So we went from Crypto taking all the GPUs to now AI tech taking all the GPUs?
We're never gonna have GPUs are we ?
@@-Unavailable- nope. I guess atleast they're taking the cards I would never even dream of affording lol
No. We will have used gpu after couple years
Right now is the time to buy.
These are specialized GPU's, not consumer grade like for crypto.
I love how Elon said to pause AI development, then invests tons in AI
That's literally why he asked for the pause so he has time to catch up
Because he doesn’t give a shit about the world
Only about making money
@@OmegPirate exactly 💯
He just wants to catch up
Elon wants to be liked so bad he needs to be the face of the new thing
So, the business strategy is to lay off everyone, *then* create an app that does everything? It's a bold move, certainly.
Elons been very vocal about how Twitter was losing money and in debt when he bought it, so I think he's taking every step to make the platform generate a profit for the first time in years
Look if i want to build a car, I start with a plane and remove all the parts except the engine, then build up my car. It makes perfect sense!
What's funny is the job most easy to automate away would be CEO...
@@wyattnoise That’s definitely one of the hardest positions to replace with AI
@@jackytaly no man that's the easiest job to replace. Most good tech company decisions are made by engineers, but there are many options of decision to be made. CEOs are there to pick one of those decisions so someone is held accountable for picking that decision. So CEO jobs can be easily automated unless keeping a huge megalomaniac satisfied has become the point of the company. And twitter was not that profitable but it wasn't throwing money away.
"the everything app"
There's already an app for everything.
Bro every single market that an app could serve is already over saturated, what appeal could one more app on the pile do?
As far as I’m aware, there isn’t an everything app. Elon seems to want a search engine, social media platform, AI tools, only fans clone, and messaging service all in one. Most apps only do 1-2 of these things at a time.
No I don’t support Elon, but this could be a good idea if it is executed correctly
So instead of doing an app that does one thing but does it well, it's going to do a lot of things but half ass all of them
@@Fusion05 It's a dumbass idea to think an app can be successful trying to do all of those things at once. Too many balancing plates, only a matter of time before they get dropped.
Remove all the apps and clutter in your phone with 1 icon, are you too stupid to get that? No way, right?
@@Fusion05 no, it will absolutely not be a great idea. It will just be a jack of all trades and master of none.
an everything app just sounds like the internet, but owned by a single massive company, instead of a handful of big ones.
-someone who doesnt understand the internet
Not at all, the analogy you could make is Google and even that it's not quite the same
No actually, that is accurate, but the comparison is actually WeChat or QQ - which for Chinese users, is pretty close to *the* internet.
An app isnt the internet lmfao
Like Google? 😂

Not drunk, stoned.
And yet somehow he keeps winning.
Its almost like the billionaire who has hundreds of people adivising him and executing his will makes decisions that looks like hes drunk but in reality they see the bigger picture and makes plans to navigate it. He’s not just trying to flip Twitter, anyone would be suspicious this soon and serious potential buyers would demand significant results, not just significant spending in buzzword areas. It’s also not 4D chess. He’s just doing what he’s done at every business. He has an okay idea (in his mind) and uses young and energetic talent, and typically those who believe in the idea, to develop that. That’s why the layoffs don’t matter, the chaos doesn’t matter - he will just churn through young talent until an app comes out the other end. That doesn’t guarantee success or quick results, but it’s how SpaceX and Tesla have worked. Don’t forget the chaos and layoffs at those companies. This is just another cycle, one that he happened to fund more independently so it’s more interesting for media attention, but otherwise starts to looks pretty much the same.
spacex and tesla received large cash infusions through subsidies that allowed them to operate with burn rates higher than what they brought in
twitter is being run out of his pocket. 90% of advertisers have been run off. no person that has seen how he's run it is gonna invest. he's pissed off the government enough with this project that no one will give him the time of day
we'll see how it goes
that's not actually what's making tesla or spacex money, the only reason they're working is government projects (spacex) and carbon offset (tesla). Elon is a terrible businessman and is no engineer whatsoever.
@@LauraLovesHugs Right, the method isn't what makes them money, but the method and highly visible layoffs are just very similar to those other two companies that just didn't have as much attention at the time. As one of the richest people ever, Musk is clearly successful, so "terrible businessman" may be hard to argue, but unethical and exploitative certainly apply.
@@underthelidar its pretty easy to argue the guy spending 40 billion on an app he personally values under 10 billion isnt actually a good businessman.

For those who are worried about the amount of GPU's they bought.
They most likely bought a bunch of server GPUs which aren't in the same league as gaming GPUs.
They cost thousands more dollars and are not something you would usually put in a normal gaming computer.
Server GPUs usually have quite a bit more power, but also have ALOT more VRAM and are usually used for tasks that take a lot of resources.
They are missing a lot of of the key features normal people use for gaming, but have a lot more features specifically for doing multiple large tasks at faster speeds using less resources.
Server GPUS are for the majority used for high resource tasks like high end 3D Rendering (Like the kind that are used in the film industry), and Machine Learning (AI), (and many others)
They are usually more readily available than gaming GPUs, and look like bricks with cooling fins, with no display port outputs.

In the US an everything app like WeChat would face serious antitrust issues.
lol wut?!
In what world have you been living.
Literally all major companies in usa are breaking antitrust laws left and right and nothing happens.
For example remember how microsoft used to be fined with hundreds of millions of dollars like 20 years ago!? Nothing happens now.
Corporations are breaking laws left and right. As long as they bribe the party, ahem, lobby, pay up when election time comes, all is good.
Well it *should* but knowing how Meta and Apple are allowed to exist as they are, I wouldn't hold my breath
@@NathanBrownisawesome Apple is up there in antitrust land. But they're NOWHERE near the level of WeChat is in China. 90% of all transactions in China happen over WeChat for example. They also control the market on video streaming, music streaming, maps, shopping, games,
apps, etc..etc.. At least here we have Google Play and Apple. And there are 3rd party app stores on Android and it doesn't require jailbreaking. While it's no ideal, it's nowhere the monopoly that Tencent holds.
@@NathanBrownisawesome Meta and Apple have nothing on the ubiquity of WeChat, people don't use Apple Pay or virtual credit card services all that often nor do they use cash or actual plastic credit cards, most transactions, a huge amount of social media, messaging services and sub-applets including those that hook into government provided apps such as were used during the pandemic to verify that you had recently been tested for COVID (to get into stores in person.) all hook into it. Now mind you it's not quite as Monopolistic as Krozar Tal presents there is also Ali-Pay which does everything minus the social media but straight up in order to pay for a taxi, buy food on the street or in a mall it's sort of just expected for you to have Wechat or Alipay on your phone. Like straight up the woman at the register was surprised and didn't know how to operate its manual function and had to call one of the other waiters when I tried to pay in cash once. Hell you can use Wechat on your phone to rent a mobile power-brick for an hour to charge your phone for 2-4 yuan (0.30-0.70 cents.) if you're in most restaurants or a mall so you can keep your phone charged and thus keep buying products/food.
I was able to order food delivery on my phone with on of Wechats sub-applets and the level of penetration is has into every day life is both super convenient but also vaguely dystopian.
Literally you need at least one, if not both to live in a modern Chinese coastal city and apparently its also become ubiquitous even deeper into the countryside and rural areas as well though I can't confirm that myself.
@@krozareq well apple is already doing everything that Wechat is in one way or another.
