Ok so fun fact about this duel. Rebecca beating Yugi during the filler made her the queen of games. However, Valon beat Rebecca, Joey beat Valon, Mai beat Joey, Raphael beat Mai, and Yugi beat Raphael. So we're back where we started.

Meganime Also Kaiba didn't get anime-only backstory and development regarding creating Kaiba Land and Duel Academy, and he didn't attend Yugi's last duel in the manga. The Dark Side of Dimension movie is based on the manga ending, so we saw Kaiba wanted to settle things with Yugi, and making machine to afterlife. In the anime, while he still had some degree of rivalry with Yugi, his passion to spread Duel Monster around the world is more important to him. The anime spin-offs (GX, 5Ds) are based on this ending.

You know... hearing Atem calling the Graveyard the "GY" somehow makes me hate that abbreviation even more.... I did not think that was possible.

It really is for the card text, but to have it on every new card now, even the ones that are like a sentence long is just kinda pointless. Calling the discard pile the "graveyard" gave it a sense of purpose, like the game was having you command an army of monsters that when defeated would be laid to rest. Seeing "GY" in place of that makes it lose some if not all that presence.
Saying the abbreviation out loud however... yeah literally no point.

When this series end, I hope to see a scene where everyone’s missing Yami when he’s gone, but they’re ready to move on. It’s quiet for a moment. And then Kaiba, completely unprompted, says “Why is everyone still talking about the time I touch Joey? It was ONE TIME”

A right way to do that is if Yugi wiped all of the Guardians off of the field first instead of Raphael sacrificing them. And when he summons Dreadscythe Raph kinda goes off the edge for a bit.
I can imagine an Abridged version of said scene when Atem destroys the rest of the monsters.

back when they were doing all those episodes of cell meeting random people i wanted one where Cell meets Alucard. apparently TFS said no 2 that idea because they weren't comfortable with the idea of having a whole episode of Taka talking to himself as if he was having a split personality thing

So, the Seal of Orihcalcos is supposed to be this extremely powerful card, which is the foundation of Dartz's power and his cult... So why does almost everyone, who uses it loses? Even Yami lost. His ONLY loss.
Apart from that one time he lost to Joey in Season 2, but we don't speak about it the same way we don't speak about Kaiba touching Joey.
