omg. i have the 33 since this summer and was so frustrated i couldn't find the hose exit. wanted to check the 22 for lighter days and found your review, i would have never found that hose exit if i didn't see this comment, thanks a ton!
Great video and comparison. I wish MR would give all their bags that fluro option as its a lso a safety feature if someone got lost trekking for example.
I agree that they make the Scree a little less versatile but since they have a healthy catalog of outdoor bags I'm fine with this one being specialized.
Yes, with the Scree 33-L redesign it is no longer the wonderful general purpose Daypack it once was, with capacity to support a minimalist overnight camp. Not sure the thinking on that, unless they were just lacking for something better for the Alpine climbing community, and thought the new Bridger 35 might be another option for a larger capacity Daypack...or maybe the RADIX 31.
I have yet to understand how anyone finds a Mystery Ranch bag appealing? It's gotta be the carryology effect. In a world with so many options, I don't understand why you would spend your money on those.
I thought the same until used the tri zip system on my scree 32 on snowy windy summit. Was very easy to access what I needed quickly. But yeah I agree that the design is not for everyone.
I own five Mystery Ranch backpacks for different needs...they are the finest backpacks I've owned - superior load-bearing comfort, I like the Y-shaped zipper access system, high quality control and durability, backed by a stellar Warranty and US based Repair Center. I've been extremely pleased with every one I have. Very glad I purchased all of them when I did before YETI bought the company.
FOUND!!! Hydration hose exit slits are on both SCREE models. They're on the sides along the back. Very tight slits. Nicely done and well hidden!

10:33 I have the 33L. The hydration hose port is a small slit right below the lid zipper along the vertical seam
OH SNAP!! There the are! Thank you! Found them on both now.

Totally agree
Looks cool but the alpine factor is kind of sad, not so useful for regular hiking.

I have the 32. Harness system is great.

Random question JB - what are you using attach a velcro loop backing to your daisy chains? Saw it on your Unicorn 2.0.

Personal choice for sure. Some brands you either love or don’t
