You can set active track to frame the subject off centre - select the active track subject as usual, then reframe using the joystick. Active track then keeps that offset. 9:23
I have done quite a bit of research on travel videos and noticed that they get many views. The quality of some of the videos is just about OK. Nobody seems to use a gimbal as you get a up and down sensation. I want to learn quickly and to do the same only better. I am so pleased I found your channel.
Excellent video. Subscribed. I had the original osmo mobile but had't used it in several years. Pulled it out of the box and the battery was kaput and it no longer synced with the DJI Mimo. Just got the Osmo Mobile 6 today. Opening the box as we "speak".

I have this gimbal and use it with my Samsung Galaxy S24Ultra. When I use active track, in initially centers the item, but I can use the joystick to move it into a new position and it stays there. Better composition. I do this often with hyperlapse.
Limited tilt: my Insta360 Flow also has very limited tilt axis. My work around is to hold it out sideways. That way the Rotation handles the changes instead of the tilt.
The phone clamp blocks access to buttons on many phones that are located in the middle of the sides. An X-Pattern clamp with 4 adjustable legs would avoid this problem.
Hi Steve I bought a cheap Gimbal recently after following your videos an Aocchuan XE although I wish I'd bought the pro version as it has a couple more modes, however it has tracking modes hyperlapse timelapse & a ton of other features which work on Android phones, as I know these usually work better with iPhones. While not perfect its helped steady up my footage quite a bit now as before it were pretty awful. The DJI looks a neat bit of kit but I'd have to research how well it works with Android devices as I know some will only have very basic features only. Great video as always

The active track really work well when hyper lapsing also, you can say set it to track a part of a building then as you move closer it tilts up or also you to move around the building whilst tracking it!
DJI should bring option to lens switching in next update. When you are using the zoom rocker to transform wide shot to tight shot, it is using digital zoom from the same lens.
Can you use active track with apps like the BlackMagic Camera App or Moment App or do we have to use the DJI app? That's a huge downside if you can't use pro level apps like the Blackmagic, etc. Seems like it still isn't on par with the 360 Flow Pro.
Hey @utah62 If I’m honest, if you’re shooting with ProRes and using an external SSD, this probably isn’t the best gimbal for you. I’d recommend looking at something a bit bigger and more professional. This gimbal is great for everyday users who want to capture shots quickly and easily, but for your setup, a larger, bulkier gimbal would be a better fit.
Hey Michal! A couple of recommendations for you would be the DJI RS 3 Mini and the Zhiyun Weebill 3. I’ve used both, and they work great for handling both phones and mirrorless full-frame cameras. They’re lightweight and versatile, making it easy to switch between setups. You’ll definitely be happy with either choice! 😊
I had the same problem with the two buttons being pressed with the insta360 flow. I solved it by using a cheap phone case and I cut out the buttons on the case. The case then holds the clamp off the buttons.

@markshirley01 you can still use the native camera and it works well, but if you want to use tracking etc you need to use the app which then limits manual camera control. Shame.
I’m also android user, and I don’t know if it’s just with my phone or the others have this issue as well, but my phone camera films with way higher resolution, than the dji mimo app allows 😢😢😢
I've had a Insta360 Flow for about a year and loved it. But in the last month it's causing my iPhone 12pm to overheat and stop after a couple of minutes. It doesn't happen when not using the Flow. I assume it's an IOS update fault but it's still there after iOS18.
I use a gimbal and My videos are shaky when I hold it a lot of the time. It's kind of embarrassing. Any help on how to make it less shaky when on the move? (Samsung Galaxy a14)

Rich Larsen at the IRC USA Tire Moto UA-cam channel does his instructional videos using the Osmo. It's incredible how the Osmo tracks him as he rides his motorcycle while instructing as if he had a very expensive film crew with him.

Don't buy it for Android Smartphone. No App in the playstore for reasons! If you use it as a download there occure bad issues. To use the App, you have to be online with exaxt GPS ... the whole time. Made a video on this.
DO NOT bring something up close to the camera for a closeup if your camera cannot focus fast enough! It looks God damned awful. Take a close up in B-roll.

I clicked on the link expecting the gimbal to cost an arm and a leg but £109 seems reasonable for such a comprehensive piece of kit.

The DJI Osmo 6 is an excellent Gimbal. Very complex, I've had mine for just over 1 year and still have not fully mastered it.

You should be able to reframe the subject during active tracking with the joystick…
One Con not mentioned is if you're an Android phone user (like me) you can't adjust frame rate in DJI app.

What is the difference between DJI Osmo Mobile 6 and DJI Osmo SE?

Just tried my Flow again and it did not overheat after 15 minutes of filming. Perhaps firmware updates & ios18.0.1 have helped?

I don't think so, but the new Insta360 Flow Pro gimbal will track with any camera app, including streaming apps.
