current owners give tours of the place or at least used to.
I disagree. I recently watched the new lights, music and fireworks show in EPCOT. I was very inspired by the spiritual message of uniting the harmony of a Humanity. Walt would be very proud of this message.
I knew a retired guy who edited the early films at Disney. This was 35 years ago. He worked side by side with Walt. He said that Walt know how much the movie would cost to make and how many people would come to see the movie before they even started.

I was in that house in the 1980's when Richard owned it. Very cool house, so many elements of Disneyland were in the architecture throughout the house.

What a beautiful home. I hope whoever owns it will respect the history behind this wonderful man who brought so much joy into the lives of many children and families. It really should be a heritage sight or a museum. Thank you for the post. :o)
I also think his wonderful home should become a museum. It's beautiful inside and out. I think it was a cool idea to have the hidden Mickey's and other Disney references.

It's more homey than I thought it would be. Even though it's fancy you can see it's lived in.

I never realised that Disney had built such a beautiful mansion. Brilliant video.
Gorgeous home! It is just what I would expect that Walt Disney would have built.

This is exactly what you would hope Walt would build. Can’t see him living in ultra modern style
The home is very beautiful, and it was a lovely home. I have black-and-white pictures of the home when they owned it.

This Mansion was built in 1932... for $50,000 ... $50,000 in 1932 is equivalent in purchasing power to about $1,119,510.95 today,
Which is absolutely nothing in that housing market. It’s the price of a starter home
