@@kennyljs yes, sadly

ichang san, my wife is a japanese and i live in Musashi-Urawa , Saitama. As you know, living cost in Japan especially in Tokyo/saitama is pretty high, and i know as a malaysian , eating restaurant in Japan is very expensive even for japanese. I told to my wife , malaysia is everything cheap and when she came to Malaysia for the first time , she was super-shocked , with japanese yen which its 3 times higher than malaysian ringgit, she can buy everything she want during her stay in Malaysia. lol . With Yen , for japanese, I think RM34 with various meal with 2 people is very cheap. I still remember, i was eating Tom Yam, Otak-otak, nasi ayam, roti jala along with my wife and my brother-in-law at malaysian restaurant at Ikekuburo , it costs me 12,000 yen(RM460-480). I was shocked cause its too expensive, if in malaysia, nearly 20 people can eat with 12,000 yen..That is why, Malaysia is a number 1 foreigner country where japanese people want to relocate . Soon we want to move to malaysia as soon as possible. BTW, enjoy your stay.
Ikebukuro reminds me of the ichiran ramen there.

Wanna stay better stay outside KL like Puchong, Subang, Shah Alam or PJ make sure it’s not far from LRT or MRT station also there’s tons restaurant and way cheaper prices.
PJ is good. Mont Kiara has the biggest Japanese expatriate community, there're MRT buses plying the neighbourhood
@@whygothic Mont Kiara is technically a KL address although it up the hills above Damansara. But yes, Mont Kiara is the best location to stay as many Japanese and other expats plus good quality restaurants. Bangsar is a another good place to stay. But I would think condo living in Bangar South is quite good.
Otherwise, there’s Subang Jaya. We have everything too and it’s rather self-sufficient within the area. And we have a few notable shopping places. Like Sunway Pyramid. And due to quite a number student population in the area, we have notable spots where you may find a balance of affordable food and “cafes” around. And a street almost known for having different styles of Bak Kut Teh and another notorious for bubble tea “culture”. Well, just a gist of what Subang Jaya has to offer along.

Are you staying at The Robertson? Based on what I see online, rent per month over there is around 2.6-3.2k per month for a fully furnished unit, which is considered expensive for a middle class malaysian. You can easily rent at around 1.5-1.8k for a fully furnished unit at areas outside KL like Puchong, Kepong, PJ, Sentul, Shah Alam, Cyberjaya etc. However there are pros and cons for each area (public transportation might be a concern). I suggest you rent first (maybe a week or so) and test out each area before deciding which area to settle down in.
I would strongly recommend USJ/Subang, Bangsar South or Sri Hartamas/Mont Kiara area.
There're lots of condominiums located near LRT and MRT stations. Try renting those units.. very convenient.

Actually my boss(expat), rent at Somerset (behind Renaissance Hotel) also around that price RM1.5k monthly. Fully furnished, just 1.2km from KLCC.
Better rent Gombak or East KL area. Easy access to durians in gombak or pahang. Hehe. And lots of food options especially malay. Near to LRT too.
