I love how that lady turn his head twice to check out ichang durian bag🤣 I would do the same
kid be like "did that lady just put money into a durian???"
His?
She was like "nanii?! durian baguto"
One tips for you tourist: "Famous, doesn't means it is the best". It is just the crowd effect, there are of course, better laksa in many places.
I believed it's called as 'tourist trap'...
Folow the crowd
Theory right.
But these laksa was good too
as a local penangite. this laksa still on of my favourite. it is not tourist trap....
As a Penangite borned in Air Itam... This is NOT a tourist trap, maybe only to the ignorant.
at 7:38 that guy is yelling "rojak" which is like a fruit salad with squid and shrimp paste. the penang version is quite popular.
Most states have their own version of "laksa". Their names are similar but it can be very different. Penang has great laksa but the laksa from other states can be nice too!
Other status laksa is Penang curry me OK 🤣🤣🤣,Penang HV Penang laksa ,Siam laksa ,NYonya laksa 😋😋😋
Laksa sarawak ❤️ also you can try 😁😁😁
@@njnj8944 i think they already try it in sabah...well that weird.but i did believe they have it there.
But rated highest internationaly is always sarawak laksa. There is a channel says collobrated with air asia to tapao all laksa from across malaysia. I m sorry to say. Sarawak laksa is the best
Every state in Malaysia have their own singature Laksa. Laksa kedah, Laksam Kelantan, Laksa Terengganu, Laksa Sarawak and not forgetting the famous Laksa Johor too! Laksa not only in Penang.
You can come to Kuching, Sarawak and try the Laksa here along with other local food as well :D
I love laksa Sarawak so much...!!
@@shafikahshafie7680 ya....i've tried it too....it tastes so heavenly yummy. I love it..laksa sarawak the best 💖
And kolok mee. We have a lot to offer here
As the late Anthony Bourdain once said about Sarawak laksa - food for the gods.
that is kari mee
LoL 😂 power of the Hand 🖐 only in Malaysia
DailyDoodle dkt arab sane jgn harab.... laju je
i lost that power when i go oversea
ZA HANDO
exactly..haha
As a Penang person, this stall serves the most delicious Asam Laksa in the whole of Malaysia IMO.
I absolutely love your videos. I can't get enough of them.
There are tons of laksa here in malaysia. On the northern region got laksa penang (like in this vid), and kedah laksa. Southern got laksa johor, kari laksa. East coast have laksam. EAST MALAYSIA (borneo) got laksa sarawak. Stay here IChang! There are plenty of laksa you guys havent tried 🤩♥️
I really like to watch this couple going around Malaysia to try new food and culture..their effort are really something..keep it up
Jimmy such a caring, loving hubby! : )
The man was yelling "rojak, rojak, rojak". Rojak is a mixed fruits and cucumber and tofu dish with shrimp paste.
you should try the rojak and indian rojak and cendol ! super nice
Hahaha! Rojak! Nani?
yelling rojak but looking at her body wtf old man
Nani?!
Ichang always looks elegant in that dress..that's an inspiration for slight wardrobe additions...
Not always open or sometimes really sold out~
Happy to see you guys able to try it!
I didn't know we could sit in the market waiting for laksa! Thank you ichang!
The crossing road editing part was INTENSE! Jimmy’s level in editing has increased! Lol!
Glad u enjoy Asam Laksa... there are those that find the smell too pungent & taste to sour
That durian bag is so adorable
This channel is so cool because of how candid their vlogging style is. Notice how iChang and Jimmy has never once addressed the camera (aka us the viewers) directly? It's a totally different style and aesthetic to vlogging/filmmaking which is what makes them stand out. But for some reason I wish they would start talking to the camera tho! Maybe a Q&A video! :)
Ivan they actually have done the live streaming and Q&A with viewers not too long ago when they were in KL. it was very fun tho.
Lol.. you guys are so full of humour. Thanks and keep the vids coming.
at first, i thought the Rocha uncle was looking at iChang with some wrong intentions..... but after the pink girl.....it was all because of your durian pouch.... mystery solved.
new camera? This is so clear.
In Hokkien, pineapple is called Ong Lai. Which means also means fortune coming.
Is it? No wonder sometimes lucky happened just ate pineapple.but I'm curious the fortune mean are consider to all the good thing.
