    I'm 6' 3" with a 34 inch inseam and I took one of these for a test ride last week and it fit me like a glove. By far the most comfortable I've ever been on a bike. I put my bike up for sale at the weekend and one of these - the black/gold one - is on my shopping list. I'm considering swapping out the stock seat for the scrambler seat from the X-Tribute version. Looks better IMO and gives another inch or so of leg room. That CP2 engine is a s sweet as a nut too.

      @@2wheeledwillie395 Cheers. My local Yamaha dealer has a couple of black/gold ones in at the moment, though it was the white/blue one I had out for a test. I was seriously impressed. I sat on it and would probably have paid for one there and then before even starting it up. No issues at all with leg room and reach to or lean on the bars. Such a relief to not have to contort yourself or put up with any niggly, crampy ergos. Should have looked at one years ago.

    I bought mine in white last week. Agree with most things you say. But the instrument cluster is better in this position than the last one. Its easier to look at. Keep the videos coming. Wana aee what you do with it.

      Hi Imran...the new instrument cluster position doesn't allow you to fix any after market screens( except the one that Yamaha do) I'm sure companies will start to make them but as it stands only the Yamaha screen fits which is annoying...aside from that I absolutely love the bike and have lots of plans for it!....enjoy Yr new XSR It's a REALLY great bike 👍

    Hi Willie i have just brought a 68 plate XSR 700 because my Triumph Street Cup was causing me aches and pains being so low.I would strongly suggest looking at the SW Motec rear brake reservoir cover to fill in what i think is an ugly gap,the kit also includes a cover for the opposite side,all easily bolted on with no mods required.

    Hi, even though you mention the flat seat is firm, how much firmer than stock, and did you get the seat from a dealer. I’ve ordered mine via Yamaha UK. Got mine serviced on Tuesday by an independent, and a trusted one at that 👌and I asked them to Motul engine oil in which they did, but they did use a genuine Yamaha oil filter. Not had chance to give the bike a good run yet as the weather up here, Northwest UK is just pants 👎🏻. Like you mentioned, the bike is just awesome 👌.
    All the best 👍🏻

      @2wheeledwillie395  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Dave ... I would say the flat seat is quite a bit firmer than the stock one although maybe it just needs to "bed in" ... ive been riding the Royal Enfield quite a lot recently which has an extremely soft seat so that might also have something to do with it 🤔 ..I bought my seat from Flitwick motorcycles (really good company)...I also had my bike serviced at an independent Garage, they used yamaha parts and I've been using them for the past 15 years and trust them 100%...hope the weather brightens up soon and you can get back in the saddle! 👍

    Interesting review and surprised to hear the complaints about the seat, as one other reviewer I like said he found it very plush. I thought it would be an upgrade on the standard seat, which is already quite nice, which is so unusual for most motorcycles. Guess I have to find out myself how I feel about that seat. I do like the design even more than the standard seat, and I like that it makes the position higher. At 6'2 this seems like a great bike for me. I did sit on the Z650RS as well, and found that to be passable, not bad, but the XSR definitely has a bit more legroom. The Ducati Scrambler I found not comfortable seat wise. My main gripe with the XSR is that it doesnt have an analogue dash, and that is what draws me to the Z650RS which has a gorgeous analogue dash. Bad call Yamaha, otherwise this bike would be perfect. I may still buy this over the Kawa because of the seat position/extra height and because of the engine. Then again both bikes need an aftermarket exhaust to sound good, they are very quiet, so you can ask yourself if the CP2 is much more glorious than that parallel twin from Kawa? That one does sound every so tinny stock though.

    I've just been into a Suzuki/Yamaha dealer to look at the new Gsxs1000 Gt and they had those xsr700 in there. I think they look small, certainly for a fat bastard like me. I'm glad you find it comfy though, cos I really do wanna see you keep a bike longer than a month or two.
    If my scan shows I don't need surgery and this is something I'm gunna have to live with, I'm gunna need something lighter than the RT. Finding something lighter to take my weight/height and to be able to tour on is proving harder than I thought.

I'd need to get off it after an hour and swing my arm round like an orangutan at a rave, but at least it'll give me an idea of how comfy it is and if the lesser weight of it makes a big difference. If I do, I'll film it and stick it up.
      The problem with an RT, is they spoil you. Its honestly the first bike over the last 10 years (since I've been gaining weight) that doesn't bat an eyelid at carrying me around. It's fast, it handles well, loads of payload capacity on top of my weight, comfortable, and still does 53mpg no matter how you ride it.
      Will be a big pull to get me away from it that's for sure. All depends what's happening with this shoulder. Don't really wanna keep dropping the RT, that's the problem.

I also have owned two Viragos, one where the oil pressure light kept flickering on, the other woreout both timing chains and rattled like crazy at 20,000 miles and a Star (Yamaha) Stratoliner which was poorly engineered and handled like driving a wash tub down the highway.
