Now that the song was found (FEX - Subways of Your Mind), a somewhat higher quality version was uploaded, the original band made an acoustic rendition, and plans are being made for them to do a live performance, the title & info on this video ought to be changed to indicate that it was theoretical since the pitch in the latest versions sound very close to what this was edited from rather than this re-pitch.

I firmly believe it is Christian Brandl. The song talks of sadness. Christian Brandl died in 1987. Look up the obituary. Look up Discogs on Christian Brandl that he died of suicide March 1, 1987.

I recently got a vinyl of this!!! Still sealed, just used it, although our speakers weren't perfect, which made the music quiet.

Happy to solve this one. But I want to give credit where credit is due. I thank the people in the OPs comments that said it was from the 80s/90s which helped me narrow it down. I would have kept looking into 60s/70s if not for that.

I have this album....this is the opening track and its Wavestation by Wavestation recorded in 90 released very limited in 91 very limited cd release....1. Wavestation 2. Let it all go 3. Edge of night 4.Fall Away 5. I Know 6. Another Fish 7. Rain 8. Waters edge cafe. There was a second album called Mona Lisa released in 94 and a few years later the Brothers Rob Drew (r.i.p.) guitars etc. and Buzz Drew vocals etc. had a 90's metal project FA-Q and released the album EACH HIT then nothing that I know of. Before Wavestation they had a metal band called Witchfawn.......they are originally from Canada and migrated to Seattle in the early to mid 90's where they recorded (Wavestation) Mona Lisa and (FA-Q) EACH HIT.

This song is so good; I think wave station might be one of my favorite bands. Most teens my age listen to weird black rap music. While I listen to this masterpeice and other lost media music.

Until Wavestation releases the HQ version of Wavestation (which it is confirmed that they will), this is my favorite song from them that I won't stop listening to.