0:06 sec I already laughed at the editing of the hand😂😂 well done!
do you know that the states of Sarawak and Sabah in Borneo island are also part of Malaysia? They are East Malaysian states. Try to visit these two states and when in Sarawak, taste the famous Sarawak laksa, you will like it.
they've went to sabah before. check their older videos
Yes, they know. They came to KK before.
yes, they knew.... they had went there before....
Your editing is getting very good. The intro felt like The Amazing Race plus the magic hand lol.
You must try 'Laksa lemak' combination of coconut creamer and the sambal cili belacan..its so delicous
Haha I stay in that residential area , it's a long route if you take the bus, good to see you guys promoting Penang my home town , thank you for your videos !!!! Will watch more of your videos.
The guy yelling "Rocha!Rocha!" is actually Rojak. That's another Malaysian food you should try. Rojak Penang is great.
ichang has a really good taste bud..she can name the ingredients..amazing👏👏
U must learn how to used "power of the hand" when crossing roads in Malaysia. If u manage to learn the trick then u are truly a full fledged Malaysian.
Hope Ichang & Jimmy will stay in Malaysia and become citizens. When Jimmy say careful careful he sound like locals haha!
HAHA so funny with d music background .. D journey in d bus stopping every station. I get impatient.
I really salute you both. Still being happy despite the weather and the situation. I would be really cranky if I were you.
With the virus outbreak we must appreciate our hot n humid weather that help to slow down the spread.
U are a very nice and polite couples..I like it how u behave and speaking each others....Owesome understandings .
I'm from Sabah, I remember how terrying the vehichle was at Penang. Bikin takut bah... laju gila haha. But the food there was soooooo good!
Sabahan here🖐 aq nda pernah lgi pgi penang. Teda rezeki :(

As a Malaysian Im embarrassed as well
True😅
Look like longkang.haha
@@Daisy_Annie-Shubongi 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Its a touristy place, popular & crowded with outstation customers. Not sure abt Penangites. Heard its tasty.
I would love to recommend u guys to try Laksa Janggus in Balik Pulau, Penang. It's a family business (tradition) and really famous for its laksa also pisang goreng (fried banana) and ABC. Totally recommend it👍
Wow you have learnt the local Malaysian superpower - use your hand! haha
There's always pineapple lantern hanging because in hokkien dialect, pineapple is called Ong Lai, which is also literally means Luck Come in the same pronunciation in hokkien 😁
12:50 iChang! Congratulations! U look like a Local again! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🍻 Next time, wear shorts & t-shirt while holding that plastic bag to look completely local. 😂😜
When both of you non stop slurping eating, we knew it was really good lol.
Penang Laksa is originally called Asam Laksa. Which is sour soup based. You can try Penang White Laksa which is aromatic think 'curry' soup base.
Personally i prefer normal Laksa at the south part of Malaysia. You can try them at Kuala Lumpur, Melaka or Johor.
The normal laksa have cockles. Not to miss them~
That's quite a bus ride.. haha.. Lucky you guys managed to reach there before they sold out.
Every state in Malaysia has their own type/style of Laksa. Each and every one of them has their own unique tastes and styles. When you eat em, you'll be able to tell them apart from each other. You guys should definitely try them out! Gotta catch 'em all!
Next.. U should go Penang Hill.. The view there amazing
Stay at my Hometown..all you can gets COD ( cash on delivery )..all menu we Have :) including LAKSA and LAKSAM. Welcomed u again to Malaysia.
Very enjoy see ichang vblog😍
I am muslim. Can taste this one is the best laksa in town. I believe, the best place to had laksa is in Guar Perahu, Bukit Mertajam. It is in the housing place...very very recommended
Crossing that small road seems like a mini mission impossible for foreigners
Pineapple widely use for decoration in Malaysia during Chinese New Year, Pineapple or "Ong Lai" sound like "Wang Lai" ("Money Come" in Malaysia's Chinese or "Dream Come True" in Mandarin).
come to Selangor! I would like to give you guys a tour!
