    My take on lyrics:
    Like the wind
    You came here runnin"
    Take the consequence of livin'
    There's no space
    There's no tomorrow
    There's no sense communicatin"
Check it in, check it out
Or the sun will never shine
    Paranoid anyway
In the suff-ring of your mind
    Like the wind
    You're going somewhere
Let a smile be your companion
    There's no blaze (or place)
    And there's no sorrow
In the young and restless dreamer
Check it in, check it out
Or the sun will never shine
    Paranoid anyway
In the suff-ring of your mind
    (instrumental)
Check it in, check it out
Or the sun will never shine
    Paranoid anyway
In the suff-ring of your mind
Check it in, check it out
    Its the summer blues
Tear it in, tear it out
    Is it really you

I remember actually hearing this on the radio in the 80's in America🇺🇸🤔🎶
Crazy it has such an enigma surrounding it😳🎶

I try to NOT get involved with the "research" because so many have tried & failed.

Upon hearing this "pitch corrected" version, I'm getting vibes of Aussie bands from the early '80's, such as Icehouse, or The Church, and even New Zealand's Split Enz. However, the vocals are still impossible to make out, especially with all the reverb that's been applied. Regardless, you should send this to Whang! I'm sure he'd be curious about this slight pitch adjustment.

If I remember right, this song was from a set of songs recorded off the radio onto cassette in the early 80's. I'm guessing there are variables that could cause the pitch to be incorrect (temperature, stretching of the magnetic tape itself?) An accurate way to determine what the pitch should be would be if someone took the original recording of all of the radio songs on that cassette and listened to the known songs recorded before and after this one. If the pitch is off to the same degree on those songs before and after, adjust to make the other 2 correct and you'll have the correct pitch for this one.

Wonderful job here! I want to point out that everyone automatically hears "Like the Wind" because that's how the song has been titled so far. However, Darius (the person who brought up the mystery) may have been close when he titled it "Blind the Wind". It could be just me but I hear "Ride the Wind".
Anyway, here's my guess for the lyrics which, as I understand them, make me think of a young German person trying to find a new place in a divided country.
    Ride the wind
    You came here running

Now that the song was found (FEX - Subways of Your Mind), a somewhat higher quality version was uploaded, the original band made an acoustic rendition, and plans are being made for them to do a live performance, the title & info on this video ought to be changed to indicate that it was theoretical since the pitch in the latest versions sound very close to what this was edited from rather than this re-pitch.

    There's no space,
    There's no tomorrow,

Well I know it anyway, [I'm [somwhere / some way] on your mind? / that some way [on] you min[e/d]?]

    My interpretation of the lyrics:
Like the wind, you came here running
Take the consequence of leaving (living?)
There's no space, there's no tomorrow
There's no sent communications (or "There's no sense of ?unication", tho idk if there's such a word)
Check it in, check it out, or the sun will never shine,
Paranoid anyway in the subways of your mind (there's a long dirty way?)
Like the wind, you're going somewhere
Let a smile be your companion
There's no place, and there's no sorrow
In the young and restless dreamer (though the last word sounds more like "dreaming")
Check it in, check it out, or the sun will never shine,
Paranoid anyway in the subways of your mind,
    Check it in, check it out, it's the summer blues;
    Tear it in, tear it out, it's the real excuse;
