- I hope you are enjoying following two middle aged women travelling with their old vans across Spain. This week on our winter adventure we find a park up with some nice posh motorhomes on the outskirts of Alicante so think we are safe there as very different to all the remote park ups we have been on previously. However we are woken up very early in the morning by the Police who ask us all to move on. We spend most of the week searching for water points to fill up the vans as our hosepipes won't connect to the taps. Thankfully with help from new friends we solve all our future water problems.

Winters in the UK can be miserable especially when living on a boat and with all the canal lock closures for maintenance, I began to feel a little trapped. So for the next 2 months I decided to join up with another fellow solo female traveller and set off across Europe in our two very old camper vans in search of sunshine and to experience Van life at it's best.
I hope you enjoy something a little different as I swap boat life for van life.

Arid regions don’t put threaded taps because water thieves will bring a tanker and fill it for ‘free’ at public expense and sell it or use it for irrigation. Sad but true…love your adventures and Sandra is the perfect traveling companion!!!

Really enjoying all your videos, had an idea for the water tap problem, if you have a funnel, take the fittings off the end of hose pipe and insert he funnel.nozzle into the hose and hold under the tap, hope it works😊 take care and best wishes

Hey Heidi, great vid as usual. The little orange you bit into ( naughty Sandra 🤭 ) is probably a Calamondin. They are mainly grown as ornamentals because they are exceedingly tart but they do make excellent marmalade. The other one is a kumquat, specifically a Nagami Kumquat. You can tell by the oblong shape. They are also used for marmalade and candied peel. The ones that are usually eaten skin and all are rounder ones called Meiwas. The rest of the citrus looked wonderful. 🍊🍋. Safe travels you two. 🧡🤗🧡

It's amazing. You kept your cool despite the Police interferance. Scary as the laws in each country are all different. I noticed I was number 999 comment. Police not required thank you. Pirates and Guardian Angels must be looking after you. You got away! Where I live I used to work at a gas station & grocery store. Next door was a Biker Bar. I served Hells Angels and tattooed Pirates along with Bull Riding Rodeo Cowboys. All were and still are Guardian Angels now invisible but still active. It makes for interesting energies. For those awkward taps to fill with water put a funnel in the opening of your container. enjoy your adventure

Great video again, as for the water all that is needed is a bucket and a bilge/stirrup pump connected to your hosepipe. Here's to having a cold Jamaican rum and coke with a sea view.😊

Hello Heidi, Sandra, Bonnie and Sandra's two fur kids ... thank you to Vincent and Kathleen for being a host to you. That was wonderful and I know you guys had a wonderful time visiting. I love the drone video portions and it is so nice to see sun and beautiful ocean scenery. Thank you for letting me ride along each week. Winter here in California (USA) has been dark and gloomy and riding along has made it so much more enjoyable. Please save me a seat for next week and give all the fur kids a scratch behind the ears. Maybe try a funnel with your hose on those taps? It may not be the best solution but I'd give it a try myself. Love your videos thanks for doing them.

Hi there. We are motorhomers who live in the province of Cadiz. Obviously you are not aware that you cannot wild camp anywhere in Spain or Portugal now, only stay on authorised sites. You may find some local councils that have their own aires but wild camping in the country is a no, no. A lot of motorhomers have been fined and if you do not move when asked the Guardia Civil will confiscate your vehicle. Paul. Hope you continue to enjoy our lovely country.😁
Tip for you heidi..
Remember when you used to have a rubber hose shower for the bath taps? They make perfect multi-fit connection for wierd shaped taps. Had one in my van for 25 years!

I really enjoyed your trip down the Eastern side of Spain.
The Spanish police are quite proactive and unless you can speak Spanish it can be quite alarming being held by the fuzz. 😂

If you get a funnel, or cut off the top of a bottle, you could stick the thin part in your hose, and hold it up to the public taps with the wide funnelly part.
That would save splashing yourself too much..

A decent funnel that fitted into your hose would help at the non hose connection taps.
on ya girls , dont worry about the milage on the van , as long as you do the servicing , oil , filters etc 70,000 is nothing , my transits have over 200,000 miles on them .

Heidi maybe look for a water container couple or 3 gallons or so. With a spigot tap then no matter where you are you can fill the container and the use a hose from the spigot on the can to top off your tanks bloody long winded way of doing it but maybe would work at a push

I thought you would have informed us that you talked to other RVers, and they told you what kind of connecting hose you needed for your water problem. Glad you're having a great time.
Watering cans was the answer which we got but unfortunately couldn’t pour straight in as the handle was in the way but luckily we have Vincent’s floppy hose now

Neighbourhood Watch is starting again in our area in Tasmania. Bill and I were in it for 20 years before we retired. It is a pity we need it, but if it gives some peace of mind, that's a good thing. More cameras also. Hope you are both recovering. ❤🇦🇺

You need a "Male thread" attachment so you can screw your attachment to your connection so you can screw your hose to the inside of the tap. I lived for 14 years in Spain, I can read, write, and speak Spanish I was also a Town councilor in my local town hall (Ayuntamiento). If you had gone inland from Alicante on the AP31 towards Madrid and stopped at Sax 03630 about 60 klms that is where I lived, I have so many friends in that area, I could have helped you, and any problems you could have phoned me, and I could have helped you out, Novelda is a wonderful place to visit as there is a Gouda inspired church on a hill.

Please don't waste water at the water points. We are in desperate times in the South East of Spain, due to lack of rain for over a year. Huge bottles of water are very cheap in Aldi, Lidl or supermarkets. (Less than a euro for 5 litres). With a funnel you can just pour them directly into your water tank. Please check all the comments on Park for Night. There are very few legitimate places to camp near the Mediterrranean. If you go inland you can find many more wild camping spots, as long as you stay out of the National Parks. You will get the knock if you stop in any of those.
