Yeah I agree. Plus I don't think Boba wants that from him. He seemed pretty clear that Black K was free to do as he wished as long as he doesn't attack him again.
It's apparently a very ingrained practice, although yes, it is ultimately a choice. In Knights of the Old republic there is another Wookie exile who has a rater twisted idea about life debts though, he considered it a form of slavery and being a big messed up in the head his solution was to kill both slaves (including his family, to "free" them) and slavers alike. If anyone helped him to where his culture would expect him to owe them a life debt he would hunt down and kill them instead as he considered it a form of slavery and would not consider the bond dissolved by anything short of death, even if the individual tried to make it clear he owed them nothing.
Also there is a deleted scene from The Force Awakens where Chewie rips that big guy that gives people credit for scrap on Jakku's arm off, the one played by Simon Pegg.
@@goldengamer1379 the only reason he doesn't have a life debt is he was spared not saved there's a hugh difference in these too acts. Nope this Wookie doesn’t subscribe to any of the Wookies cultural beliefs. It’s canon that he is an out cast of Wookie culture. It’s highly unlikely he is doing it for a life debt. He’s doing it because he respects Boba as a Bounty hunter and knows when Boba is fully geared up he can go toe to toe with him. That’s why he tried to get him while he was healing in the Bacta. But once they were out side and Boba was suited up. As as soon as Boba said no hard feelings he ran to the nearest pub apparently. Black K is gonna do some damage here. You don’t create a Wookie like this and then just throw him into a sarlac pit and be done with him.
It shouldn't even be a custom, life debt is the laziest form of writing I ever heard, literally serves no purpose but to remind us of f****** jar jar Binks and their stupid writing of episode 1
Limbs lost in Star Wars movies (the first 6) Phantom Menace: Darth Maul gets cut long way like ma sandwich AOTC: Obi-wan snipped that bounty hunters hand like a circumcision, Anakin loses his forearm, Jango loses his head ROTS: Mace Window sheds his hand, Anakin loses his forearm and leg (homie can't win) A New Hope: the Aqualish Ponda Boba loses his arm to Obi Wan Empire: the Wampa becomes an amputee, the spirit of the Wampa's arm haunts Luke and curses him with losing his hand to his pops. ROTJ: Luke pranks his dad by cutting off his hand... for the 3rd time (really just can't catch a break)
I JUST thought of something even more dangerous then extremely strong, very morally questionable walking carpets with space crossbows that pack enough punch to shoot down small enemy fighters... Maybe take semi sentient creatures like Krayte Dragon or Rancors and arm them with heavy repeating Gattling an other cannon then just sick them on your enemies instead of worrying about morally dubious individuals that'd make it look like you was such a creature's victim at will when you accidentally or deliberately find you have to anger them
I LOVED the ending dismemberment fest!!! 😍🤩🥳🤣🤣🤣 I noticed you went in the order of the original movies, but you forgot the epic Mace Windu baseball swing that lead to Jango losing his domepiece!!! Hahaha
I thought he probably did, but seeing him run, I was not sure. Probbaly for plot reasons, he will, based on what i remember from the books, honestly don't know. Legends content is a blur f it's cannon or nor, so I'd guess it's up to Felony should the plot benefit from it.
Once again, you prove to the world that you hold a PhD in all things Star Wars. Your knowledge and background research is the best I’ve ever seen. I learn so much from your videos. I never heard of this Wookie before, and until this video I thought he was a new character introduced just for this BOBF series. But nope, he’s been out there all along, and you pulled his background into the story in a clear, easy to understand manner. And for that, I thank you once again! Great content as always.
What if Grievous uploaded his consciousness before he died and returns like Ultron? This chef was just his latest incarnation and a chance to live a new life for him possibly. Also, saying “THE” Black Krrsantan was cracking me up!
I liked seeing a wookie rip an arm off. After episode three I figured Disney said no brutality. Let's be real that knuckle duster wookie punch wouldve killed boba or at least been a knock out blow.
A wookie life debt to a human basically means that wookie is adopting the human as its pet since the wookie will outlive the human by hundreds of years.
I think BK and Boba stand to have a good working relationship, they have worked together in the past. Boba knows the business and BK would thrive in a war set up so yeah, get paid to take on the pikes would suit his character down to the ground.
Hey Alan I am subscribed and have all notifications turned on so do you think you could do a video on the backstory of the galactic Star cruiser hotel? P.s keep up the great work
Well, I guess I have to "hand" it to you. You've "disarmed" me with your knowledge of Star Wars. I will dismember, ah hem, I mean remember it for a long time. Great video. Thanks.
A life debt would be because of extreme circumstances, not just 'your gang beat me in a 8 on 1 fight' or 'You didn't kill me when you could have'. Otherwise there would be a lot of unscrupulous people trying to get themselves permanent wookie body guards. You would have to aid the wookie so much that they feel "hey, I'm going to help this person for the rest of their life", and probably feel some affection for them to put themselves in a life debt. Plus Black Krrsantan doesn't seem to follow wookie traditions much, since he got kicked out.
Just want to say thank you for removing the video you posted early this morning with the title and thumbnail both spoiling today's episode. I know a lot goes into making videos, but we're all here to have fun and enjoy the Star Wars universe, and experiencing episode surprises as we're watching it and not by channel upload notification's giving it away is a very important aspect of that fun.
Im glad to see that Grevus finally turned his life around and pursued a life of cooking
This BIT had me in stitches
@Iliveintherealworld Nanomachines, son
Not a life debt, but he definitely owes him a favour, I don't think he practices wookie customs.
Yeah I agree. Plus I don't think Boba wants that from him. He seemed pretty clear that Black K was free to do as he wished as long as he doesn't attack him again.
idk about that, he practices the wookie custom of yanking off arms and fighting any trandoshan he sees
He actually was excluded from Wookie society.
@@theexchipmunk okay...he is still a wookie tho

I’m glad we got to see a Wookiee rip off an arm! I don’t think we’ve seen that in live action before.
We have, in Solo, Chewie ripped of a Pyke guard's arms... BOTH of them

Based on how BK acted and was described in the comics, he doesn't really care about that stuff. He might see it as a "I owe you one"
Star wars IS about limb detachments.. a much missed ingredient of the sequels
The true reason they sucked
He missed Jango's head detachment
Drinking game: take a drink everytime Alan says "The Black Krrsantan".
Cringe AF
That bit at the end with limb detachments made me remember the good old days of Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy. Nice arm you got there... lol

The dismemberment edit was fun lol, I think you should release that section as its own vid
"Twiddle lard ass and twiddle ballsack"
Life Debts are not compelled, though. It is a voluntary institution. Sure, honor comes to play, but that still is not compulsion.
That last bit was as relaxing as it was sassy
Been waiting 45 years to see a Wookiee rip a person’s arm out its socket as Ben Kenobi hinted they’d been known to do in the original Star Wars.
Maybe you should consider releasing videos like this one a before the next episode of BoBF drops.
