I did not realize how many different sizes of the salon cord there was! Great information! I usually use Griffin cord for pearl knotting, macrome and kumohimo. I am glad you did this video since now if I want, there is an alternative I can use for my projects with various colors! I've been using one-time thread since it has a ton of colors. Great to know that either one will work! Great job explaining the differences and testing them out! Love these informational videos! Thank you Kelly!😁
WOW .. I had no idea there were so many different sizes of S-Lon Cord. Now I gotta ck to see what mine is. I know the 1 size I have is the "D" w/ Several Colors in a Tube, they remind me of Bobbins from my sewing lol. It's the other s-lon cord I have to ck it's 1 of the last 2 Sizes you worked w/. Thank You for Explaining s-lon cord & also for Showing us. I think you're Awesome!! 😉☺️ Take Care & Have a Great Week!! 😊 TFS!! 🥰🥰
Hi ! Thank you for teaching us about the sizes of s-Lon cord and providing a download of everything you demonstrated! Love your specs, and your overall vibe!
This was a great video for me as I have been wondering, for quite a while, about which size I should use. I have used S-Lon before and had a hard time because it splits. I have used wax also. Just need to keep trying. Thanks a lot.
Beading newbie here. Kelly this was fantastic information. Love those glasses and earrings!! Did someone get a special ribbon. (Blue?) On my monitor coming through as purple. Very helpful advice . Thank you once again.
Really helpful! Here’s another question I have; how do s-lon, c-lon, and nymo threads compare? I have used nymo and one-g. You’ve explained s-lon but c-lon is still a mystery. Will you explain and compare?🌸
I’m realizing this is not the thread I need to string 8 mm gemstones. I’m looking for a thread that is strong but hangs like silk. I really dislike working with beading wire. Any suggestions? Thank you!
@ No. I’ve been knotting gemstone and pearls with Griffin silk but switched to the nylon version with the same built in needle. Same drape and it holds up well. I’d like to use this in size 6 or 8 (or even a double threaded 3 or 4) or the heavier C-Lon or S-Lon for straight beading without knotting, but I’ve not seen any info on this. Everyone seems to like the beading wire. I’d of course use the bead tips or French wire to finish. Just trying to find someone who has tried it. I haven’t even found ant manufacturers info on line. Weird, huh.
Thank you Kelly. This helps a lot with understanding the sizing of "Tex" S-lon.😊
Thank you for cleaning that up. I never know what size to buy. Have a great day Kelly!

Darn autocorrect! I meant S-Lon corn and One-G

This was a wonderful video. I haven’t done beadwork in years. What would be a good project to jump into ? I love seed beads 😃

S-Lon and C-Lon are exactly the same, just different distributors
I believe that b-lon is in that category too.

Actually the thicker S-Lon cord would work great for 8mm Gemstone Beads. Are you possibly thinking of Sinew?
