TY for your post. My Father and Grandfather were from Asheville. When I went to Grandfathers funeral, years ago, as a young girl, I remember how beautiful it was. Praying for you & all North Carolinas people to get the help & support you need! God Bless you!
So glad you are safe! Praying for all in need🙏🙏 I visited Ashville last year at the end of September. I had considered moving there to a retirement community! We may have been neighbors if I had done so. The videos are just mind boggling & reminiscent of Katrina. We had just dropped my daughter off in New Orleans the day before she had to evacuate from there. 🙏🙏🙏🙏💕🦋
Greetings Sandy! I'm so glad to hear that you are safe and doing relatively well. This really has been a disaster. I live just far enough east in the northern Piedmont, so we didn't get the same devastation that Asheville did. My prayers are with you! Love and blessings ♥️🙏
So glad to hear your update, we were worried. Continued blessing to you, your husband and community & thank you for keeping us informed. Appreciate all you share & when you can. 🙏
So glad you are safe. Your experience is good info for those of us considering buying into retirement communities. I am wondering if your nursing facility or community kitchen had backup generators? Take care. So stressful.
@@KathyRiggle-p3u yes. The generators kept the community center running throughout. We were able to come over here and charge our cell phones. The kitchen was able to provide meals from the beginning. There were also generators in assisted living and skilled nursing.
Water, generator, new battery chargers, water, water….my guess is as a retired nurse, your emergency supplies may be changing in the future…from calif…extra meds…25 gallons of water, solar lanterns etc…
Funny the worst hurricane I ever experienced back in the 90's was in Greensboro NC and I'm from FL! But now FL is the worst! Thinking of moving to a safer state with better infrastructure. Asheville is beautiful but it seems like their infrastructure, mountains and flooding were scary to me.
@@SandyOver70 What do you mean??! Prepared?! Not from the tornadoes!! You can easily see from the hurricane path that the weather reports said. We had the hurricane AND the tornadoes here in FL. Unlike a tornado that comes with no warning. We had something like over 53 tornados in FL caused by the hurricane. 🙄
So glad your ok. The devastation is horrible and the lost of lives. Prayers🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Happy you are safe! I have been worried about you and all of the folks there. Thanks for the post and take care.

Thank you Sandy for the update. Do hope things will be back to normal soon. ❤
I hope so too
How horrible! You are indeed blessed and happy you're safe. I've been watching FB reels non-stop and the devastation is hard to comprehend.

Great video! At least things are improving and moving in right direction
Wishing you and your love ones all the best... God bless and protect... we have another few storms/hurricanes on the horizon... very scary indeed...
So glad you are safe, it looks horrific. 💗

It's bad, but as you know disasters bring people together.

Unlike Florida, that was totally prepared, we had no inkling that a hurricane would actually land here.

You are so right! I was referring to the hurricanes, but no one can prepare for a tornado. They are the worst.
