I own a 2015 392 in white. Fully loaded. What a car. The reviewer is spot on. After owning this car, the Hellcat and Demon are absolute overkill in my opinion. The 392 is more than enough. Comfortable, roomy, great brakes, plenty of power, and loud as hell under load. Go Mopar.
People can base their favorite off of the soul-less numbers and spreadsheets, but the Challenger, in MY opinion, has class. It has that muscle look. Highly subjective lol.
kez850 yeah I'm biased toward Camaro but, Camaro is more of a sports vehicle now with the newer modes being made smaller and better drifting. the Challenger is the last real American Muscle car.
I'm looking for a 3.92 for the spring but I do love them all for different reasons. I can see why each owner would love their car. For me the Challenger is for the heritage look.
Stangs are ugly and tiny. Camero is better than the stang, ZL1’s are absolutely sexy, father in law owns one and damn. But challenger is the sexiest of all. Beautiful, built like a tank and sturdy. There’s no other look that’s so aggressive and mean.
I have the 6M and it's fun to me, I love it, the 8AT is slightly faster of course but it's not a huge difference especially if you don't plan to race it.
last month i got the 2016 Charger SRT392 in B5 blue.. and oh man do I ever love that car!!! let me tell you, track mode is awesome!!! but yea.. i really want my 2nd car to be an SRT challenger of some sort. i feel like that car would be tons of fun too!
I like the mustangs looks but like you said too much of a sports car. I’ve always thought camaros were ugly. Chargers are ok but too many people have them. But the challenger looks more like a muscle car
From the UA-cam videos I've seen, the ZL1 is a nice car alright but loses in races with a Hellcat. Interior does not compare either. Rear seats, trunk provide more space.
Jeff Powers that's because most races are the automatic hellcat compared to the manual zl1. The hellcat is tested at 3.6 0-60 and quarter in 11.6. Zl1 is at 3.5 0-60 and quarter in 11.4. And it of course is way way better in a corner. It actually beat the Shelby gt350 on the Nurburgring. All around a better sports car than the hellcat.
Aah. There's the issue. Camaro is a sports car. Challenger is a muscle car. Not designed for same driving style. I like the Camaro. I used to have a Z-28 myself. Beautiful car.
Jeff, your more-immature reviews have always been enjoyable though feeling appropriately-crass. It is telling of your skill as a presenter to offer that lighthearted presentation style and then turn around and deliver a mature, measured, and thorough review that all audiences can enjoy without batting an eye. This ranks highly as one of the best car reviews I've seen, bravo.
Great American gem the dodge challenger ! Beautiful looking car ! Great American technology , American car styles are best looking , best engines (Big V8,s !) Pure Quality .
That was an excellent review. A very good job of positioning the car for the potential buyer. I haven't driven the Challenger or Camero, just a 2016 Charger Scat Pack and a 2017 Mustang GT Premium. The 392 is a lion. IMO it leaves a far greater impression than the 5.0 Coyote, which is a great engine. The hemi is addicting after one drive. Oh and thanks for not bouncing it off the rev limiter in neutral.
Yes I agree, this car has stayed true to it's original look, and they are just a beutiful car , i don't ever want the front end to change , when i look at the challenger it talks to me and say's yea I'm that Good!! now what ya gonna do!! you just wish you could be like me!!
great video, and speaking from 2022 this is the most accurate throw back model theyve ever made. the dash, the leather seats... imo its the best modern era challenger compared to current scat packs
Excellent review! I'm hoping to be in the market sometime next year. If I ever was on the fence, watching this video pulled me right off it. It's refreshing to hear a reviewer understand the difference between the Challenger vs. the Camaro and Mustang. Those are two fine cars but the Challenger has stayed more true to its muscle car heritage. We're living in great times if you're into "pony" or "muscle" cars - some great choices out there.
