I reckon you could get a second shelf and mount it from the passenger seat handles, and just remove the front fence from the rear most one. With all the adjustability of how you position them, I reckon you'd be unlucky not to be able to get it all to line up. In fact now I'm thinking about mounting the fence on a hinge so you can lay it out flat to extend the rear unit, or lock it in place vertically if you want to take the front one out.... There's potential there! Thanks for the review, love seeing stuff for the Paj!

Love the comments about people not doing things for the Pajero. I find there are a number of places that do Gen 4 but no older like the Gen 3. I know most things on the Gen 3 & 4 are about the same but its still a pain if there is a minor difference. As you said the Paj is everywhere. I noticed you were putting that handle on upside down at first, see you fixed it. Ive got some spares if you want one. Now for the actually topic comment lmfao. Actually do like them, They look great and would come in very handy for us tourers. As mentioned on FB I think I would know myself out sitting up in the back but if we catch up for a weekend trip Brett I wouldn't mind seeing just how much rom there is.

I made a cargo net for my Pajero. Weighs nothing but best for soft items, not pie ovens! Been great. Good to see some made to fit accessories available for this car.
I tried to make something like this from a trailer net, but when I stuck anything in it, it just hung too low and blocked my view. yeah, its about time alright
@@DENMONKEY Yes, going to install it tomorrow. I'm about to watch your video again to see if I can get some installation tips. Pretty easy from memory, I'll get my son to help out (he's a mechanical fitter and a wizz on the tools). Should be a breeze. Just got back from a 4 day trip down south. Checked out some great camp sites! Paj went great. Got bogged on the track to Long Point (nothing that Max Trax and a bit of shoveling couldn't handle though). Just bottomed out on the wheel ruts and soft sand. I think the Paj needs a lift and some decent tyres. Cheers.

Kaon do some great gear! I recently installed one of their Prado 150 rear door tables in my 90 series Prado. Worked out absolutely awesome! Better than I thought it would. I took the door card off and replaced it with a sheet of 3mm ally and is made a perfect splashback!

Yep.... sold...Buying next pay. If your giving them suggestions... ask them for an add on or a separate part that covers the two side rear windows. Then you can have molle panels on the top and both side.
Just ordered the rear table along with the chopping board the other day... Can't wait to get it. Also with the rear shelf, it will also fit the Gen 4 SWB, just no room for anyone sitting in the back seats when it's in.

The lightweight barrier is also great and bolts onto those same sidewings hence the rivnuts. They need to be reversed ie rivnut to the front for the barrier fit
I bought one for my 2017 Paj GLS. Awesome product, it fits perfectly. I didn't get the velcro Kaon patch though, only a sticker. Cost saving....................
Its Sunday morning and I have three Kaon products to install to the Paj - Rear Shelf, Cargo Barrier and rear door shelf (and an EVC throttle controller) will be interesting to see how the rear brackets for the shelf & cargo barrier go since they use the same mounting point on the rear grab handle....
That's not a bad way to spend a Sunday I reckon. If it's anything like the shelf it should all go together pretty easy I think. That will give you get l extra time to go hooning after you get the controller in. They're easy too.

Looking forward to trying the economy setting off road to dumb down the throttle response for rock work etc - got a 2008 Disco 3 with Terrain response which is awesome and Im hoping to mimic it. These are back in stock at Kaon. Just ordered mine. Would have got the rear door drop down table had I been able get it in the same parcel as the rear shelf to save postage...which means if you get a discount code up on the table, I might be able to utilise that. The rear grab handle (on left side which is attached just below roof) is folding up when in closed position. When you installed it back, you installed it in a wrong way, folding down when in a closed position.
Brett you bloody ripper buddy. I have been looking at the light cargo barrier for ages for the Paj. Then I saw the other day they now have the rear table and this shelf. Cake here looking for reviews and looky looky my ol mate Denmonkey has a review. Perfect. Interesting they say shelf is rated to 10KG. Their promo video on UA-cam has his son (40kg) doing pull ups on it in back of the car lol.
What up cheese. Mate I reckon they could handle more than 10 BUT the weak point I think is then using the plastic handle pieces to mount the shelf. If it was mounted direct, if say it would hold more. That said I'm finding you need to strap even light things in because it all rolls out the back when you accelerate.

