    This man has inspired me in a way I can’t write down. The love, passion and dedication he has put on his films is remarkable. The romanticism on them. The struggle, illusion and pursuit of dreams, the beautiful music by hurwitz, and themes of constant dedication, such as an artist, a young in love, or an astronaut, have touched me deeply. I normally don’t leave the psychological thriller genre, and this man is the exception. Im actually gonna work in order to sabe some bucks and have a chance to travel to LA. Really. Pure inspiration.

    I think Damien Chazelle has really found his voice with his latest First Man (what an Oscar snub) in the sense that it fully embodies all the major themes of his three previous films and takes it to the next level. I can see him tackling great stories of other historical figures in a similar manner, and I hope he won't restrict himself to just Jazz. What do you guys think?

    I still definitely need to see First Man, Whiplash and La La Land are some of my favorite films from recent years and I have no doubts that First Man can stand tall among them. I'm really excited to see what he does next, such an exciting filmmaker that has already demonstrated a lot of range, and I think we can expect great things from him. Excellent video, excellent series, maybe next up you could do Lynch?

    Jordan Peele and Damien Chazelle imo are two of the best modern film makers of all time. They just came out of the gate swinging and although First Man didn't make that much money it still was a master class in story telling and film making. I'm so excited to see Us this week and for Chazelle's next movie!

    ... and at only at 34. It's great to see a director wholeheartedly devoted to his niche in cinema. You can tell Chazelle had a lot of fun with the sound design in First Man (mixing animal and nature sounds into the score). Here's to more from a talented and young director.
    Another great video!

    What a masterpiece of a video. I am an aspiring director and I am currently shooting a music video. I have watched all of Damien's works bar First Man, and the way you explained his views and how his characters went on a journey was insightful and inspiring. Thank you for such a great video and I look forward to the next one.

      @genericusername2 5 років тому

      Why was it boycotted?

    • @NickDiasOuttaMyLeague
      @NickDiasOuttaMyLeague 5 років тому +4

      @@genericusername2 Because it didn't show the American Flag being planted on the moon. It only briefly showed Neil and Buzz digging the hole for the flag and showed the flag in two quick shots from far away. Also Ryan Gosling said something to the effect: "I'm a Canadian, so I don't think that it was just an American accomplishment,. I think it was an accomplishment for humanity." The conservative media went crazy with that, as you can imagine.
      Also the Liberals boycotted it because the title was called "First Man" and it was released during the Brett Kavanaugh hearings (that was an actual review on Rotten Tomatoes. NOT JOKING). They didn't feel it was appropriate to tell the story a straight white men doing something good in history......what a world we live in, huh?
