Just what i was looking for!!! i couldn't find an video hwo to wrap it in some time i love taking my onigir on me to go but the nori laways get soggy before i get the chance to enoy it, my convinients stors dont sell onigir, the hack is perfect can't wait to use it the next time i take my onigir with me out!!! love to the creator
Is there any way to improve how well the nori stays wrapped around the onigiri package? I really like the hack, but the nori seems to fall apart when removing the aluminum seal.
I guess the key is to get a thin foil that strong enough to fold and not break to hold the rice ball and will tear when you pull the tape to open it. The tape needs to stick to it firmly of course.
How much for that packet of tuna/mayo? Always wondered how those onigiri packaging worked, good hack job. I gotta admit though, all my life ate onigiri with soft nori, so I prefer it soft.
CelestialLites hi it comes in a 8 pack from memory. 4 in a sheet and just tear them off. So just a couple of dollars. All individually packaged of course. Usually I just get a can of tuna, drain it then mix in the mayo.
Rod Pasichnyk hi. I use a automatic rice cooker and it’s normal short grain rice. I put just a lithe more water than the amount required. That makes the rice softer and moist
Rod Pasichnyk theres a line in my bowl. If I do 2 cups I should fill the bowl with water to the kind that says 2. So I always fill it a little over the 2 line.
Kayla hi I got the foul from a 100yen shop ($1 shop). It’s a thin sandwich foil used for school lunches picnics etc. you could use kitchen aluminum foil just be gentle with it. The thinner the better.
Arran I assumed that was like a dollar store and that I didn’t have one nearby. I’m in Florida so unfortunately there aren’t too many Asian shops nearby. I’ll see if I can find some online, otherwise I’ll check in shops next time I’m in LA at Korea Town or China Town. In the meantime I’ll work with good old aluminum foil. Thanks for your help and the awesome video! 👏🏼
Adam Smith yes I can do that next week. I’m uploading one on how to do an Onsen tomago ( safe version of raw egg - ever so lightly poached so it’s cooked but runny) great for toppings like on gyudon etc. cheers for the request. I’m on to it.
This deserves far more likes than it got. I can’t buy wrappers here. So this is the perfect alternative.
Thanks … I seem to fly under the youtube popularity radar
@@bentobuster6995I wish you show how to make maki sushi roll with nori keeping dry like onigiri.
@@tuja464 thanks for the request. I’ll look into it.
Another excellent video! You always make it easy to duplicate!
Peter Clingen thank you Peter 😉
Great hack. This technique would be fun to use for party favors.🎉
Bobbi Catton cool. It’s a neat solution.
Great hack! Love it.

Cool. I made this years ago. It definitely works. Yes crisp nori for the win makes a difference.
Nice hack. Great video as always.👋👋
Jennifer Hattig thank you Jennifer!!!

Is that how it works!! No way! I bought one of these once and I totally wrecked it, had to try and eat through the plastic haha. This is great vid!!
Dusty Bugs thanks so much. Kind of a neat trick to try.
origami onigiri!! @@bentobuster6995
Perfect, thank you 🙏 I had that in my mind last week. So I will push that up my to do list.
素晴らしいです!

Hi Maybe thinner foil. This is a sandwich wrap foil. Extremely thin. Maybe a wax sandwich paper might work … hmmm 🤔
I was wondering if you could show the different types of noodles eaten in Japan?
Tammy Perritt sure 👍I can get into that. Thanks for the request 😀 Tammy
answer pls, what kind of wrapper is that? where do you bought it?
that patterned foil
That one I got from a 100 yen store. Like a dollar shop. Eg daiso. It’s like tin foil sandwich wrap. It’s quite thin.

Does the same wrapping principle apply if its a steak?!
Ryan Schneider VLOGS hmmm... 😆 no we would eat that steak quick smart 👍
OMG, this is genius! Tuna Mayo for the win. How do you come up with this stuff?
Ericsurf6 I’m a Surf6er - I get ideas and my instinct for UA-cam from watching past Ericsurf6 vids.

CelestialLites yes I like the soft version too. But it’s also interested me how the packaging worked.
What's the secret to making sticky rice like that?
Rod Pasichnyk hi. I use a automatic rice cooker and it’s normal short grain rice. I put just a lithe more water than the amount required. That makes the rice softer and moist
Mine's either too dry, or too muchy, lol!

What's that rice-ball maker cost?
Rod Pasichnyk you can get it at the dollar shop. I got mine in a 2 set ( with a smaller one) from amazon I think. Just a couple of $
Tuna/mayo, mmmmm!
Rod Pasichnyk comfort 😊 food
Anyone know where to get foil like this. I’ve never seen it in person and would love an online shop but can’t seem to find one.

Arran Plot twist! I found an online shop that sells it, including your exact design! Thanks again. 🤗
Hi I just checked on amazon.com there were insulated foil sandwich wraps squares. This is probably damp thing.
