This challenge is already brutal with its standard rules. Adding on scavenged items and low levels on top of that is just downright terrifying

Nice challenge video! Dang, I had no idea Sleep was so powerful against bosses. I am so used to status effects being weak against bosses that I never even considered that it could be used to trivialize so much of the game like that.
And yeah, the Adonis Twins are pretty famous for being the fight challenge runs all fail on, so everybody tends to take them as an exception to challenge run rules :P
Yeah, having such a scripted fight sucks for challenges
I think a fun challenge that also incorporates the Adonis Twins blockade is “use only the second option in a menu when you have fighting or item usage options”. You will always be locked to the weakest moves, but on the other hand you have inherent access to the Gulp command. On the other hand, you also will have one useless item, you will need badges to attack, and Goombella becomes useless, Koops only is for attacking multiple enemies on the ground, etc.

It's a 46 profit every roughly 15 seconds.
That sounds a lot better than what I did!
Remember to keep an eye out for any secret blocks that might contain badges! You could've gotten another pretty lucky badge in the room with the Spinia's under Rogueport. (Haven't fully watched the whole video, so you might've known that already.)
Whoops, I didn't know about that one. Would have been nice for guaranteed dodges with dodgy fog!

You could have targeted Grodus' staff to make him unable to attack you.
That would use up a turn I could use for attacking. Since he summons the Grodus X's every turn that would require FP tp kill every turn, I was trying to finish the fight quickly

I havent gotten to play the new one and I'm pretty curious what other dialogue has changed now, as I noticed Hooktail is made queasy by the sound of frogs rather than crickets.
It's been a while since I've played the original so I'm not aware of many differences

There has to be a way to sequence break and get the second upgrade early.
I'm not sure, but it'd be cool to know it makes the whole game possible! Though, I usually avoid glitches since a lot of them can trivialize challenges

It's just occured to me that you had to play through the whole game with the audience constantly booing and leaving lmao
Yeah, they really don't like it when you miss action commands. I'm not sure if they have an increased chance to throw rocks at you when you miss an action command, but they did that a lot too. That might have been due to some fights just taking longer though
@@BarelyAlec I'm willing to bet it does affect how often they threw objects, which adds yet another layer of challenge to it 😁
@@BarelyAlecxnauts always throws rocks if you do an attack that deals 0 damage, and hammer bros always throws hammers if you fail a hammer action command.

This is a problem ive had with your videos for a little while but its very apparent here, you waste so much time talking about things you cant do because of the challenge, like i do not need to get an in depth explanation of every ability with action commands in the game just say "all of these abilities are usless to us" but instead theres a good 10+ minutes of filler content explaining how abilities that will never have importance within the video work, its super annoying and makes me feel like watching the video is a waste if time. And i haven't played the game before! Imagine how someone who already knows all of this would feel
Its fine to do it for a joke once or twice but you go over EVERY ACTION COMMAND ABILITY
As someone who has never played this game, I disagree.

@@Xaaaach i like to hear what he can't use when its actually relevant like saying "really wish we could use (insert helpful ability) right about now, and that happens throughout the video but then there's also a whole lot of 'this ability does this thibg that takes awhile to explain and btw it is completely usless to us' wich is really annoying to me
@@A_Surpluss_of_Stupidity I totally get what you mean. I liked having a comprehensive guide to which abilities do what, but I definitely could have made it shorter like you said. I made the choice to explain everything because most people don't go out of their way to miss action commands so they don't know what missing them means. Like Shell Shield working genuinely surprised me when I tested it. Knowing what abilities work is extremely important context to the challenge. It lets viewers know what I can and can't do. So I agree I could have shortened some of the useless ability explanations, but I still value the context of knowing exactly what missing each action command does. Thanks for the feedback!
