What’s the best sound in the world? To me it’s this. We could start nitpicking if the 998’s testastretta sounds better or the 916’s and 996’s desmoquattro. I say: Fit carbon Termignonis on them and they will both play a melody like no other - under acceleration, engine braking, and with an open dry clutch as icing on the cake. 1990s and early 2000s World Superbike feel as if it all was happening today.
On top of that, we had a beautiful summer morning. The roads were clear, the sun was shining. Can’t get much better than that!

I'm very happy with the sound of this. As long as the speakers can produce even a little bit of bass, this really sounds the way it should.
A beautiful sunny day, perfectly paved, empty roads, a willing camera operator, and one of Ducati's absolute finest.., that's all you need for the makings of a great video! Nicely done Donnie
You're right: Let's not forget the person behind the camera. Having to get up early morning (before breakfast!), standing around in the sun and seeing me go back and forth until we had 30°C and both got dizzy 😅❤

Tolles Video, danke. Der offene Kupplungsdeckel war das erste und einzige Teil, daß ich an meiner Duc änderte. Kindsheitserinnerungen, wenn man das typische Duc-Rasseln in der Stadt hörte. ❤️
Ich versuche die so original wie möglich zu belassen. Aber der geschlossene Kupplungsdeckel - das konnte so einfach nicht bleiben 😉War auch sehr schön den Deckel von meiner verblichenen 998 weiterzuverwenden!

I feel you. I had a 998 once and sold it after two crashes. I still miss that bike even though I have the SPS.

I'd definitely like to come to Donington one day, I've never been there! But I probably wouldn't take this bike, to be honest. I rode the 998 at Hockenheim and crashed twice. That was sad, but crashing the SPS would probably be unforgivable 😁 I have a plan to go on track this year with another bike in France, though...

@@CornerSpeed My plan is to go to Chenevieres in June and/or Anneau du Rhin in September with Motorspeed. I think the bike I'll take with me would be strongly underpowered at Le Mans 😁

Nice video and beautiful bike, what is your size please ? personnaly i'm 192 cm / 6ft3 long torso and short leg. do you think can i fit on 998 ? thanks :)
I'm 1m90, long legs & arms. Yes, you can fit on it. With shorter legs, your knee angle will be a bit more pleasant than for me. This is generally not a comfy bike, though ;)

@@DonnieDesmo my dream to own one. Probs gonna buy a slightly rough one and try restore one as best I can. In 20-30 years they are gonna be worth so much more
@@sweep1381 If you have the skill for that, it's certainly cheaper, also in terms of maintenance. These bikes need care.