@@DENMONKEY looks like they have changed the plug on the back to several mult pin. With 300mm usb leads from them . Not sure what else they have changed. Also what app do you use for the obd? Fitted one of these to our Prado 120 a couple of weeks ago, these are awesome, all of our Kaon products we have are great quality, beats the gear out of Rago fabrication or orange box fab out of the US

Great review, love it!!!! Can the nuts and bolts that attach the shelf the the bracket be reversed to have the thread of the bolt sticking out of the shelf so it doesn't catch on whatever you store in there
@@DENMONKEY cheers mate. Just thought maybe there was a reason you did it that way so It didn't hit the trim or something. Making them bolts a bit shorter would be an improvement kaon could make.
Bit of info to follow up on Brett's informative video. If, like me, you have a GLX, the spot where you fix the Kaon bracket to the roof might just be blanks i.e they won't have the fasteners like Brett demonstrates here, so you will have to find some elsewhere. I haven't yet measured the size but know the thread is an unusual metric because I had nothing at home that matched it. If I had the right fasteners here I would have cut off the bit of the blank that inserts into the present thread and drilled it out to insert the fastener through it (probably adding a washer for extra clamping) as you will need the blank to help hold the Kaon bracket in, as you will observer in Brett's vid. Anyhow, as its hailing here and I have no suitable fasteners, I am too discouraged right now and have resigned myself to going around a few wreckers to find the factory bits I need.
@@DENMONKEY Will do, but so far so good; however, there is nothing up there yet that really rolls, just soft and light things. Thinking of storing my solar blanket up there, too, but that might bring it up past it 10kg limit with the other crap there.
I'll do a vid when I get it mounted. Hopefully in the next week or 2. At this stage I'm just going to use the Anderson plug that I already have in place but I want to redo that area for wiring but that's on the list for later. Got a bit of other stuff that needs to happen first

@@DENMONKEY literally only installed it today, but its great for our purpose. 2 kids carseats restricted us for a full barrier. only negative is that i wish it was higher and wider. but is perfect for us

This is a great video as is all of the stuff you produce. One of the downsides of a Pajero has been the horn which is a toy. Are you able to recommend a replacement and if possible do an installation video? If you have already installed one in your vehicle could you maybe provide a brief demo on how you did it. It would be great if you could use the original wiring

wouldent it be better to just use a nut and a washer instead puting that grabhandle bar there? It would also be nice for you if you could find a storage thingy mabob that went full lenght of the back of the car that would slide on rails so you could pull it out and reach the items in further part of the storage, Hopefully you understand what i mean. :)
Could always extend the brackets and lower it another inch to mount the oven inside the rack. On another note, any chance your able to tell me the measurement from the floor to the rack?
Hey Andrew, Yeah could do that but since driving with it in, I don't think I would want it any lower. You can see it in your rear view but it doesn't obstruct it. Any lower and it definitely would. Give me 2 shake and I'll go measure

Hey Les, yeah mate can still see out back. I was going to hang stuff under it but that will certailny be in the way . I am still going to put the road chef under it but seems its not a straight fit like i thought. need to drill some holes. I'll stick it on the drivers side and it shouldn't pose any issues visually.

yeah Les, still happy with the idoing. Because its chinese android, it doesnt get the android updates so Im wondering if Im missing out there. as for maps. Onroad I use waze and off road I use locus maps. it also has the normal google maps on it that you can use too. the world is your oyster from that perspective. anything you can put on a tablet you can put on that.
Apparently theres a video of some kids hanging off it on their website. so ive been told. havent seen it for myself. But it says 10kgs in the manual. that would be a bloody outstanding use for it. I guess you could get a flat 10L up there
I believe the cargo barrier is designed to fit with these in place. I've removed my test seats and have the bed build in the back so can't fit a cargo barrier in mine

Not a fan of Kaon gear. Their customer service leaves a lot on the table. Typical small Aussie business. Too focussed on making the cash to spend a little on service.

