One could make a case for Dale Crover over Chad, but Dale belongs in Melvins and I am glad it stayed that way. Not hating on Pat Smear and Dave Grohl, but I will always prefer Nirvana pre-Sept, 1990.

i remember hearing these guys early on, Bleach era, and being like 'wtf is that?'. It sounded like a cacophony compared to what I was used to hearing on the radio. I had no exposure outside of rock radio and the wackiest stuff I had heard up to that point was hard core punk. After I heard Nevermind, I got it, but not until then. I guess I wasn't ready yet.
