one of my favorite movies of all time... FYI Streets of Fire was actually supposed to be a 3 Part Trilogy (The Adventures of Tom Cody) sadly Streets of Fire was a box office flop and because of that the other 2 movies weren't made. Although there was a unofficial sequel called "Road to Hell" made in 2008.
It's amazing how many films there are that flopped at the time of their release but today are beloved for the treasures they are. This being one of them.
this is the best edited streets of fire music video on youtube. It's lovely how every shit is wordless. Make the movie even better and more picturesque.
"Streets of Fire" is one of my all time favorite films and soundtracks. I totally identified with Tom Cody's smarter cooler version of the unappreciated military veteran Rambo-Taxi Driver type character in this film. It came out the same year I reenlisted in the Army.
This was one of the best tribute videos made for this movie. Wordless except for Ellen Aim, just looks and longings and a wordless kiss at the end. Perfect.
This was one of the best Sound Tracks, Marilyn Martin with Stevie Nicks. Although Stevie wasn't mentioned, this song was written by both Buckingham and Nicks before they joined Fleetwood Mac
That was Lee Ving from the punk band FEAR sitting at the bar with a young Willem Dafoe at 2:11. He was casted in a few movies back then in the early '80's. FEAR tore up SNL when they performed live back in the late 70's.
It remains astonishing how much impact this movie quietly had over the years. For a supposed flop it inspired and informed dozens of other better known projects. From Tarantino to Batman, both Burton’s and the Animated series. Anime shows such as Bubblegum Crisis to the Big O all borrow from its use of visuals, music or its retro modern fantasy setting.
Its a shame that her career didnt live past the 80's much. An incredible voice that really should have gone on much longer. I heard she works in a real estate office now.
I absolutely love this song. Thank you so much for posting it. I realize there’s two versions. Stevie Nicks Marilyn Martin. I like this one, it reminds me of somebody very special that is no longer here. I love you Billy, forever and always!!
There was supposed to be two more movies. Meat loaf features in back up vocals in this soundtrack. The bat out of hell album was written as the soundtrack for the next movie. Sadly popularity for this movie was not as expected and the others were canned.
Not too many know Marilyn Martin is the background extraordinaire voice in the song by Tom Petty - Don't come around here no more. Stevie always gets credit as the background singer but it was Marilyn, never getting the props she deserved. That song was written when Stevie Nicks told Joe Walsh, "Don't come around here no more Joe!" an now you know he rest of the story... This is Paul Harvey .... Good Day!
Martha Kent is kidnapped by the Green Goblin but is rescued by Dante Montana and a team including Dark Helmet, Buttercup of the Powerpuff Girls, and eventually Meteor Man.
Well this is not the version on the original movie and credit on the music sound score. The very best version of this song and is what you hear in the movie is by Laurie Sargent and her band face to face. Unfortunately is is not available due to legal issues
Pretty sure this is the version. Will have to drag out my copy of the movie lol Actually like her/this version better than Nicks original. Which was a surprise and doesn't happen very often. "She recorded the Nicks song "Sorcerer" (on which Nicks features on backing vocals) for the Jim Steinman soundtrack of the 1984 film Streets of Fire." - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marilyn_Martin Edit & Correction : I stand corrected! Never knew this fact about the songs! Thx for the clarification! "Jimmy Iovine produced five of the songs for the film and the soundtrack album.[5] For Ellen Aim's singing voice, he combined the voices of Laurie Sargent and Holly Sherwood, billing them as "Fire Incorporated." The Attackers were the real-life (Face to Face) bandmates of Sargent, who provided the lead vocals on Ellen Aim's songs "Nowhere Fast", "Never Be You" and "Sorcerer", and supporting vocals on "Tonight Is What It Means to Be Young."[5] The version of "Sorcerer," written and composed by Stevie Nicks, that was featured on the actual soundtrack album was performed by Marilyn Martin. The version of "Never Be You" that was featured on the soundtrack album was performed by Maria McKee."
I recently saw the movie again and heard the movie version - noticed the difference. It's why I'm here - trying to track down the movie version. Thanks for the information on that version. What I hear in the movie version is a bit of country music. Don't know what else to term it.
I'm trying to find the version that Diane Lane sings in the movie not the same music here same song different music I think it's by a band called Fire Inc I'm not sure.
its a great song to break the ice between boy and girl.Ask her out of what motion picture the song is,and tell her the story. Her Bra is away faster as you´re watch it!!!
still listening in 2024
I saw this movie at a child at home in my vhs, and I love all of it, characthers, music, plot, Michael Paré,... Everything!! ❤
This lady has an incredible voice. Still love this movie after all these years.
Diane Lane DID NOT sing those songs. She just mouth the words.
I think the lady that is really singing is Marilyn Martin or Marilyn Smith. It is amazing to me that Marilyn did not make it big with her voice.
Peggy Sinclair I agree.
Peggy Sinclair, the star-makers in the industry make all those decisions, with very few exceptions. If they don't do it, nothing happens.
Too bad the star makers don't listen to the people. It would be frustrating to have this kind of talent and have it showcased by someone else.
Back when films were a result of passionate work!
One of my favorite Stevie Nicks compositions...Marilyn did a great version. Got to see Marilyn singing backup for Stevie again just a few months ago.
Great song - fantastic video - timeless cult movie!
This is such an iconic film, with Stevie Nicks in back to support!
Yes.

