- Watch: Turbulence on European Flight Throws Man into Overhead Bin | Vantage with Palki Sharma
Are you taking a flight soon? Well then, you might have to brace for a bumpy ride. At least 30 people were injured after a Uruguay-bound Air Europa flight faced strong turbulence, with one of the passengers being hurled up into an overhead compartment. Climate change is turbocharging turbulence across the globe, causing flights to drop and leading to injuries onboard. Which are the most turbulent flight routes? What can you do to stay safe onboard? Can airplanes handle heavy turbulence? Palki Sharma tells you.

Flying today, keep your seat belt on for the entire flight.
Always. Even in cars. Lifesaver.
My grandfather was an American Airlines pilot for over 30 years and my dad was a pilot. Their advice was always to keep your seatbelt on when you're in your seat in case turbulence hits.
My son is a fighter pilot..
Oh wow! I thought I was the only, I only remove seat belt when going to the bathroom, and when the I have reached my destination and the plane has stoppe; other than that I butle up.

To those idiots who don't fasten the seat belts. Don't release the buckle no matter what, just keep it loosed a little bit n relax in the mid air.
We missed you Palki, thanks you're back
As if nothing of that sort happens in India. This idiot Phalki is not reporting 100+ people death at stampede today in India
Time to go back in time. Flying is not leisure! Fasten your seat belts. People must reconnect with their situational awareness. You are in a "Vessel" that is going at speeds that most humans could not imagine. What I mean by that is most humans are "dead".We are the remnants and because we are here doesn't mean we are right.
@DanSmith-qx4bl what kind of horseshit are you vomiting??
Finally Palk is back since she left I couldn't watch the news here. 👏👏👏 Welcome back.
Bro was flying in air only to be thrown into air 😂😂😂😂
sad but🤣🤣🤣
...and threw up.
When you pay peanuts.. u get turbulence ..
welcome back Palki, we miss you
How the hell did the men end up on the top. Did he forgot the seat belt
viral video faker
I'm a cabin crew and I say this in all seriousness..keep those damn seatbelts on even if the seatbelt signs are off you're never 100% safe..unanticipated turbulence is as real and dangerous as it gets. Those seatbelts are there for a reason..as the saying goes every rule in aviation is written in blood. The crew is not playing around when they ask you to be seated and keep the seatbelts fastened.
Maam its CLEAR AIR TURBULENCE.
That’s why I have stopped taking planes and only take Eurostar trains to visit nearby other European countries, haven’t left the country since 2005 😂😂😂😂
use private cars
I haven't left the country since I was born, my age is 27
@@user-kb5lf6bz6msame lol
It feels like the modern aircraft can’t handle severe turbulence.
We need padded interiors on planes. Turbulence is no longer the annoyance it once was.
I leave my seatbelt on for the entire flight. You should not have to be told do so whether the seatbelt light is on or not.
Thanks!. 💐❤🇪🇸
Even air is fed up of humans
wow her speech is so perfect
Explanation is crystal clear. Thank you.
True. Keep the seat belt intact when advised during the flight.
That why when the attendant told to wear seat belt you have to listen and follow...or else that will happen to you..
Glad you are back ,been trying to watch news without you but am happy you are back, welcome
Well said Palki
Thank you Plaki your advice can save life!!
Madam, one correction. It is called clear air turbulence not clean air turbulence. Thanks.
Clear air turbulence!
Yes, Palki, your advice is right on, and used a safety steel helmet too, for falling luggage s.
good reporting...
Yet , we feel so restless wearing a seatbelt through out the flight . Looks as if the airhostess requests for blood , when requesting for wearing seatbelt
Imagine when Flight Attendants tell passengers to be seated due to turbulence and they refuse or ignore their instructions. Have you noticed passengers are the first to get out of their seats after takeoff before the Flight Attendants? Have you noticed some passengers don't even wear their seatbelts? "So sorry sir you are injured. You didn't pay attention to my direction "
I flew last week and a passenger got out of his seat during taxi. A flight attendant had to literally shout at him from her own seat to be seated. Seriously, there is so much ignorance.