The Challenger's really in a class of its own at this point, now that the Mustang and Camaro have wandered off into Euro-coupe territory. I admit that I don't really like the new interior, though - I have a 2014 100th Anniversary Edition, and while I could maybe deal with a little higher resolution and more colors on the LCD portion (or is it VFD?), the shape and overall design of the dash is a lot more traditional and fits the style of the car better. I also just want to say that I got the V6 on purpose, both for fuel economy and cost - there's no need to spend $52,000 on a Challenger, and I don't think the choice Challenger owners make is the one you said at the end. My choice was still between a Challenger and Mustang (the Camaro is just too uncomfortable and has terrible sight lines... also, it's ugly.) 305 horsepower would have been insane when I was a kid, and to get that for under $30 grand (I paid less than $20k for mine CPO) is just a smokin' deal. Sure, I'd love to have an SRT 392 if I won one in a Price is Right showcase, but $52k is just getting stupid for a car like this. Original Challengers never cost anything close to that even adjusted for inflation - these aren't supercars, they're supposed to be everyman cars. Just as the Mustang and Camaro have strayed from their roots, the more expensive the Challenger gets, the further it strays from *its* roots. It's just doing it in a different way. I'll stick with an everyman Challenger, and I love it.
A great review! Nailed it when you mentioned this car is not a competitor with the Camaro and Mustang. The only reason the three are mentioned together is because of the 70s. You are absolutely right that this is not a sports car and is more of a grand touring car. I own a 2015 R/T Scat Pack and it's a great highway car. Wanna drive on a road course then this isn't the car. Get a Camaro or Mustang.
DevPack Still not " basically the same thing" as people like to say.. you gain a lot with the SRT 392. if you want an RT with the power of the 392, then yes, the Scat Pack is for you.
Sorry but Sprint have nothing to do with Uconnect. They are only providing internet access so apps can work. The real company behind uConnect that make it so good is Harman Kardon, they did the software behind that run on the QNX operating system.
Great Review! That Challenger looks great but, I really love the look of the Mustang. Personally, style wise, I would rank the Mustang in first, the Challenger in 2nd and then the Camaro in 3rd. Keep up the great work!
I just like the classic look! I could go for a mustang, but the styling is so much more typical, and common. The Challenger is unqiue and classic and most people would agree on classics having the best styling and the Challenger is the closet to that. But to each their own
it's a great looking and they're all badass Car's the hellcat and the 392 but the clutch when ur double clutching it is the clutch going to blow up??? With in a day or two???
I am GM Chevy hands down but they lost their look if I had to get one of these it will be a challenger these things are wicked cool looking they stay true to the muscle car look and not competing with European cars love the V8 beefy sound just all around I will buy one over Camaro any day
While I totally agree that the SRT 392 is a thing of beauty, my first exposure to the challenger was my next door neighbor, who had a 1970 challenger 340. At the time he was a cop who could go on the best straight highway and cut it loose without the worry of a speeding ticket. I had wanted one since then, but then Dodge destroyed it with a 4 cylinder shitbox, bummer. But then the concept challenger appeared and it was so much like the '70 but nastier. I finally was able to get my SRT 392 and from the second week things began to go wrong, but only after 4 visits did they replace the radiator, 5 visits to replace a moaning rear diff, sensors for traction control, adaptive cruise control, and finally the #5 cylinder went and blew the motor. 