Thank you Kelly! I was just chatting with a beading friend yesterday, inquiring about the difference in these two beads. I really appreciated your side-by-side comparison!
Regarding the hole size difference, keep in mind that the "etched" beads are subjected to something like an acid bath or something, but anyway, I noticed that a lot of these beads do have larger holes due to the treatment to achieve that look. But I must say, the hole size in the new bead does look a bit smaller even than the violet colored Storm Duo. Anyway, thank you for going over this, Kelly, appreciate it! 👍
Good evening Miss Kelly. I have made several projects with the storm duos and really enjoyed working with them. I’m not impressed with the looks of the wave beads but I will have to try them to to see what my final opinion will be
Hi Kelly! I love your "report" about the differences in the bead. Since Potomac Beads brought out there storm duos, that's all I've been using. I am not impressed with the wave bead since it isn't flat. Besides the coatings on the bead, most of them and the Potomax metal bead are consistent in size like a Mobility seed bead. I see the benefits of the wave bead If you wanted a more rounded look to your project. What really drives me nuts about using the storm duo is getting two of them to lay consistent on some projects. I haven't used the Storm Duo in awhile, but I do have a design in the works. Personally, I will stick with the storm duo, but I appreciate your video and information on the differences. Thank you Kelly because I didn't know what the wave bead was! I always love and appreciate your weekly videos!😁😍❤
I fell in love with the storm duo when they first came out. I can't afford to buy all the new beads everyone comes out with so i'm going to stay with what I already have.
i saw wave and i disliked at the first look, maybe in a project i will be more confident, and thanks to your video, now i know more on both, tks a lot Kelly😘
This comparison is very useful, thanks for doing this. It looks like the wave beads have a right side and a wrong side, um I know they have a top and a bottom but it looks like you’d have to pick them up aligned side by side. Does that make any sense? One thing to think about with the storm duos being so much larger is you would get fewer beads per gram. I do have to express some frustration with manufacturers inconsistencies in labeling. (Not just bead manufacturers!). If a bead is closer to 8mm wouldn’t it be better to label it an an 8mm bead than a 7mm? (Law of averages and all that jazz.) Or shoot, just go for the gold and call it an 7.75mm bead! Off topic but, speaking of dragon thread will you be getting more in stock soon? Somebody snatched a spool of green .06 out of my cart the other day. 🤔😄😉

Thank you for reviewing these beads. It helps a beginner header. Thanks again!
Very informative. Thank you Kelly. It will be interesting to see which bead is easier to work with. Thank you again ❤

I meant Miyuki bead! Sorry!
Thx Kelly for this comparison. Also, I was wondering if you know when you will be getting the O-Bead Crystal Labrador back in stock?

To me the wave beads look more like a natural bead shape wise.