I keep the seatbelt on whenever i have travelled by air, no matter what. Its a bit uncomfortable, feels a bit trapped but its better to feel that way rather than getting injured by the turbulence.
Even in car, the moment i get in, 1st thing seatbelt on before doing anything else.
Please be safe 🙏
You don't have to tighten the seatbelt, keep it a little loose and you won''t feel uncomfortable. Thank me later.
My experience, as part of a crew carrying a B737-200 (ferry flight 30 years ago) from Ireland to Perú. Well, crossing the Bermuda triangle, BY CLEAR SKY AND NOTHING UNCOMMON ON THE RADAR SCREEN, we were suddendly hit by super strong turbulences and the only persones which remained in their sits were the Pilot and copilot, everybody else flying across the cabin, totally out of control.
Maybe similar Phenomena is being propagated around due to this global clima unstability.
Boeing needs to ground its fleets. They’re in breach of maintenance protocols, parts and upgrades. There’s no climate change only geoengineering. STOP geoengineering!
Well said so True
Do you have any proof of this mass "geoengineering" campaign?
@@DevoteeCT it’s all o we the internet, has been for years, your just not looking. It’s been admitted recently on MSM.
I have been travelling for a long time. Once on a flight from Amsterdam to Mumbai in Monsoon , before landing we had a huge fall in the clouds around Mumbai , dont know how many feet , but I could feel my upper body was in air and the plane was few centimeters below me . Scary experience
I would say travel only when it is necessary. No point having long term physical damage because you want to take frequent holidays!
what on earth is this. this is scary .
Airlines companies are acting like criminals. Profits no matter what.
Fly hight to save money.
I adore her earrings!! Please add links! 😢 Even if they are unaffordable
Yes my favorite lady news reporter is back ❤ and anyway i am extremely hated the turbulence since as a kid its never a joy ride to me i tried to over come fear but it is what it is i have to get used to it😔
I have experienced Air turbulence...One of the crew members got injured badly....
Another thing is Airlines company should recruit fighter pilots for commercial flights after they retire from the service. Fighter pilots have good experience about how to tackle turbulences with less damage to aircraft.
Sorry fighter planes don't fly at 40,000 feet.
@@christopherlobo8082 But they can be trained for that,. I mean they can be better handling turbulences if they are trained flying at 40000 ft with their experience of handling turbulent atmosphere.
Buckle up for the entire journey
All of a sudden now so many incidents? Never before even reported on. Strange how certain topics go in proud spates of occurrence and reporting. Seems almost contrived
Planes should go into space to prevent this.
Just stop boarding airplanes
& I congratulate Firstpost for 5M
The internal cabin can and should be more robust.
Yes, flying has SLIGHTLY more dangerous due to climate change because of its impact of the jetstreams turbulence, its well understood in the aviation industry, these incidents will become more common place.
This is why you MUST keep your seat belt on at all times. And potentially isle carts will need to be redesigned to somehow prevent them from lifting off the floor during these incidents.
It's called CLEAR AIR TURBULENT (CAT)
For sure the plane was boeing. And you are avoiding to name the plane type.
Woww plane type? But no one dares to talk about the climatic change that causes turbulence
@@divyadasari2279 CC may be the cause of this turbulence but I'm sure planes are made to resist such turbulences and get away with out significant damage. But recently Boeing showed its lesser resilience to challenges.
Although Boeing has cut corners at the cost of lives recently, planes being hit by turbulence has nothing to do with which company makes the aircraft. Two flights that experienced severe turbulence last year were both Airbus 330s.
In the future airlines will give the option of 5-point seat-belts to their passengers. And maybe helmets as well.
Palki, not gonna report the incident in Sg? As expected.
This is not a "European" flight. Turbulence happened during an intercontinental flight.
1:08 Palkhi, get new pair of contacts. You can't even read from the script now a days.
Very scary! I wonders what kind of Airbus and who made it?
The worse thing is to be on the throne when the plane hits turbulence 😮😮
I wonder if they will decommission(?) the plane after such accidents
Technology, radar as you said be develop and put on all planes.