2 years to destroy my love of this thing as the dealer would just temp fix it and it would mess up again within weeks. I won't give any more details on the rest of this nightmare but the computer was the problem and for some reason they had no desire to fix it. Their response was " can't duplicate the problem", even after I took pictures of things to prove to the dealer they didn't give a fig about me. I couldn't trade it in as the problems were printed out when the vin# came up and wanted no part of me, I couldn't sell it privately for the same reason. I got an a try finally and used the lemon law to get out of it and Dodge ended up eating it. I then took back the deposit I had for a new hellcat and haven't looked back as I used the check from Dodge to order the new '17 ZL1 and l have 15000+miles on it and haven't had even one problem, I'm so glad I didn't get the new challenger after the nightmare I had with mine. The 17 & 18 hellcat wide body and the regular hellcat have the same quality control issues my '15 had. FCA is selling so many cars they can't keep up with the problems people are having with these things. Very sad... Why my ZL1 hasn't had even a hickup and the challenger was hit or miss if the check engine would light up and give me error codes. A damn shame, lemons do happen and I was fine with that fact, just fix the frekin car, they wouldn't do anything about it as the computer was $7000 to replace but every time I got the "we can't duplicate the problem". Imagine my surprise when after the 36000mile warrentee expired, now everything is wrong with the car and it pissed me off I was blown off before the warrantee, now after I'm informed they can fix it by putting new sensors and computer among other crap for approx $8000, not counting the blown motor. Effin bastards, I hope this does not happen to any of you reading my post, I've been MOPAR most of my life, but after this I went to the ZL1, which can take out a hellcat in a race as well. I look forward to the day when the SRT will be as reliable as my ZL1.
Dominick Sforza the hellcat is faster in a race. But yeah I hoped their fixed, apparently some of their cars are fantastic! And some are poor it's just bad hit or miss. I hope they fix it
5.0-SS-392 are same class of car. GT350 is kind of on its own. Even though it is currently Mustang top option (still waiting on the GT500), it really doesn't compete with the ZL1 or Hellcat. Hellcat and ZL1 are same class. Hellcat fastest in straightline from all of these cars, but the ZL1 and GT350 are tops when it comes to a track, especially if you get the ZL1 1LE.
How did you get yours with the stripes running through it? Is there a scatpack package option with these sort of stripes, or did you or whoever detail it personally after? I think challengers look better with stripes, but i can never find one that has it like this. Thanks
I've owned 2 challengers (scat pack and now a Hellcat) and both were manual. Never once did I consider getting the automatic transmission. I'll get an automatic transmission on like a normal daily driver 2nd car.
@Mikeman Jordan Dyno doesn’t measure reaction time.. lol what he meant is the A7 shifts faster than an M6 and has that had been proven racetrack proven.
Matt Davis best daily driver and grand touring car rather than a soul less number cars like the Mustang or camaro. find get me wrong a three are great cars but each has a different purposes
40 seconds in and I agree about the bad comparison between the Challenger and the Camaro/Mustang. I've been in and driven all three and the Challenger is a much bigger cruiser. I know even Dodge likes to make the comparison but it's really not a fair one. Challengers have usable trunks and back seats while Mustang and Camaros don't. It's also likely why the Challenger isn't as nimble/fast as the other two.
Grimm and Lily but all Challengers aren't made alike. You can't pop in a Challenger and rate the handling if you haven't driven all the challengers. it has to be Apples to Apples.
I've driven all the current Challengers except the Hellcat. I don't think you'll find anyone who will say the Challengers handle better than the Mustang and Camaro for most applications. Challengers have their places but they're usually beaten by the other two unless you're talking straight line racing.
I want one so bad. Mustang is paid off and I'm sick of it but wife wants me to wait until her's is paid off. I'm obsessed over the Challenger and look up cars for sale every damn night
Go Mopar.
Indeed same. Have driven it for 5 years, got 160k kms on it and I am still lovin it!
People can base their favorite off of the soul-less numbers and spreadsheets, but the Challenger, in MY opinion, has class. It has that muscle look. Highly subjective lol.

