Rather new to DnD, but the randomness truly gets me. Joined a group of 12 (DM makes 13). I was ever so excited, but joining a campaign mid-game.. Well.. Rest of the gang were lvl 5 and at my lvl 1 I died about 5 min after my introduction (DM was kind, my rolls were... shit.. ) So.. Char I spent the better half of the day before on, was now.. Nothing.. Made a new char on the spot, been using him for the past 3 year sessions. Love it, sooo much. What makes this exciting, interresting.. It is the rolls. Rolls, not polls makes DnD fun.
DnD doesn't do plot armour, is my main point. Sry. drunk. I love DnD most for the lack of plot arnour

UA-cam has been doing some dodgy stuff with quality on a bunch of videos all day for me, the latest of which is that this video seems to be in potato version, rather than 1080 as listed... I expect it will sort itself out in time.

Thought for a second my eyes somehow became worse than before 😅. Mind I should schedule an eye exam as needed due to the last one being a couple of years ago. So that's a twist to make the potato early video quality a positive. Didn't hurt my enjoyment regardless of the UA-cam visual issue.

Agreed, This show is made so much better with the captions turned on and in my opinion is the only way to watch NPC D&D, not only does it help when the group are talking over each other but you also get fun little nuggets added by the amazing Lorquin.

I just loved the green screen scene where baradun is getting his book from the arch Fey and Bodger is hitting various animals with his hammer and morphing them! Bodger's giggle and sheer happiness during that scene is epic! 🤣
This is getting better and better with every episode! Baradun's "leader of the dickheads" and Bob"s "murderer" hit me off guard, I was impressed, and seconds after killed with this brilliant acting from Bob

Big chapeau to Ben by the way, not only one of the craziest and funny characters and comedians, but i feel he's also constantly recalling all the story and characters and he doesn't get the dog treats as much as bodger for that :D
Again, such an enjoyable episode. The customs interview thing is both absolutely hilarious and a little bit nerve-wrecking in an anticipatory manner. 😆 It was fun to try and come up with ways to answer in the little space between the question and the answers of the characters. Honestly, I would have blown it.
I have to add, I'm so excited for the new area. I almost feel like I had unlocked a new map in a game!

This is one of their best RP episodes. Bodger Blodger always in character as disinterested is hilarious. But Rowan getting truly involved and taking notes, and cheesing over the polymorph as a "fun mechanic" was genuine DnD. Glad they are really getting into the game
Also I love how Rob specifically tells them if you fail a charisma throw you can't actively lie, and the entire group immediately comes up with an elaborate lie. I much rather see that plan fail, opposed to them planning to coyote across customs
Surely Bob just needs to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth continually until the custom officer either lets him go out of psychological self defence or just goes completely insane from the shear horror of Bob's life story......

D&D Customs is just a wonderful idea, the wishing fountain classic, the appendage comments on the buttons, all just bonkers detail I have no idea how Rob can be that creative! And every little '...OK...' from Rob just makes you simultaneously panic and be dying to know "why? What did they just unknowingly do??" I love it!
Also the sign that was being carried away. Was there a chance that Baradun could have tried to go to that special line for the high sorcerer and blag his way through that way? Or would that have just opened up a can of "Leothil knows I'm alive and here" worms?
This series just keeps getting better and better. Can't believe they only played 10 sessions over 2 years. My biggest wish is when they are done building the permanent D&D location, this series will be uploaded 2-3 episodes per week. Fingers crossed 🤞
they can do that already but release their session in segments. with all the content they produce they most likely don't have time to do more sessions/release more episodes faster. otherwise my guess is they would have already.
@@Sgrand80 Rob has said that having the studio and everyone being in the same workspace will allow them to do more regular, shorter, table sessions.
As an example, filming a 4 hour table session every week would be roughly twice the amount of game time & content (assuming they’ve averaged 7-8ish hours every two months so far).
So, it’s pretty likely they’ll have 2 episodes a week once the studio is in operation. 😅

My dnd group, including dm, are all physicists, and generally we like to not to much math on dnd for a change, but at one time, i had to tell the dm that if everytime, we roll a nat 1, we throw our weapon on an ally, were more likely than not to leave a fight with half of us of us disarmed having severely damaged an ally. You can be sure, fights were quite frustrating 😂
I love that Rob included a functioning wishing well and nobody caught on that more valuable coins increase the chances the wish will be granted. He verified what coins were being thrown in and rolled to check for success.

This niche fictional city has smarter safety regulations than any airport on earth. It's true that they have access to magic stuff that we don't have in the real world, but if we had the golden ball of truth or whatever it was, there's no way we would ask such smart questions. Especially the last one.

I love Adam's commitment to the whole 'Baradun always exposition dumps to everyone he meets' character trait. He knows it's going to come back to bite him but he stays true to the role and it's just so fun to watch.
Loved the balance of power in the hammer ability. Its very powerfull, but the odds of it happening are low so it gets the perfect balance! Rob must have taken some time to sort this out so brilliantly.

and it goes on like 10 minutes and that the interviewer gets inspired by it.

It really is too bad that Bodger doesn't have something immortal / indestructible to attack and get that polymorph check up at the beginning of the day. I can just see a doll in chains being attacked for 10 min while he's giving an inspirational speech.

I like to think that when Bodger says "I don't know anything" and the zone of truth doesn't turn red, it's not because he succeeded the charisma save.
If I'm going under a flawless truth detector, I'd spill my guts out. Including how my rival stole my powers, chased me down, tried to kill me several times, sent me to a bog of hags, where I saved an arch fae, then also tell them the entire truth she revealed to me about the BBEG. If I do not resist the spell, who's gonna doubt or question my words? No guards needed, no trial, no persecution. GGWP