Bro was having double flight.😅
In seat, belts on. Keep a bit of slack if ur so paranoid to remove . Why is that so uncomfortable?
Thanks!
Her continues stammering is so annoying, she calls people in airplane patients lol
I hate flights..... Road always for me.....
What is this new trend? Regularly seeing this type of news.
you can thank global warming!!
i start to think this is moatly a Dreamliner problem. were not all latest flights with problems on this model?
This is like saying, Ford Fiesta is a dangerous car to drive on UK roads because most accidents in the UK involved one of those. And no, the Singapore Airlines flight was a B777, a Lufthansa flight from Austin to Frankfurt, and a Hawaiian Airlines flight from Honolulu to Sydney both of which encountered severe turbulence last year were A330s. The Air Europa and the Qatar Airlines flights were Dreamliners though.
It is so scary
I mostly avoid flying if I can
Ma’am u r sooperb
It is because the companies are flying too high to save fuel.
They should not go higher than 30000-32000 ft high.
Isn't there turbulence at or below 30000 ft?
Why it's happening on Boeing aircraft most of the time?
When an aircraft passes through a stream of air of an other aircraft it causes turbulence.Wind shears, air pockets and pilots and ATC miscommunication r other reasons also.
Why not mention that all of them are boeing?
Unless going to restroom.. sit fastened
If a passenger jet flies too high, it reaches a point called 'Coffin Corner'. This is the point at which the aircraft's low speed stall and high-speed buffet meet and the plane can no longer maintain its altitude which forces it to descend.
How about small kids? Seat belts are so loose for them!
What if the pilots in get hurt?
In that case, who will handle the plane?
2025 so far is the year of "Turbulence" thats becoming a norm.🤔
Its called "clear" air turbulence, not clean
Now safety belt, along with helmett and protective suits, when flying.
Passengers with impatience 😂
and? That's why you're supposed to keep your belt on during the flight and not walk around the cabin unless you're going to the bathroom yeah it's a long flight it's uncomfortable and that's life… Take a ship it'll take 3 to 4 weeks
were the injured passengers wearing seat belts ? The essence of your report must be to tell passengers that if they wear there seat belts they are safe..Air turbulence is part of any air journey..
Severe Turbulence is avoidable. Pilots know how to avoid Thunderstorm areas. It is part of their training. More professional and disciplined approach while avoiding thunderstorm areas by at least 20 Kms laterally is the key. trying to overfly a thunderstorm is dangerous. Avoid it laterally. Passengers are helpless. Only the Captain knows how to avoid such situations.
You din't listen to what she said. Not regular turbulence caused by clouds n thrunderstorms. But clean air turbulence.
Turbulence due CAT is a different phenomenon . Such severity and damage is unlikely due to CAT. If you are connected with aviation, this will be easier to figure out that such heavy damage is generally associated with convective vertical development clouds, line squalls and thunderstorm activity. Which a well trained set of crew can avoid.
This is why i always keep my seat belts on no matter what
omg! turbulence is really a scary experience. you'll have your life flash before your eyes, everytime when i board i pray not to have the one.
It's always best to wear the seat belt till the flight lands
Don't travel during bad weather.
Walk
Why only Boeings are getting involved and experiencing such turbulence ??
The best question is "Why"....Can the scientist make a good explanation on this?is it really because of climate change or rather there is something happening on the atmosphere".. is the earth aside from loosing its atmosphere/oxygen/air or is it rally the "beginning of the end......
I love your coverage on all topics.
However,
I believe it's called
clear air turbulence
CAT.
She already covered that. Watch the video.
Its very scary
Must be a Boeing aircraft
Nice to 👀you palki
I hate flying! 😓
Its pathetic & perilous
How about made in India airplanes? Oops, there is not.
Ban all the Boeing to fly in the sky .
We are all going to have to get used to living in a more dangerous world..
Passengers who were then patients 😂😂
Palki, CAT is Clear Air Turbulence!
Keep your seat belt on
And that's why i wear seat belts all the time, right till i be on the ground.
