    Just wanted to say Thanks for your information on the Russell Day Long seat, received my seat back 2 weeks ago. So comfortable, just awesome. 😀 Also any info on resetting the service light on my 2016 R1200RT would be appreciated. Thanks Gary

      Thanks, Gary. I use the GS-911 to reset the service light (and other things).

      Gary, I’ve got the best seat ever - it’s a Russell Day Long seat. Check them out at day-long.com. Thanks for the feedback.

    Great educational videos to help save money. Thank you first of all sir. I just bought a 2015 rt1200 police edition. Never owned a BMW before. So regarding the value clearance. So if valves were tight on the lowest point does that mean I have to change the shim if that valve is tight on the higher end. I’m trying to understand the math. just trying to figure out at which point of that measurement should I change. Sorry for going on and on but I’m just trying to understand it numbers wise. Thank you again.

      Thanks for the feedback. If the gauge is tight but still slips in that is okay as long as it is within the acceptable range. I found a shim calculator on advrider that you can use:

    Can you recommend a list of tools you use for all the maintenance? I rather invest in $300 to $500 dollars in tools to do my own maintenance than pay thousands of dollars on maintenance costs.

    • @PacMoto
      @PacMoto  Рік тому

      Thank you for the great idea. Yes, I will make a video of the tools needed for maintaining your R1200LC and R1250.

    Very interesting video. So what do you do when the valve clearances are not within spec?

    • @PacMoto
      @PacMoto  Рік тому +1

      I guess I’ll have to figure that out when I need an adjustment. Multiple bikes. Tons of miles, and always in spec.

    Curious about your torque wrench (what brand / model / ⅜”)? I bought a craftsman brand a few years ago that didn’t work at all. Also, how often are the valve clearances actually out of spec? Are they hard to adjust if they are out?

    • @PacMoto
      @PacMoto  4 місяці тому

      The torque wrench is a Craftsmen, which is no longer sold. You need one that goes from about 8Nm to 60Nm. That covers most of the servicing torques. Harbor Freight has one to consider.

  • @mikecowle3373
    @mikecowle3373 Рік тому

    Should probably show how to change the clearance. This video implies they will not need an adjustment.

    • @PacMoto
      @PacMoto  Рік тому

      Yes, I’ll do that as soon as an adjustment is needed! Thanks for the feedback.

    I can't find the spark plug socket puller from underneath the seat of my 2015 bmw r1200rt. Is it available somewhere else besides the BMW dealer?

    • @PacMoto

      @@PacMoto I own a 2015 BMW R1200 RT LC. I am disappointed with BMW for basically supplying no tools with the bike. I owned a 1996 BMW K 1100LT and BMW supplied a complete tool roll with all of the tools needed. Also, the body panels are very flimsy on the R. Just seems to be an all round cheapened product. Wish I had my K back.
