- For weeks we’ve watched Mass streamed online. Fr. John Paul takes us “Inside the Friary” to show us how a priest prepares for the celebration of Mass and gives a brief catechesis about his preparation.

Thank you so much for sharing your lives in the Friary, and the guitar music and haircuts, etc. So human and so blessed. It has restored the joy of learning these things as a child in Catholic school. This is the closest to heaven that there is today on earth. Thank you to all the priests, brothers, sisters and the vestments. I am so glad that I can share in the masses also, when I am unable to do so in church.

Thank you very much for this installment, Father John Paul! This is very informative! Many Catholics do not get to see these things or if they do, understand what they are seeing. It’s nice to know that both forms of the Mass are celebrated there. Thanks for explaining how the entire Mystical Body of Christ is prayed for during the Mass. We, the Church militant, are blessed to have the Franciscan Missionaries of the Eternal Word leading us in spiritual warfare. Fr. John Paul Mary, I told Fr. Paschal about a historic church in Philadelphia that is called The Church Brewery Works-this church is in Philadelphia and it was once a Catholic Church--it closed in 1993 and it's now it's a brewery

You must feel so privileged knowing that you are acting as Christ’s disciple here on earth, to bring us nearer to God and his loving grace and forgiveness in the form of the holy Eucharist which he wants his followers to be nourished by.
In these dark times I thank God for the EWTN network which I tune into everyday to hear mass from your friary, the beautiful music the reverence of the celebration of mass along with some of the liturgy in Latin reminds me of how mass was said in the sixties. I live in the U.K. but if I cannot get your coverage of the mass I feel distressed you all bring me peace and joy through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Thank you for your direct instructions on how as a holy Priest prepares and acknowledges the vestments and what each part of the garment is needed to properly represent Christ Jesus in the flesh with His holy spirit power in preist. I enjoyed this video. As a former CCD first holy communion. Teacher this is excellent video to show to children's preparation so to understand what priests go through to offer the cebration of the Mass and prayers he needs to say in and through his heart. To be in the presence of God. Also good for adults for RCIA classes. Awesome. Scripture s and prayers said as well. Holy attire that priest wear and respect. Holiness of the alter. Never knew that an ordinary priest wearing the "Roman" (fiddleback) chasuble can wear the stole straight down when saying the "Novous Ordo" Mass (as opposed to the crossed stole associated with the 1962 rubrics).

Why does the priest wipe inside the chalice after he pours wine and water in it before celebration. Also some priests bend their index fingers after touching the host; why? Furthermore some washed their hands before and after distribution of the hosts. Was it because of COVID?
Finally, where do most of the friars go for weeks at a time, vacation, retreats; like the last of May 2021 only Fr Joseph was doing the mass each day except Wednesday when Fr Pachwa. helps.

The maniple is not required for the novus ordo mass. But also not forbidden.
