I think it is because it was my commercial to introduce the channel. Then I made the mistake of launching 9 episodes at once. I over saturated it, so the views were spread out for all the others. However, it was a great learning lesson.

You *can* have this work for you fast, when you just start out. Or it goes slower. Both are fine and it doesn’t mean one person necessarily does keyword research better. It depends on a lot of factors (how well do you hook people, your thumbnails, are your titles something your audience wants to click on, what’s your personality, how is the competition?). The keyword research you did now may feel like a waste of time (in my experience, most of the time) but it also can make your videos take off a year from now. UA-cam’s algorithm is a weird thing, but as opposed to social media, your videos are more “evergreen” here, meaning they can be found anytime and the ranking of your videos can shoot up very suddenly, sometimes. I feel like, after 7 months of posting weekly, and gaining 300 subs, UA-cam is now starting to recommend my videos on some more competitive videos from competitors. But when and how this all happens is unique to every channel. Using these tools doesn’t guarantee success, but they increase your chances of it. Don’t expect immediate results. But expect long term results, if you’re consistent.

Change your title and thumbnail after long periods of time. Upload consistently. Have good content. Respond to your comments. Be nice.

Hi Sean, this is such a great tutorial, thank you. I did a lot of learning with Sunny so I'm pretty good at researching keywords. However despite getting high scoring keywords and lots of engagement my views are frustratingly low. I'm scratching my head 🤷🏻♀️

My most view video is Why I Bake In My Rice Cooker. It is one of my earliest video and the production was so poor. I think UA-cam decided to promote that video a few after I uploaded it and the only thing I could attribute to was, I changed my tags and added more keywords in my description. Still not sure why the jump but thankful for the drastic subscribers! Now... slowing down again. But gotta hang on to that rope while the train drags me 🤣
And yes! Totally agreed on the hashtags. In the process of trying to update my videos with my own brand and updating keywords to higher volume and longer terms

I give you all one suggestion for small UA-cam channels never and ever you give up, good days are coming for you🤟❤ all the best👍💯
Another suggestion is to stop calling yourself a small UA-camr. Thinking of yourself that way, oftentimes makes you end up doing shady strategies that come off more spammy than anything else. It's just your journey and stop looking at those vanity metrics in the very beginning and start creating more helpful videos, and your growth will come.
Discovered you just only yesterday but i feel like I have retained more information from you than other videos I watch. Awesome job on giving very helpful information and keeping me engaged throughout the video.

New to UA-cam, finally working on learning the steps better because my niche / Forte is diagnostics. So I know how important it is to know how the pieces work and fit together in some depth to actually be a successful diagnostician. Some stuff can be farmed out, but to manage it, you still have to know it to ensure you are getting quality help.

One real huge thing that you did not talk about was where to put the key words. It's very important. I'm still learning. I don't know if you should put it in the title or if you should put it in the description or you should put it as keywords which one gets more.