The rivnuts are for the half cargo barrier for those that still have kids and need the backseat. Very good option over other brands

Fitted one of these to our Prado 120 a couple of weeks ago, these are awesome, all of our Kaon products we have are great quality, beats the gear out of Rago fabrication or orange box fab out of the US

Great review, love it!!!! Can the nuts and bolts that attach the shelf the the bracket be reversed to have the thread of the bolt sticking out of the shelf so it doesn't catch on whatever you store in there

@@DENMONKEY cheers mate. Just thought maybe there was a reason you did it that way so It didn't hit the trim or something. Making them bolts a bit shorter would be an improvement kaon could make.
Bit of info to follow up on Brett's informative video. If, like me, you have a GLX, the spot where you fix the Kaon bracket to the roof might just be blanks i.e they won't have the fasteners like Brett demonstrates here, so you will have to find some elsewhere. I haven't yet measured the size but know the thread is an unusual metric because I had nothing at home that matched it. If I had the right fasteners here I would have cut off the bit of the blank that inserts into the present thread and drilled it out to insert the fastener through it (probably adding a washer for extra clamping) as you will need the blank to help hold the Kaon bracket in, as you will observer in Brett's vid.
Anyhow, as its hailing here and I have no suitable fasteners, I am too discouraged right now and have resigned myself to going around a few wreckers to find the factory bits I need.

Welcome. The screens are from solarscreens Australia. I have a few reviews on them if you that helps. Very happy with them.
This is a great video as is all of the stuff you produce. One of the downsides of a Pajero has been the horn which is a toy. Are you able to recommend a replacement and if possible do an installation video? If you have already installed one in your vehicle could you maybe provide a brief demo on how you did it. It would be great if you could use the original wiring
like the idea of the shelf. does it sit right uu against the cargo barrier ?

IV got a mk2 pajero and would love for the door not to shut when on a slight slope.. Instead of turning round every time..

wouldent it be better to just use a nut and a washer instead puting that grabhandle bar there? It would also be nice for you if you could find a storage thingy mabob that went full lenght of the back of the car that would slide on rails so you could pull it out and reach the items in further part of the storage, Hopefully you understand what i mean. :)
Yeah I get and that would be bloody perfect. Just slide it in and lock it somehow. That would be tops.
Could always extend the brackets and lower it another inch to mount the oven inside the rack.

Hey Andrew, Yeah could do that but since driving with it in, I don't think I would want it any lower. You can see it in your rear view but it doesn't obstruct it. Any lower and it definitely would. Give me 2 shake and I'll go measure

Hey Les, yeah mate can still see out back. I was going to hang stuff under it but that will certailny be in the way . I am still going to put the road chef under it but seems its not a straight fit like i thought. need to drill some holes. I'll stick it on the drivers side and it shouldn't pose any issues visually.
If you want a full length, can you use 2, 1 in the rear and 1 in the middle section and only put the end on the front 1 ?
I don't know. They suggested getting 2 to try that .I don't know what I've done with my other grab handles though

yeah Les, still happy with the idoing. Because its chinese android, it doesnt get the android updates so Im wondering if Im missing out there. as for maps. Onroad I use waze and off road I use locus maps. it also has the normal google maps on it that you can use too. the world is your oyster from that perspective. anything you can put on a tablet you can put on that.

I believe the cargo barrier is designed to fit with these in place. I've removed my test seats and have the bed build in the back so can't fit a cargo barrier in mine

Not a fan of Kaon gear. Their customer service leaves a lot on the table. Typical small Aussie business. Too focussed on making the cash to spend a little on service.
can't say I've had that experience with them. this turned up in 2 days and they were responding to my facebook questions real quick. I didn't mention the youtube thing either at the start. so it wasnt because of that. Havent had to speak on the phone or anything but so far, theyve been good for me .