yeah I'm biased toward Camaro but, Camaro is more of a sports vehicle now with the newer modes being made smaller and better drifting. the Challenger is the last real American Muscle car.

@@TheRoninTezz p0
The challenger has the best looking headlights in my opinion
I agree your opinion
This car looks sooooo much better than the Camaro and the Mustang imo...
not better, to me this car had more serious and strong look not handsome
You're wrong
Mustang look greater than it
but head lights are unique in challenger in my point
New mustang is fugly
All 3 have strengths and weaks
First camaro mvp
Second mustang g.o.a.t.
Third challenger for the W

I've got the hellcat. Best buy I've ever made!
Got the Srt 392 and LOVE IT.
6M or 8A!? i cant decide!
I have the 6M and it's fun to me, I love it, the 8AT is slightly faster of course but it's not a huge difference especially if you don't plan to race it.
Believe if you go with the 6M, you won't be disappointed the car is FAST regardless, I've embarrassed quite a few cars trying to show off against me.
cool! thanks for the input man. been torn between 6M challenger and 8A charger
You're welcome, they are both great cars, but to me the Challenger looks better and will more likely be more of a collectable car down the line.
Dec 31, 2023 RIP Challenger and Charger. I just picked up a 2017 SRT in octane red. Long live our Challengers!
last month i got the 2016 Charger SRT392 in B5 blue.. and oh man do I ever love that car!!! let me tell you, track mode is awesome!!! but yea.. i really want my 2nd car to be an SRT challenger of some sort. i feel like that car would be tons of fun too!
See... that's what a car review should be. A testament to the glory of good old American Muscle.
I feel EXACTLY the same with the Challenger and Charger being muscle cars. Mustang and Camaro are now true sports car. I love my SRT Charger.
I like the mustangs looks but like you said too much of a sports car. I’ve always thought camaros were ugly. Chargers are ok but too many people have them. But the challenger looks more like a muscle car
Nice job Jeff. "Long live the Challenger". Great way to end a great review of the 392.
Fast forward 6 years...
Rip challenger
No comparison to Mustang or Camaro. I've got a 2016 Hellcat and it's just awesome!!! Nice review BTW.
Jeff Powers you know you have a hot car when your wife's girlfriends want you to give up them a ride in it! Lol!
ZL1 definitely compares.
From the UA-cam videos I've seen, the ZL1 is a nice car alright but loses in races with a Hellcat. Interior does not compare either. Rear seats, trunk provide more space.

Great video.. I've just order mine.... Red with double-black stripes... It'll arrive in 4 weeks.... Can't wait....

I got a kick out of this review and I feel that it is dead on about the evolution of the classic American Muscle cars. Thanks I enjoyed it a lot.
Great American gem the dodge challenger ! Beautiful looking car ! Great American technology , American car styles are best looking , best engines (Big V8,s !) Pure Quality .

Thanks for your show mate . 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺 Bring them to Australia we would love them . American cars are loved here big time .
love the look and all the stripes on the pavement as well.
Bad ass muscle car period love it!
Easy solution if the SRT is too much money. Scat Pack stats at 39K with the 392 hemi in it.
DevPack Still not " basically the same thing" as people like to say.. you gain a lot with the SRT 392. if you want an RT with the power of the 392, then yes, the Scat Pack is for you.
CeeStyleDj scat pack does not equal the SRT 392 but no doubt it's the best value in the Challenger line up!
I have the srt8 392, the car is awesome, all the power I could ever need.
Ohhh I want another one...I had a 2012 SRT.... 6spd manual.....and I like that Laguna leather.. but in Tan....
Looks good in the B5 blue.
Sorry but Sprint have nothing to do with Uconnect. They are only providing internet access so apps can work. The real company behind uConnect that make it so good is Harman Kardon, they did the software behind that run on the QNX operating system.
Jonathan McMahon is QNX Android or Linux based?
QNX, Android and Linux are all Unix based
Jonathan McMahon we cant get internet on our uconnect in canada👎👎
LONG LIVE THE CHALLENGER!!
Pretty sure Chrysler has been making their own version of the ZF 8-speed under license for a few years now as part of the original supply deal.
Great Review! That Challenger looks great but, I really love the look of the Mustang. Personally, style wise, I would rank the Mustang in first, the Challenger in 2nd and then the Camaro in 3rd. Keep up the great work!
DriveAndBeDriven I agree with that order. I have challenger which l love but Ford finally got it right with new mustang design.