Peter Peters WHAAAAAAAAAT! I had no idea!!!! Favorite movie of all time as well! Good taste
Too bad that Streets of fire flopped. It's very good movie.
It's amazing how many films there are that flopped at the time of their release but today are beloved for the treasures they are. This being one of them.
Flopped due to bad promotion, i was just watching the extras. The studio head changed just before the film was due to come out.
It was also up against Ghostbusters
Great song and video. Beautiful.
I was 13. Thought it the coolest movie and soundtrack. Still hot af.
That's the best montage of this film I've seen. Thank you!
Fantastic song. Adore this song. ❤️
I don't understand people who push dislike button! If you don t like..who gives a shit! Gooo away!

Temazoooooo.
Damn, Diane Lane was such a babe... In 1984 I wasn´t even in proyect, lol but I´d have loved being 27 in that year
@@navyservant52njo92 Diane Lane plays Ellen Aim in The streets of fire.
@@navyservant52njo92 Hate 2 burst the bubble, it was Diane Lane, dumbass!!!!!
A BIG THANK YOU for making it in HD Format. Awesome job. I subscribed you.
Uncredited is Stevie Nicks doing backgrounds. She also recorded it for the Garbo EP
"Sorcerer" is also on Stevie Nicks' 2000 album, Trouble In Shangri-La
That was 2001

They don’t make great movies like this anymore! A bygone era!
Omooo esse filme é a trilha sonora maravilhosa! Wow😍🎥🎬🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵👏👏👏👏👏
Very under rated song of the 1980's.
2019?
And always.
Oh yeah.
Great movie
"Well i need you badly" Uwe Grimm Memories❤
The song is sung so perfectly. She captures the witchy, wild essence of Stevie Nicks

Couldn't agree more. One of my all-time favourites!
awesome. marilyn is the bomb
They don't make us like that anymore, immortalized.

Agree on this version being better. I like Stevie Nicks, but Marilyn sings it better. Her voice is better suited for it. Sorry for your loss.
big thank’s

Great tune.
After listening to this and the Stevie Nicks version. I prefer this one.
Awesome movie great Tunes

I don't think so. Bat Out Of Hell was written in the '70s.
amazing
This is a surprisingly overlooked ballad.....
Awesome!!!!
Michael Paré most beautiful artist ever♥️

For fuck's sake I miss this movie and the music from it. Damn. There are two verisons of "Sorcerer" from the movie versus the video.
I was 18 when this movie was released. ASLEEP so ASLEEP

I'm trying to find the version that Diane Lane sings in the movie not the same music here same song different music I think it's by a band called Fire Inc I'm not sure.
Walter Hill is great.
The original singer in the movie was the best. They always take the best away. Hate that.
Weird seeing Willem Dafoe looking like he was auditioning for The Outsiders.
Stevie Nicks!