The usage of Kiki's Delivery Service soundtrack was perfect for the wandering around scene. All that is is missing Ichang with a broomstick & Gigi the cat :)
come try sarawak laksa
Sarawak laksa (Malay: Laksa Sarawak) comes from the Malaysian state Sarawak, on the island of Borneo. The prime ingredient is a paste made from a wide range of ingredients. It has a soup-base of sambal belacan, which contributes to its crimson coloring, adding both coconut milk and sour tamarind, garlic, galangal, lemon grass, topped with omelette strips, chicken strips, peeled boiled prawns, freshly chopped coriander leaves and optionally lime. Ingredients such as bean sprouts, (sliced) fried tofu or other seafood are not traditional but are sometimes added.
If you want to use public transport i.e buses, can download moovit app from playstore (android phone)
4:00 It's difficult. Try in Melaka. Bus only once an hour. Sometimes driver won't pass the actual route (*taking his own preferred route). And Melaka is large city. Imagine in our normal small towns....
i suggest use grab for more safety..especially from motorbike...local area people always rushing out of line...just remind...
Your editing skills is superb !!! At the beginning felt like you are doing amazing race or some fear factor show 😂😂👏🏻👏🏻🤩🤩🤙🏻🤙🏻
Japanese famous with this kind of food. But from what i saw both of u really enjoying the food. Thats good
ichang voice is soo cute! love you ichang 😍😍
This laksa stall was recommended by Anthony Bourdain during his Penang visit. Yummy
Hi iChang RM ! It was totally hillarious, fun & enjoying to watch your video ! You guys are so enjoying yourselves eating & walking around the streets in Malaysia. I'm so nervous what had happened at the end of the video ? ?
ichang!!! Your face expression when the food arrives ! Hahaha... awesome video !! Keep up the good works !!
OMGGG Air Itam, my hometownn!! I live so close to the place where u eat the laksa . I know another place for good laksa other than here, it's in front of an all girls school. You should try the curry mee at the Air itam pasar, and at night there's a small stall selling goat milk its very fresh.
Hope you have funn!! and stay safe! Penang motorbikers are dangerous.
Welcome to come malaysia l hope your enjoy my country
I miss my hometown Penang! Travel overseas for a long time make me miss the Penang food.
I’m very glad that you enjoy Penang
When u reach to the place where u wanted to eat something. 1st find a table then second order.. U don't want Stand there wait till they tell you they are Close!!🤣
Happy Valentine's Day, Jimmy and iChang!
The taste of laksa varies slightly amongst the hawkers, either Chinese or Malays..
You can find laksa all over Penang and in other northern states from morning till night..
A Nyonya version would have bits of sliced pineapple & mint leaves, quite tasty for me..
Saya sangat bangga sebab awak berdua berminat dengan makanan di Malaysia tetapi malu juga lihat bekas kuah laksa tu nampak terlalu kotor. Harap awak berdua menikmati semua makanan di Malaysia tetapi hati-hati sekiranya keadaan persekitaran tidak bersih kena jauhkan takut mengundang penyakit. You can translate my word from google. Saya mengajak anda berdua nikmati Sate Kajang Haji Samuri di Bandar Kajang. Boleh dikatakan sate terkenal juga di Malaysia. Enjoyy
Pineapple is use to symbolise luck in Hokkien or Fujian culture in Malaysia and Singapore. "Ong Lai" or "王丽" which is pineapple in Hokkien is also means "Luck Come" literally in Hokkien and is used during the Hokkien New Year. It is very different in China as Pineapple is called "菠萝" there.
And now, I'm craving for Laksa 😆
You can see pineapple lattern everywhere in chinese area because chinese people in msia used to call pineapple 'wong lai' in chinese word, 'wong lai' sounds familiar or direct translate can be 'luck come'. So chinese likes to use pineapple to pray, lattern or some accessories to put in the house
I chang's durian bag. Looks amazing.
You should fly to Sarawak to try the Laksa there. Lots of foreigners says it's the best. 😊
Hi iChang..you should go to a town name "Kuala Kangsar". Known as a place for Laksa Beras (Rice Laksa) and there was a lot of laksa shop there too...while in Kuala Kangsar, my suggestion is that you can try go for the "Laksa Normah Lubok Merbau / Laksa Lubok"...This Laksa Lubok still using traditional method to cooked their laksa with wooden stove.. You can roll up a video there too...