"The Quest To Record The Best!"
The only muscle car in 2017 is the challenger.
I like the Challenger better, but you really can't go wrong with either. Yay, choice!
I just like the classic look! I could go for a mustang, but the styling is so much more typical, and common. The Challenger is unqiue and classic and most people would agree on classics having the best styling and the Challenger is the closet to that. But to each their own
I like muscle / sports cars period both classic & new. Not just stuck on one. Challenger is definitely nice.
Dodge challange is my favourite car. I like you video...
it's a great looking and they're all badass Car's the hellcat and the 392 but the clutch when ur double clutching it is the clutch going to blow up??? With in a day or two???

While I totally agree that the SRT 392 is a thing of beauty, my first exposure to the challenger was my next door neighbor, who had a 1970 challenger 340. Those $30k mustangs and cameros are also 6-cylinder vehicles. The v8 ones start around $60k
You honestly can't even put this in the same ballpark as the gt350 and ZL1
Bo Hochwarter yea not the 392 but if ur talking bout the hellcat then yea u can put it in the same ball park even then hellcat is dangerous good way😍
Bo Hochwarter the 392 isn't the top of the line Dodge. To compare the gt350 and the zl1, you need to compare the hellcat
This in matte black would be🔥🔥
My dream car😍
once you noticed those headlights from a far you know already its a challenger
I would say its more than updated.
Awesome...heading down to my local dealer...B5 blue
Love the challenger
I love this car.
Wish they updated the interior a bit. The Camaro interior and options are way better IMO
...The interior is completely different in the 15/16 models than it was previously.
Awesome car one of my favorite
I SAY I SAY "I must concur my good man I must concur"
The challenger's just eye candy!!!
In the quiet words of Wayne Campbell "It will be mine, oh yes, it will be mine."
Qué hermosa experiencia debe ser la de manejar ese carro
How did you get yours with the stripes running through it? Is there a scatpack package option with these sort of stripes, or did you or whoever detail it personally after? I think challengers look better with stripes, but i can never find one that has it like this. Thanks
Great video Brother thanks!.
I love the Dodge Challenger SRT 392
I always wanted one!!!!
Manual is nice but deff slower!
Legendary Loso but a lot more fun and your connected more too! Hence why it's been the true enthusiasts and driver's choice for decades
I've owned 2 challengers (scat pack and now a Hellcat) and both were manual. Never once did I consider getting the automatic transmission. I'll get an automatic transmission on like a normal daily driver 2nd car.

my favorite car
I like my GTO more.

I'd love that car!
You look exactly like Greg Miller that worked with IGN...
Yeah Baby!!!!
OMG i love this Car
Great video!
that's a proper muscle car!
Such a manly looking car, less angles than the others, anyone else feel the same way?
My dream car!!
My dream car
Best ever muscle car
Drives normal but when you punch the gas she’s gone the reveiws do no justice how fast these really go in person
Can somebody tell me what color combination this SRT is? I think it's the best looking Challenger I've ever seen. It just looks right.
The color is "B5 Blue Pearlcoat" with the Twin Black Center Stripes option ($595) www.autobytel.com/dodge/challenger/2016/color/
I like this dodge challenger
The mustang looks overweight the camaro looks like a 69 if I squint alot the Challenger is perfect
Rich Tesar even though the challenger is the heaviest one lol
Matt Davis best daily driver and grand touring car rather than a soul less number cars like the Mustang or camaro. find get me wrong a three are great cars but each has a different purposes
The Challenger is the heaviest because it's the biggest. It has a usable trunk and usable backseat. Actual cabin and cargo space!
Matt Davis Challengers are still the fastest production car.
Yeah bro is the last muscle car.
Such a beautiful chariot 😍😍😍😍😍😍😘
Uhh grabé uno exactamente igual en mi nuevo video
could you drive in the winter
Nice video
S to the R to the T...
Thanks for the info
The voice sounds like Jason Cammissa from motor trend (I think)
the reviewer is named Jeff Glucker. His channel is called Hooniverse
Jeff is much better than Cammisa.. no comparison. Jeff is Real.
Aww. I like Jason though ( Thanks for the kind words)