Other than that, there was a few wellknown laksa restaurant in Kuala Kangsar like "Laksa Pokok Limau", " Laksa Perigi/Laksa Telaga, Laksa Lembah and so on..
cant wait to see part 2 of Penang!
have u try using google map and choose public transport as an option...It will show u which bus to take and which way to walk....pretty easy...
Nice background music when you were in bus.
I love to see ichang reaction
Anyone else notice the music from Kiki (Majo no Takkyubin)? 😁 When I saw the thumbnail for this video, I was wondering - which laksa? There used to be a restaurant chain called "Laksa Shack", back around 2000 it was in all the malls around KL. Last one I saw was at Sunway Pyramid, I don't know if it's still there any more. They served pretty much all conceivable varieties of laksa - Singaporean, Johor, Sarawak, Penang, Laksam from Kelantan/Terengganu, Thai/Siamese Laksa, Laksa Lemak, probably a few others. My personal favorite is laksam - but it's hard to find outside of Ramadan bazaars any more. Singapore Laksa and Laksa Johor are the next two favorites. Not particularly fond of Asam Laksa from Penang (or Ipoh Curry Laksa). A lot of people make it too spicy. Sugar cane juice is best right off the squeezer, just like this. Once it's been stored, it doesn't taste as good. I think the Indian man was saying "Rojak Rojak Rojak" - obviously looking for orders of rojak. Do anyone else in the world sell drinks in plastic bags "ikat tepi" like we do here? I've never seen it, not even in Indonesia. Definitely not in Thailand. It actually works quite well, if there is plenty of ice in the drink, you can actually lay it down on a flat surface without it spilling. At least, you can once you've drunk some of it. What's annoying is that people will just chuck the empty bags everywhere, or hang half-finished drinks from branches or whatever and then forget about it.
I love your durian bag.
The best combo after eating laksa is with cendol. 👍👍👍😍😍😍 Btw laksa sarawak is tasty too.
Your durian bag is so cute...!
I hope the owner of the laksa store can move to a better place. The late Anthony Boudain ate there too. But this guy Laksa is the BEST.
I know right. Yes I had it once early last year. The laksa was really good. But the place it have to be move for better satisfaction.
Sorry food business is very taboo to move place. Customer and even taste may move when the eatery is moved.
The one opposite inside the food court is taste better than this one, this one smell very fishy. Mostly customers from this stall are tourists.
@@mohamadraymie5525 sorry to ask but where is this place? Is it halal to eat? Just curious
they son and daughter of the uncle open many shop at klang valley selling double or triple price of laksa, inside shop TV showing this original shop, Restaurant name Uncle Peoh with green color Thame shop
In answer to your title, "Yes there is." Its called Sarawak Laksa and Anthony Bourdain said he could eat it everyday. He said it was that good that he ordered two bowls. He called it "Breakfast of the gods".
Agreed!!!
Sarawak laksa or laksa penang?? It’s look like laksa penang 😂
@@lovelyviola103 tngok lah bus rapid penang .. dah nmpak kan .. mana datang serawak .. jngn jadi indon nak claim2

The sugarcane taste rich because it is basically pure (not diluted and add sugar). The local says piau or piaw.. (Pure)
iChang, you should come to Kuching, Sarawak to try Sarawak Laksa. Lots of delicacies here as well..
Please try Sarawak Laksa
You know what funny iChang n Jimmy?? After a long minutes I watch ur vid.. the funny thing is bag 'Durian'... Hahahaha
I hear kiki's delivery service sound track.
You should try SARAWAK Laksa. It's the best in Malaysia.
7:35 Rojak3. NANI???
12:45 Durian sling bag reaction.
I miss ichang malaysian style wear ... Maybe u can try another kind of malaysian wear ... T-shirt + jeans shorts + sport shoes ..
That's the best, lots of vege too. They even have a build up washing station. Haven't seen any that care so much.
Watching both of you makes me wanna get married quickly. You two such a cute couple ♥️♥️
Come to Sarawak and try the famous Kuching Laksa, Sugarcane mixed Coconut cold drink & Kuching's Kolo Mee.
Try Kek Seng Cafe, the laksa, Durian ice cream, chicken rice, fried kuey teow and etc. All also nice!
I need to go there NOW to eat laksa. Can't wait.
We got yawning iChang and sleepy Jimmy on the bus. Well iChang can be a gourmant.
